The best restaurants in Bothwell and Uddingston South Lanarkshire South West Scotland

Not overly impressed. Food ok, but service not too good. Also they had loads of things not available, no mussels, anchovies, prawns and no port of sherry! 🤦‍♂️

Cracking wee pub with friendly staff and delicious real ales!

It has all the classic Scottish bakery favourites and tere is always a massive selection of savoury and sweet items. A pity the sit in cafe has gone since covid.

Friendly staff but food not so great. I had pancakes, I assume they have been bought from a supermarket as not fresh. They were cold and syrup also cold. My husband had full breakfast, was meant to come with toast but didn’t get any and the fried egg was burnt. He said that the black pudding was nice but unfortunately won’t be back just for that. My coffee was nice but husband’s was a bit cold.

Went there for a work staff meet whilst in the area. Fantastic meal and great staff, especially Ellie B. Thank you. Will be back soon

Small venue. Staff were helpful and prompt. Disappointed on the Food, Steak and Veg were mediocre, Mash was nice enough. Enjoyed our Drinks Heard good things left underwhelmed.

We had sandwiches, coffee and tray bakes. Very nice , great service

Stayed here once and also had a celebration meal on another occasion. Both experiences were impressive. All the staff are very friendly and professional. The place itself is well appointed and clean. Very fair prices for a quality establishment that thankfully is in no way pretentious- it simply goes about its business very very well.

I visited the town of Bothwell because my last name is the same, and after seeing "my" castle I had a few pints at Douglas Arms and it was very cool. I hung out with some local gents and the place is just perfect! Thank you so much for the very welcome time boys (and Maam-bartender), I will return!

Great wee play cafe for the kids.Lots of toys to keep the kids entertained whilst the adults enjoy the lovely food and coffee.

I don’t normally even leave reviews but couldn’t believe what a terrible experience we had here. Two steaks weren’t cooked anywhere near what was requested and even the pasta dish was undercooked, far less than al denté. When we brought this up to the waitress who was lovely she advised the manager. He then came over and was extremely rude to us and tried to loudly talk down to a 15 year old girl and then shouted at me when I tried to speak on her behalf. We went to finish our drinks before leaving and could hear him loudly complaining about us to other customers. My gnocchi was fine but not worth the drama haha.

Used to be good, has went massively downhill, got steak frites, asked for medium, got well done, chewier than an old boot and fries were cold, took ages for the food to come, got a coffee afterwards that was also cold

Started using this as my regular Chinese but I won't be returning after tonight's experience. Asked the young lad on the counter to exchange five £20 notes for 10 tenners & he was quite happy to do so until the woman from the kitchen appeared & basically implied that they were fake & not to exchange them because they needed their 20s lol why would you need £20 notes for change? I somehow doubt there's a sudden increase in customers using £50 notes. Judgemental & disrespectful!

Came here with friends who had been before on Tuesday as it's round the corner from work. Tinto do a deal on Tuesdays. £2.75 for any tapas you order from the menu. Had gambas pil pil and patatas gratinadas as those are my go to favourites. Also had the bacalao which is salt cured cod with chorizo, black pudding and lemon. It was cooked to perfection and really tasty! Staff were exceptional. Will definitely be back!
