The best restaurants in Wales

We have been to this pub twice before and had good food and service both times, This time we called in and had coffee first because it was early. We were told which table to have even though people who came later were told they could sit anywhere. We were then told we would have to go to the bar to order drinks but food was table service. Our drinks came we drank them. Another waitress asked if we were having food we said yes but still no one came to take our order. No one told us about the specials board and in the end we went to the bar to give our order. The food looked nice but the chicken was overcooked and dry. There was not much barbecue sauce on the hunters chicken so we were very disappointed. The onion rings and salad were very nice. I wish I'd known about the specials I probably would have picked off there but I only saw the board when I went to the toilet. The toilets by the way were very clean. We just felt we didn't get the service we have had in the past and it spoiled our overall visit to the Liverpool arms in Beaumaris.

The food is delicious and can be enough for two people to finish three dishes. The proprietress is also kind. Visitors from Birmingham said they would eat at your place next time they come.

Called for a drink, friendly leading us to the table, drinks were expensive and when I went inside to look for the loo the owner was very ‘off’ the place needs a good scrub down. Glad we weren’t eating there after I’d seen the toilet hygiene

Absolutely amazing food especially the burger pizza , shish kebab and the pockets are to die for and nothing is to much for the staff definitely be visiting next time in aber

Great great pub, fantastic atmosphere and super friendly. If you want a sterile identikit chain pub kind of feel then this pub will not be for you, but for everyone else this should be a destination pub in Builth. Good beer and cider options, open plan seating options as well as cosy alcoves. Staff are amazingly friendly and helpful, spent a lot of time helping us find a taxi back to our middle-of-nowhere campsite. It's rare that pub customers can listen to their own choice of music so a juke box is a great feature here.

Food tasted old. Didn't feel good after it. Not for me.

Tenía grandes esperanzas en Matsumen Ramen, pero desafortunadamente, mi visita fue abrumadora. A pesar de que el restaurante solo estaba lleno en un 20 %, esperé 45 minutos por un tazón de ramen, demasiado tiempo dado lo tranquilo que estaba. Cuando pregunté, simplemente me dijeron que había un retraso en la cocina. Hubiera sido un buen gesto ofrecer una bebida de cortesía o un pequeño aperitivo mientras esperábamos, en lugar de dejar a los comensales preguntarse qué estaba pasando. El espacio en sí es visualmente atractivo: grandes ventanales dejan entrar mucha luz natural, y hay una decoración brillante y minimalista con mesas de madera de haya, sillas simples y algunos carteles divertidos en una pared. La música de los años 2000 añadió un ambiente relajado, y los asientos estaban bien espaciados, aunque algunas de las mesas más grandes estaban apretadas entre sí. Desafortunadamente, nuestra mesa era tan pegajosa que incluso la servilleta se pegó a la superficie – un problema básico de pegajosidad que debe abordarse que tal vez el producto de limpieza en la superficie de madera. En cuanto a la comida, pedí el Yokohama Mazesoba. El plato parecía prometedor con su vibrante yema de huevo, fideos amarillos y triángulos de algas limpias, pero era demasiado salado, empeorado por las algas, que intensificaron la sobrecarga de sodio. Había una pequeña cantidad de caldo en el fondo, que no hizo mucho para equilibrar la salinidad. El cóctel de cereza era agradable —ligero, a base de refrescos y ligeramente alcohólico— casi como un refresco, que algunos podrían preferir. En general, el ambiente y las bebidas eran agradables, pero el servicio lento y la comida demasiado salada me dejó decepcionado. Con algunas pequeñas mejoras en la velocidad de los alimentos y el control de calidad, esta podría ser una experiencia mucho mejor.

Toda mi familia (los 17 de nosotros) acaba de disfrutar de otro magnífico banquete vegetariano del Sitar. La comida estaba caliente, y absolutamente delicioso. También tenía un precio muy realista para una comida tan buena y auténtica, que valía cada centavo. Todo el mundo en The Sitar es súper servicial, amable y eficiente. No puedo recomendarlos demasiado.

Lovely curry and very good value for money!

Staff are delightful, very happy and helpful. Food was incredible, hot, fresh and very reasonably priced. Usually you get ripped off in places like this. Even the kids meals were only £5 and they were Great portions :)

On holiday and ordered from here told us 30 min was actually over an hour . Noodles were tasteless the rest of the food everyone said was ok but one of our group got food poisoning which is less than ideal on holiday

God awful. Waited over 90 minutes for food when quoted 45-60. Wrong food received and frozen cakes… the attempt of putting salad on soggy bread was just sad
