The best restaurants in Scotland

Great find after a long day of travel with many connections. Equa provided us with excellent and warm service with a smile. Try the haggis nachos.

It's fine, there were no chicken bakes and was told they don't do them, would be nice if they did. Queue was long and service slow but probably because people were ordering lots of things. Sausage rolls i bought were tasty and enjoyed by 3 of us

Lovely little tearoom with friendly and welcoming staff. Dog friendly, interesting location and Scones were great too!

Very poor starter and dessert but mains good and service OK. The onion bargee was awlful-flat and greesy and desserts straight put of rhe freezer but mains OK.

Food is absolutely fantastic and could not fault it. We haven't been for a few years but enjoyed our return visit till i went to pay the bill, because of covid they were only accepting cards (or preferred cards) so that's all i had with me. When presented with the card machine all you can see is "Add 15%, 20% or 25% gratuity" on the display screen!! and with the waitress standing holding the machine in front of you and because of covid she didn't seem to want me touching it more than i had to, so you are put under pressure to leave a tip. Now i always usually leave a tip after a meal but this pressure is off putting especially with the percentage figures displayed and this will probably put me off visiting again unfortunately.

Popped in for lunch after getting a recommendation from a friend. Friendly staff, lovely decor and great location. Plenty of choice on the menu and everything g we ordered was excellent. Highly recommended.

Good place for flat iron steak. Good value. Music a bit loud to hold a conversation.

Only open from 4 - 9pm Wednesday to Sunday, however worth waiting for! The service was exceptional and the food extraordinary. This fish and chip shop deserves to be in the nations top 20! It’s was an excellent find.

Great feel to the place all green and white the best and friendly staff and great atmosphere too

Been before and loved it but tried again and was shut despite google saying it was open. Feel bad for the tourists who had booked a table and also couldn’t get in.

Visited last night. As always excellent service. New menu with lots of choice. Ginger the chef is excellent .Food of highest quality accommodates requests and the food is beautifully presented. Can never find fault with the food here and amazing value for money.

This was our first meal in Edinburgh and it was incredible! We tried almost all of the tasting plates and it was paired with the most perfect wines. Highly recommend!

Wow the Cullin Skink soup was fantastic to start. We had lobster betwen us for main course, tasty delious food. Only a small place, you can't book. (I kept trying to ring) Top Tip Get of the train and get there asap as it fills up, and they only do lunch. When we arrived they had a note on the door saying full ,but my wife went round the side asked if they could fit us in. Ime so glad as he squeezed us in. (Thankyou so much) people kept coming but we were lucky. Does not disapoint.

I've had many incredible meals at Taisteal over the years, its one of my favourite restaurants in Edinburgh. But I wanted to leave a review after my most recent visit because it was one of the best meals I've ever had. I had the chicken noodle soup, followed by the teriyaki venison and it was delicious. The atmosphere in the restaurant is always perfect too - a good buzz but never overly noisy. The customer service is always a highlight too - me and my pals left feeling very spoilt.
