Tinto in South Lanarkshire

Honestly the first time I came here was absolutely amazing! I enjoyed the restaurant very much and the service was top tear however this time I don’t even know how to explain it! I visited again on Wednesday and gosh was it a different experience. I was served by one of the same ladies as last time and she was still lovely and very helpful especially when i asked to bag a lot of the food to take home with me e.g the paella and then we asked if we could take deserts home or order them tomorrow and she gave us all the information we needed! Very helpful but it seemed she was working alone tbh? Last time we were in the two who served us worked in harmony and seemed to work together very well and it helped the vibe of the restaurant and gave a great harmony however it seems it was a solo job tonight. It showed on her face aswell that she seemed frustrated however cannot fault her. The food was top tear and although we ordered a lot I don’t like it to be mocked by a server who didn’t seem to want to be here? I love this little restaurant and cannot fault it…. Just alittle disheartened after my last visit.

If you are hoping for a takeaway (which they have on their deals) don't build your hopes up. I called today to order takeaway for collection, only to be told they were too busy and weren't doing takeaways today. Didn't offer to do it later, just not doing it at all. Very poor service. I've visited quite a few times and had takeaway before, but I won't be returning. In a very competitive market in this area, I will happily take my business elsewhere

What a fantastic tapas bar. So many delicious dishes to choose from and such great value. We shared the Pollo y chorizo, pan fried pork fillet medallions with Iberian black pudding and onion cream, king prawns with chilies and garlic oil and patatas bravas. Every dish was fantastic. Only wish I’d had time to come back again for dinner.

We came to Tintos for a new change and it was absolutely amazing! First of all the staff were just amazing! We were served by two lovely ladies Alison and Anna I believe their names were, couldn’t fault them! They provided fast drinks and service throughout our visit. The food came out hot and to perfection! Although the decor seems alit dated and could do with a little clean it really gave a wonderful Spanish feeling. We were sat near the door which was near the bar and you could see the team work and how amazing the staff work together, all smiles and laughs between them which helped the atmosphere. Amazing little restaurant in the Main Street and will definitely be back!

I have been going to tinto tapas in uddingston for the last 4 years. I go with my friend every time I come over to Scotland . It is usually very good but I noticed a marked decline when I went for lunch last week . It was hit and miss . The Caesar salad was bland . The calamari was a soggy congealed mess. the patatas bravas were dreadful, they were dry and tasteless with an underwhelming spicy mayo dip . They were obviously mass produced and not manufactured in-house. The place really needs a deep clean . Windows were dirty and the radiator near the front window was filthy and splattered with god knows what . The menus were dirty , covered with finger marks . The staff and service however was great and we really enjoyed the pate and the aubergine fritters . Standards have slipped and they need to pull their socks up . I won’t be returning until things improve

Excellent food , value for money and first class staff ! Mussels had such a tasty tomato sauce and mini hamburgers were a treat, tho rarely eat burgers. Pork cheeks were also very good. We went on a Tuesday which offers Tapas at £2 75 - unbelievable value. (Some dishes do have a supplement) The restaurant was packed !

First time trying Tapas and we certainly will be back the food was delicious and the staff were very friendly. Honestly came out feeling full up and it was reasonable.

First time I’ve been here and can say 100% we will be back. The service was excellent! Very friendly warm welcome and went above and beyond for our ladies group. The food was delicious, there were 5 of us and an array of dishes. Each and every one was lovely. We expected small portions but they weren’t. Personally I’d recommend the flat bread with goats cheese. The chicken strips in beer batter were outstanding!! Some of the girls had the white chocolate cheesecake for dessert and it looked and tasted amazing. Proper home made. Thank you so much, it’s a busy time of year and you guys are doing a great job.

Passed this restaurant a number of times and we finally decided to give the Tuesday special lunch a go, all tapas £2.75. When we arrived around 1pm the restaurant was extremely cold with a few customers, this spoiled our initial excitement, Food and drink order was taken quickly and food was served efficiently, and hot. The three tapas dishes we choose each were good but nothing special, but when we asked for the bill two of the dishes included a supplement. Going forward I would suggest they have a separate special menu or make it more clear on taking your order. Don’t know we will be rushing back, as it is quite expensive for nothing special.

Nice handy location , found this by chance as we were new to the area but thought to pop in. Nice lady welcomed us , very friendly & chatty. Food delivered very quickly - the quality was consistently nice. It’ll be hard for me to find another tapas that beats this as this one has really raised the bar

I’m the food is tasty and nice… but the portion sizes are tiny and the price is crazy high. Much better options where you can get good food and tapas that actually leaves you fill and not leaving hungry and doesn’t cost an arm and a leg.

Pretty disappointed really. Table service was ok, pleasant enough staff. 7 of us shared a number of dishes. Overall I can’t say it was anything better than bland. Bravas sauce was tasteless, Croquettes over cooked, prawns were ok, the rest of the tapas passable. Disappointed to be given the bill with someone else’s drinks on it, these are basic and avoidable errors. Best thing about it was the service, the dining was way below what we expected.

the food was fabulous and all tapas dishes arrived at the same time nice and hot. We were a party of 13 celebrating my husband's 70th birthday this was a perfect venue for our family to get together. The girl that served us think her name was Allison provided an excellent service and looked after us really well. I would definitely recommend Tinto Tapas Bar for excellent service and delicious food.

I've not had Tapas for years, so not sure how this would go. Went today and chose the "3 Lunch Tapas £12" option...excellent. To finish, I had the Churros...hot sweet strips of sugar-coated doughnuts and served with a small pot of chocolate...amaze balls! The leftover chocolate, poured into a lovely Cortado coffee! They were eaten before I remembered to take a photo...sorry! All in, a great experience.

Visited with friends who were there for the first time. The atmosphere and service wS first class as usual. Has there been a change of staff in the kitchen? The food was just OK and not to it's usual standard. The Spanish omelette was overdone and close to being sent back as was the sliced duck. The meatballs were not as tasty either. I hate being critical of a place we frequent regularly however our friends were wondering why we rated it so highly. Maybe just an off night.

We had been in Seville the week previously and prices were double what they were in sevile for smaller portions and overcooked (burnt) food. In addition waiter was very attentive to his mobile phone. Been to other tintos and all light years ahead of this one. 1/10

Big dissapontment...food was terrible...tried it won't be returning...prices on the high side..walked by the kitchen and it looked like it needed a good clean..

Wanted to go here for ages so was delighted to fit in a lunch.On arrival guy behind bar looked at us as though we had stolen his lollipop.Waitress got us and first thing she said was i need the table back at 4...it was 2.45. Took to a table by toilet which was fair enoughas place was busy. Drinks arrived no bother food they started coming .While this was happening the waiter was having a stand up loud argument through the hatch into the kitchen then he went into the kitchen and carried on the argument....lot of shouting on all sides.To the food. The fried cheese tasted just like a fried..thing....no flavour except of oil .patas bravas with no sauce on it only potatoes which actually turned out to be the best thing we had !! There was a tiny bowl of orange mayo...was that the sauce?? Chicken skewers dry, the chorizo in red white came in a very thick sauce which was really unpleasant. Everything tasted reheated or deep friend . Had the table back for 3.30. Shame really

I have always loved Tinto the last time i had visited wasn't good but i gave it another chance and went back on 31/10/22 i had booked the table a week before for 6oclock when we got in the woman advised they needed the table back for 7 o'clock meaning we had to find somewhere else after the food, it took ages for the food to be served when the food came it wasn't hot everything just tasted like salt and no other taste, poor show, I won't be back !!

Disgrace Food was fine, and reasonable, but despite the Mask warning on entering the restaurant, we were sat with customers left and right, six inches from us. Three serving staff. None wore masks. Disgrace Won’t be back.

Went here for my sister’s birthday. First time I’ve tried tapas and the first time we tried this place and it was brilliant. The staff were really friendly and attentive and the service was first class and the food was excellent. We will certainly return.

Returned to the restaurant after about 18 months for dinner with friends, the food was exceptional and very good value for money. The anchovy’s and prawns with chilli are great. Decor and service was first class, will not leave it 18 months before we return...

Meal and service good but was marred by not honoring gift vouchers which we were given as a present, we were told they wete only extended for 6 months, which I was told 1 year on the phone, I e-mailed them a number of times...

every dish was very tasty, wide variety to choose from and a nice lager on draught. very small inside but surprisingly not noisy. Will be back.

Food was great. 6 tapas but portion sizes were not great. £5.25 for a pint of bang average Cruzcampo and an eye watering £3.95 for a glass of coke. Wouldn't go back at these drink prices unfortunately.

Unreal tapas, flavourful and tasty. First time trying here and liked everything we ordered. Recommend to anyone who wants to try something a bit different. Have returned her already this month and was just as good as the first time. Young man who served us...

I attended with a friend on a busy Tuesday night and was very impressed with both the service and food. I’ll definitely be back.

I visited for a late Sunday lunch as part of a group of six. On entering my first instinct was to turn round and go elsewhere. I wish I had. I believe the restaurant is breaking all the rules related to physical distancing, with exception of a few screens. Tables are far too close together, and there is no distancing at tables. It is very disappointing to see a restaurant which has so little regard for the well-being of clients.The food is average at best.I will not return .

Decided to try out Tinto tapas uddingston take away for my girlfriends birthday dinner 18/02/21. My girlfriend is Spanish so was feeling under pressure. Did not disappoint in the slightest. Best meal I have had in a long time. The food was fresh and the flavours fantastic. The pollo croquettes were massive, up there with the best I’ve tasted. Gambas pil pil delicious also the bacalao. I probably wouldn’t order the mini burgers again as they were a little dry but that’s it. Was genuinely surprised at how tasty everything was.

We had a lovely lunch here. The restaurant was fairly quiet so no issues with social distancing. Our tapas took a while to arrive but were worth the wait. Absolutely delicious food with clean plates all round. Would highly recommend.

Visited there under the Government offer of 50% off. Food and service was excellent . Even at full price this would be a great place to dine. Great selection including vegetarians .

Wasn't too impressed with fact none of the staff had masks on here, and salt n pepper was on table. My friend who booked wasn't asked for any of her details either, no track and trace.. Food was mediocre.

Arrived at 255pm, table booked for 3om, not ready? Took a few minutes to set up, sat right next to kitchen hatch? Waitress well very uninterested to be honest, had already picked our tapas from a menu prior to arrival, eventually asked if we would like a drink order, then after a wait they arrived, then order taken for food, food was lovely, but mussels smallest we have ever seen!! Ribs minuscule meat on them, young lad on very nice,well presented, but waitress WELL what can i say, no masks, we are still in a pandemic, she looked as if she couldn't care less if she was there or not?!! which in these times she should be thankful of a job, no track n trace????? For such a small establishment, if council or environmental health arrived, would be an issue. So would we return, NO, no thanks for tip we left, but am I surprised??

Wonderful food and service..had a seafood casserole and paella from the specials board and it was superb..size and price of portions makes it real value for money would highly recommend👌

We go here regularly as the food is so delicious. We have tried many of their dishes but we have a few that we particularly like. Especially the fried aubergines in honey, the langoustines and the ribs from the Spanish black pig. Staff very friendly and their home made tablet is to die for. In fact my visiting cousin from Canada whispered to me that it was even better than an orgasm. I found that hilarious and just had to tell the staff much to my cousins embarrassment

First time me and my wife had tried this place and it was brilliant,will definitely return, we missed out on our holiday to fuerteventura so wanted to keep the spanish feel going. Service was first class and food was excellent.

Opted for takeaway tapas and cocktails from this fab restaurant at the weekend , tapas were delicious ( compliments to the chef ) , server Alison was so friendly , efficient and helpful ( patiently giving us lots of choices on the phone ). Was looking for a new place to meet friends and came across Tinto. No idea why l have never known of it before?? Waiter was lovely, friendly without being OTT. Tapas were spot on - tasty and just the right size. Just managed to squeeze a dessert in - devine creme catalan. A local winner for me.

Breakfast offer for 2 £11. We saved 90p with this offer. It was awful fried tomatoes tasted of garlic from hot plate, fried egg wasn't great, mushrooms very black and square sausage was very thin. We were the only customers there at 10.30 for breakfast.Do not waste your time with breakfast

I have been here a few times and the food and service has always been good.I recently went for dinner and all I can say is the Spanish Lady whom I think is the Manager seriously needs to learn some manners and go on a customer service course.She was extremly rude when my husband queried why we hadnt been served all the tapas we had ordered which had already taken an hour to serve.Such a shame as the food is really good but her unprofessional attitude has now put us off returning.

We are regulars at Tinto and I am always pleasantly surprised to see lots of returning customers. Like many dinners trying a new style of food is daunting, Nick at Tinto is good at taking you through the menu and recommending different dishes. The best keep secret is the Steak on the specials board it is cooked to your taste and is an exceptional value.

My husband and I just popped in on way back from some Christmas shopping, I have been a few times and always enjoy it, my hubby always said he is not a fan of tapas, but I have managed to convert him, he enjoyed it even more than me tonight, so I have a feeling we will be back again very soon. I can highly recommend The Gambas pil pil. Very friendly and attentive service. Defo give it a try.

Amazing as usual, food delicious and great warm friendly service.Only complaint is the creamy mushrooms are no longer on the menu, this was one of our favourite dishes! Quick service and great value for money on Tuesdays. Great place to relax with delicious sangria. We will be back soon.

Place is busy quite popular dining out in Uddingston. Girls are quick to take orders and drinks. Easy to book a table by phone.However not good to book online.3 tapas for £10.50It is quite good value for money from 5 pm to 7pm.Its average because the venue is rather small size.Quality of food is ok. You get what you pay.It's an option if you want to dine out. Enjoy the tapas!

Not a fan of Tapas, but the food that was served was fine and my Banana Pancake though very filling was delicious.. One one person serving, so rushed of his feet, but friendly and helpful.

My favourite place for tapas!! Never had a horrible meal, always fresh and tasty. Also it is really good price wise and also do mid week specials. They also do a blue light 10% discount on booking. This place is small and cosy but l prefer that. Great eat locally. Even my husband enjoys it and he is more of a steak man. Give it a try!!

I have visited tinto a handful of times over the years and used to really enjoy the place/staff but this time was the nail in the coffin. First of all, the useless waiter didn’t know about our booking and had a terrible attitude when we questioned what was going on as we were kept at the door for 20 minutes.. He then screwed his face up and spoke down to us in a very angry and rude demeanour. People choosing to eat in this establishment pays his wages and he should be reminded of this!! Took 45 mins for a drink order to be taken but the waiter had no problem on drinking a beer in plain sight when paying customers are waiting in the overly warm restaurant with nothing!!!!! We then realised he was drunk by the way he was acting which is illegal in itself. Finally after 1hr 30 mins being seated the food came was disgusting, burnt croquettes, prawns over cooked like rubber. Everything was full of dripping dark oil and the chicken dish smelled fishy which obviously is a cross contamination problem in the kitchen. We left 90% of the 10 tapas we ordered as it was just turning our stomachs and inedible. Chefs swearing at each other which we could hear from the middle of the room throughout the night- there were children in the restaurant completely unacceptable and made for a awful atmosphere. We wished we had stayed in. Special occasion for me and my parter completely ruined, and without any apology or even discount for the food we never touched (we were charged full price even after complaining) Bad management at its best. The young-ish waiter with dark hair that was drinking the beer behind the bar should be ashamed by the way he conducted himself to us and other paying customers. Foul mannered and downright rude and definitely should not work in customer service. We always give praise where it is due but sadly this time it was the worst experience we’ve had eating out. Wouldn’t waste my money people! you will be very disappointed and leave hungry and offended by staff!

We tried Tinto last night, the service was good no problem with that but the food was sadly average at best when compared to Iberica or Cafe Andaluz.

We visited the restaurant for girls night. We ordered tasty tapas and phenomenal cocktails including two jugs of Cava Sangria. Every single dish was amazing! Service was quite quick for us especially as we had asked for our bread and Olives first then the tapas. Despite this we enjoyed everything and will definetly be back! Thank you to the wonderful staff for a great evening!

Having visited another restaurant in this group, I thought the standard would be consistent, but that was a mistake to make that assumption.

Visited here a number of times. Came again on Saturday night and disappointed, to say the least. Food was bland, fish cakes were barely warm and soggy in the middle, croquettes were claggy and undercooked. The mixed grill fondue thing was expensive, yet meats all could have soled a shoe, and there wasn't the slightest hint of chilli in the fondue. The rabbit with almond sauce is usually lovely, but was dry and no almond flavour at all. The service was fine, and staff are nice. Think they need to look at the chef.

We ate here last weekend with friends and couldn't believe how nice the food was. We ordered several dishes to share between 6 people and the food was quick and really nice. The restaurant is very small and was busy but we didn't wait long for our food and the service was good. I would definitely eat here again.

On finding this little gem of a place we were amazed at the awesome foods we were served. The host/waiter was so genuine and knew the foods he was serving and had a passion for what was on offer. I’ve had tapas all over the world but never have I had the service and quality as I received here, with good company this is easily the best tapas place to enjoy.

2nd visit for us in the space of a few weeks, food was delicious, service was excellent,we ordered 8 tapas between 2 of us along with 2 large cokes and bill was only £32.95, can't rate it high enough , we will definitely be back again

Service terrible, we were a party of 4 having a birthday dinner, our main course was brought out to the table before our starter plates were taken away and the waitress stood there waiting for us to move and clear the plates which we did then she still didn’t take all the plates away instead came with the other 2 main courses and did the same!, food was ok not the best I’ve had in the restaurant, presentation let it down but the service did not improve that. When I complained I got a very insincere sorry. What has made it worse was when I went on the website to make a further complaint they did not even acknowledge it. I certainly won’t be visiting again.

We visited Tinto Tapas for lunch on a Saturday around 12.30pm. We were surprised that the restaurant was so quiet but it meant that we were served our food quickly.

We attended the restaurant for a celebration, the service and food was very good, until we found an unexpected piece of paper/foil in our dinner. No real shock from the staff and no offer to deduct from the bill. We were offered a replacement but that wasn't a palatable choice. Felt a bit rushed out of the door, space was very limited. A bit disappointing.

Just love love love the food here doesn’t matter what you get it’s all amazing and so fresh!! Very reasonably priced too!!

My daughter and I wanted something different for lunch and heard of the tinto so we gave it a try and were not disappointed the food was excellent there was nothing I could fault about the food and service it was quiet for a lunch but did not bother us would definitely go back maybe at dinner time to see if there's a difference in quality which we could not fault at lunch 6 tapas and drinks for £20

Just back from Tintos for my birthday lunch. Great selection of food, all delicious, especially the beef and battered prawns dish. The waiter was pleasant and helpful. Its a very relaxed atmosphere, we all had a lovely time, can't wait to go back next time.

A guy with an anorak greeted us then the waitress removed our jackets from us and said we couldn't have them on the chair..food was OK but not the best and customer service was awful

My girlfriend has just moved to the area and we wanted to try a local restaurant and couldn't have done much better than Tinto tapas. It's quite small and table close together, which makes it intimate, but that doesn't distract from the quality of the food. We had a selection of 6 tapas between us and that was just enough. Each was really tasty and well presented. The staff were good so I have a feeling we will be going back.

My friend and I had a 5pm voucher worth 29.00 1 bottle of wine 6 tapas all okay,We asked for extra bread,a cheese board and 1 glass of wine not included in deal. I was asked for an additional 28.00 ,unfortunately I did not query the bill which I paid for with contactless card. I do not remember if I did get a receipt. I called back on Sunday to be told unless I could find my receipt they cashed up each evening and could not check receipt from night before.When I checked the extra we bought it should have been approximately £18/19.00.I phoned the Hamilton branch looking for a head office number,woman stated she would look into my query I’m still waiting 6 hours later......? Most disappointing. I will never use Tinto Tapas again.

Heard alot of good comments about here so decided to come along and Im really glad we did . The food was great and the sangria was also great . We got all vegetarian things and they were lovely . The staff were all really friendly and accommodating will definitely be back :)

went for lunch.... 8.95 for 3 tapas listed on menu. told when paying bill that the "offers " on the menu weren't in play.... of course no one told us... when challenged the (only) server said "someone should have told you that " .... a nice lunch bec6ame a much more expensive lunch...... not impressed - avoid!!

Tonight we attended for our usual midweek meal at Tinto, Uddingston. This is honestly my favourite restaurant ever, anywhere. The ambiance, service, food quality and location are just perfect.

Went along for Tapas Tuesday which really is a great deal. £2.50 for each tapas on the menu, which you really can't baulk at. Many places would have reduced portion size, but our dishes were a good size and after four each, we were stuffed. Food was tasty and service was good too. Only minor complaint was that the food could have been warmer, it wasn't cold by any means, but not that sizzling way that tapas usually arrives. A lovely option for a cheap and tasty midweek treat.

Food was lovely but not enough staff for how busy restaurant was. My uncle ordered 3 tapas & 1 came at the same time as our dishes but his other 2 dishes we had to ask for & came when the majority of us was nearly finished. The bill was also wrong, 2 desserts we didn’t have and 3 tapas, after checking the written order in front of us the waitress did apologise, due to these errors it made me look at the bill in more detail & noticed we had been charged £2.30 each for kids milk, there was 3 kids that had 2 glasses each so £13.80 for small glasses of milk!!!! I know restaurants need to make a mark up but that is ridiculous but when I asked about it they said that’s what it cost. Put a dampener on what had been a lovely meal & has put me off returning.

Booked a table in advance to meet some friends for a catch up. First thing on arrival we were told the table was required back in 90 minutes...no pressure then! Food was average at best, the tables are squeezed in so tight that other diners have to move to let you by. Two waiting staff who were pretty rushed and doing the best they could. So by the time drinks order was placed, food order placed, food delivered, there was no time for a relaxing chat post dinner as planned. Would not return

I had heard great things about tinto and I was so disappointed food had no taste to it at all everything was fried and over cooked not like it suggested on the menu. Won’t be back

I’ve visited twice so far and the food and service was fabulous on both occasions! I will definitely be back and am looking forward to eating my way up and down the tapas menu.

We found Tinto Tapas by accident, but it was one of the best meals out I’ve had in years. The quality of the tapas was incredible, with the smokiness of the sauce in which the chorizo came, the salted cod, the muscles and the paella of the day being huge highlights. Can’t wait to find an excuse to be in Uddingston again so that I can visit!

Popped down on a Tuesday night with my wife the place was quiet which is rare had a lovely meal we were well looked after by Nick and his team. Always a warm welcome I have always had a nice meal here.

Food and atmosphere were enjoyed. Only slight complaint was there were no mussels dish available due to the bloom of summertime algae. Will have to try again soon as our meal was delicious!

This is a reasonable little Spanish themed restaurant with a varied tapas menu alongside more substantial mains. The lunch deal of 3 tapas for £8.50 is good value. Food is okay although some needed extra seasoning which I thought unusual for tapas. Ok for a quick meal or lunch but would not plan for a special night out.

Been here a couple of times. They advertise breakfast but when we turned up one time for breakfast, chairs were on tables and they were very much not open for breakfast.

Went here last year for a family treat and although we all loved the food which had plenty of choices we didn't like the cramped feeling as the tables were far too close to one another. Although I like tapas I don't think I will Rush back.

We had been really excited to try this one as we had a lovely night at the hamilton Resteraunt a few months ago.

I have been to this restaurant several times over the past few weeks and every dish I have tried has been excellent with first class service even when they are busy. There is a wide selection of tapas to choose from chicken, seafood, meat, vegetables and salads which gives you a wide range of flavours which is what you would expect from a good tapas restaurant. The food is high quality and very reasonably priced especially on Tuesday night where all dishes are £2.50 but it does get full so you might need to book. I would definitely recommend trying if you are in the area

Popped in wihout a reservation for an early dinner. The restaurant has an intimate and rustic atmosphere. I liked the decor and the furnishings. The tapas menu was varied. We ordered and the waitress made some recommendations.

A small group of three this visit(and the guide dog puppy in training). We were met by a very pleasant (Italian) waitress. Food was all lovely and the service was very prompt. Well worth a visit.
