The best restaurants in Bothwell and Uddingston South Lanarkshire South West Scotland

Had a fantastic stay at this lovely hotel. Food was amazing and customer service impeccable from the host David, the waiters and bar staff to the housekeeping staff. A lovely friendly atmosphere. The outside does not do it justice. Would highly recommend a stay or just to come for a meal or drinks. Thanks to everyone who made us so welcome

Food is excellent, good portion sizes, plenty of flavour. Sat inside which is a bit strange, not really any atmosphere. Service was okay, clearly understaffed to deal with seated restaurant customers compared to the large amount of takeaway orders.

Went here on Saturday and enjoyed the market menu. Staff were extremely polite, friendly and attentive. Food was amazing. I had the chicken tenders, tasty n juicy followed by the burger, full on flavour not greasy and not dry and overcooked. My wife has the soup and steak pie and stick toffee pud enjoyed them all. We would highly recommend and we'll certainly be back.

Awful service. I purchased my parents a voucher for their Christmas and their order took over 90 minutes to arrive. They ordered the two course Chateaubriand which is advertised on their website as £75. They were given thin poor slices of meat which they believe was actually roast beef and were charged £90. A complete waste of a voucher. They even complained to the male server and said how disappointing the meal was to which he did nothing about. I do not recommend. Next time I will get them a voucher for Miller and Carter as I usually do.

Stayed here once and also had a celebration meal on another occasion. Both experiences were impressive. All the staff are very friendly and professional. The place itself is well appointed and clean. Very fair prices for a quality establishment that thankfully is in no way pretentious- it simply goes about its business very very well.

Had the veggie breakfast, sadly it was very poor. Half the plate was a greasy mix of tinned mushrooms. Mixed with tomato and spinach. It felt like an oily stir fry. The toast wasn’t toasted. Would have expected something more fresh for £9.95

I visited the town of Bothwell because my last name is the same, and after seeing "my" castle I had a few pints at Douglas Arms and it was very cool. I hung out with some local gents and the place is just perfect! Thank you so much for the very welcome time boys (and Maam-bartender), I will return!

Place is a joke, completely messed up our friends kids birthday party, they booked the wrong day, yet the idiot had the audacity to shout and bawl at my friend, trying to pin the blame on her, then tried to say it was a miscommunication, then when proof was shown that it was in fact THEIR fault, he didn’t want to see it. AVOID at all costs. I Understand mistakes happen; that’s not the reason for the negative review, but the disgusting attitude and treatment given afterwards, and even blatantly lying to get out of admitting they f*cked up, is just disgraceful. The Place is also absolutely boggin!!

I don’t normally even leave reviews but couldn’t believe what a terrible experience we had here. Two steaks weren’t cooked anywhere near what was requested and even the pasta dish was undercooked, far less than al denté. When we brought this up to the waitress who was lovely she advised the manager. He then came over and was extremely rude to us and tried to loudly talk down to a 15 year old girl and then shouted at me when I tried to speak on her behalf. We went to finish our drinks before leaving and could hear him loudly complaining about us to other customers. My gnocchi was fine but not worth the drama haha.

Hate these places ... rip off prices and 1 out of 10 for quality of products.. avoid is what I would say about these places

Very good food and good value as well. Staff are there to help but not at all intrusive - they have the fine balance correct. Been a few times now and each time was quality, so I'll certainly be back. Recommended for sure.

Tuesday Tapas, great deal! We shared 5 tapas, coke, large wine £24, wow! The food was extremely tasty, came quickly and was roasting hot, service was good We will visit again.
