This is a brilliant little tea room and I can’t understand how anyone can give it a 1* review. The quality of fresh food and service is excellent, the scenery stunning and visitor centre and gifts well stocked. We booked a few days in advance and would recommend doing this. It’s slightly pricy but you have to understand the logistics of supply based on such a remote location. Decor inside is really interesting with lots of local history etc. Only thing they could improve is serving red and brown sauce in little nice pots rather than the cheap sachets you get in Wetherspoons - made it feel a bit like a pub than tea room. Highly recommend this tea room - staff are also incredibly friendly.

What a fantastic place to head to for a lovely lunch! We had soup ( courgette and cheese which was very tasty) and toasties plus a lovely slice of lemon and mascarpone cake which hubby decided was the fluffiest cake he had ever eaten - a compliment indeed! Sitting in the window seat we were able to watch the clouds gradually lift and the hills appear - book this table if you can! I would recommend booking ( we didn't but got lucky with a table being available). there is seating outdoors but the midges were very keen when we visited so it was definitely better to be indoors! All the staff were very friendly and helpful. Plenty of free parking and we even saw a hen harrier while driving up which was a fantastic sight.

As family we've had the pleasure of knowing Bill & Jenny for many years and I've been coming here for as long as I've known my Wife who has family connections in the area. One wouldn't expect such niceties in the rural Highlands but they serve the finest of fare for a well earned treat built up exploring this beautiful area. Thank you for your service to the area over so many years, and for your kindness and hospitality.

As our anniversary fell within our annual visit week, we decided to enjoy a brunch at the tearoom and I booked a table for noon as August is a busy month. The staff were lovely and although we were 10 mins late for the breakfast specials, Bill kindly did a full Scottish for my husband as he'd been looking forward to that! I opted for a proper frankfurter with fried onions and real German mustard, though I decided to pass on the saurkraut. Both meals were really good. Jenny even had time for a quick chat before the lunch time rush and staff wished us a happy anniversary when they served our meal and drinks. As the wee place filled up, we felt bad that two of us were taking up a table for four, so we told Jenny that we'd choose our cakes and take them back to our lodge. She did ask us to stay, but we were full anyway, so it wasn't too much of a hardship to defer our cakes until later! We chose two pieces of fantastic lumberjack cake and as we're cream lovers, Jenny popped a couple of clotted cream pots into the boxes. She also refused to take payment for the cakes and said that was our anniversary treat....such kindness on our special day! I'm not adding any of the prices as it seemed unimportant because we felt like royalty and much preferred to visit this tearoom than to spend much more money in some impersonal posh hotel. Prices have risen everywhere, so we are well aware of how some businesses are struggling. We have eaten here before and the hard working team always try to accomodate the folk who find their way to this out of the way place, which is part of it's charm. But do book ahead and make allowances for your timings and the popularity of the place. It's a gem, so appreciate it's uniqueness. Thank you, Bill, Jenny and staff & we hope to be back next year if we're fit enough!

Went by road and had bacon and egg rolls. Walked to loch then back to tea shop for tea and cake. Lovely food, cakes are home made and different from the usual factory made cakes on offer in other tea rooms, only problem is which to have. Very friendly staff. P. S. Thank you for my sausage and biscuit you gave me. Aggy the dog.

Arrived for lunch and to buy cake to take home, to be told that I was rationed to a single piece of cake. Odd business plan to display cakes and then refuse to sell them. Excuse given was that you didn’t want to run out later, so I am a bit annoyed to see reviews on here where you have sold 3 slices of cake to people to take away. I have travelled the 160miles to you for lunch many times, but think this was the last time.

This Tea room was the most beautiful little find, it was like stepping back in time. Very good value, the food was yummy even had a cheeky glass of wine. The staff were very friendly. We did not want to eat until 4pm but it closed at 4.30pm to make sure we had a table I checked beforehand but was advised that there may not be cakes left by then. So I asked for one to be put aside for me and this was not a problem. Lovely little souveniers to purchase as well. We would have gone back the next day but unfortunately it was closed. There was beautiful deers to look at as well which was a bonus and lovely walking areas that lead to a secluded little beach. Would definately go back if we visit this area again.

The Tea Room at Rannoch Moor Train Station is very much iconic, a one off. Despite it being well off the beaten track it remains very popular and busy and no surprises there. The menu, whilst not extensive boasts excellent quality food from the home made soup, tasty sandwiches and hot snacks, followed by an unbeatable range of home made cakes and deserts. All this delivered by friendly owners and staff in a location that is perhaps unrivalled in the UK. The station tea room and accompanying "museum" rooms adds a real homely feel

Smashing little cafe on the station. Great food and plenty of outdoor seating. An absolutely stunning drive to get there. First class!

At the end of one the most stunning long drives in Scotland is this hidden gem. Situated by the edge of the River Lyon, surrounded by robins and swallows, we enjoyed a relaxed lunch of delicious tomato and pepper soup, quiche and a warm pastrami panini. Accompanied by coffee and lapsang souchong tea and served by warm and charming staff. Magical!

We haven’t been to the inn for a while. But as Sunday lunch here has always been good we headed north for a family treat. And treat it was! They have a new chef, Thomas, who introduced himself to us (and other diners) and was keen to know if we had enjoyed our meal. We had! This is not a traditional Sunday roast - it’s above and beyond better. The gravy was sublime. I asked what was in it and he said chicken stock and a lot of love! Treat yourself this is the best ❤️

Lovely location, good service and great food. We had bacon rolls, an egg roll, followed by scones & cakes, all were excellent. Will definitely be back on our next visit to the area.
