Tried this place a year ago & it was good, tried it s year later & it was awful. Soup thin & tasteless, & much more expensive than before, charged 50p extra for a tiny bit of supermarket baguette. Cheaper coffee too. The best thing about the place before was Michael & he was nowhere to be seen the couple times we been in this week. All in all was awful,we won't be going back Not even if Michael was serving up his Glesga Patter.

Came here for a light lunch. There's inddor and outdoor seating, but because of social distancing, the indoor seating is about 5 tables and the decor looked in need of some refresh. There was light rain, so I had to sit inside. Most of the menu is standard British fare. There are some international favourites on the menu, but I just went with the Eggs Florentine and a Latte.I've had Eggs Florentine many times before and this was just about the most disappointing one ever. There was too much water left on the egg and as soon as I cut into the egg whites, the water flowed out soaking the muffin below. What should've been a lovely crisp texture mixed with soft eggs just turned into soggy chewy muffin mixed with eggs. You can see from the photos just how much water was in the eggs. I also pointed this out when the waiter came to collect my dish, who claimed that water was normal. Erm .. no .. I don't think so. Years of eating this dish tells me the water should be drained properly before being served, and no it is NOT normal. Both the Egg Florentine and latte very very average, with the former disappointing in the way it was served. TBH, I blame myself for not checking the reviews properly. There's such a mixed bag of ratings, it's inevitable that there's going to be good and bad days.

Never been before, driving through the town on a cold wet morning looking for a cafe, managed to park across the street, thought we would pop in and give it a go. Was met with a very warm welcome by a charming man who offered us hot drinks to heat us up straight away. Had a great breakfast of bacon, sausage, black pudding, beans, mushrooms, potato scone, egg and a slice of toast for only £6.50. Generous portion, piping hot, well cooked - what more could you want! Can imagine it would do a good lunch, the menu had a good choice all reasonably priced. Only drawbacks - the size of the room, with lots of tables quite close together so not easy for prams, and no public toilet. Cash only. But if we are in the area again and need a bite to eat we would certainly go back.

My daughter fancied a nice cake as a treat for after dinner so I went to Dell Anita's. I can't fault the staff and the welcome - both lovely. Bought a square of caramel shortcake, which was a decent size, and two slices of chocolate Tiffin, which looked delicious. Got them in a box to take away which was very welcome. Tried the cakes after dinner and was very disappointed indeed. The caramel shortcake was all right, but nothing that you couldn't make yourself. (It's my husband's favourite, but too sweet for me). My daughter and I tried the Tiffin and I am very sorry to say that it was inedible. The biscuit mix was dry and crumbly and the chocolate on top was really unpleasant thick slab of cooking chocolate, which, as you will know, is very fatty and lacks any chocolate flavour or content. They went in the bin, so not our best venture. The menu for food looks really varied and tasty so maybe we will try sitting in for lunch.

Friendly bistro with good food. Menu is varied and has a daily specials board. Usually has 3 soups on offer, all delish. Not suitable for wheelchairs as place is small and tables are close together. No public toilet only staff toilet which if you ask you can use this. Michael is amazing and very accommodating, always service with a smile. Good selections of beverages and coffee is excellent. Good selection of cakes, scones etc. Would recommend this place for a nice lunch, breakfast or coffee and a cake. Unlicensed.

Dropped in for a coffee to the Dell Anita, Michael was very Welcoming in a , well if you were.local you'd understand , a stranger might take a offense at the constant trying to serve some Glasgow patter mixed with Italia pathos ,but we endured and ordered soup, coffee and sandwiches all to come at the one time the staffanaged this and we were served quite quickly , soup was minestrone , sandwich was filled with thin steak and a cup of Latte to wash it down , was all good , good but not great , but fairly homely , , only went for a coffee and ended up with a brunch ... maybe we did have a nicer time than we thought and at £21.00 it did not break the bank....

My friend and I popped into for something to eat. As soon as we arrived someone from behind the counter “shouted” across the shop. “We close in 10 mins, what do you want”. This was very embarrassing! I asked what could we have and was told, only filled rolls so we said that would be fine (we really wanted a meal). Anyhow it eventually came but during waiting the staff were talking very loudly to each other and made us feel very uncomfortable! We eat quickly and left. For what we paid we could have had a decent meal. Place was nice and rolls were nice but being nice to customer costs nothing. Very dissatisfied. Shame !

Went into this restaurant on Saturday morning for a late breakfast. Read the menu and as a vegetarian asked if I could have the breakfast without the sausage and the bacon. "Oh I don't think we will be able to do that" I was told " but will ask". Incredulous I waited only to be told "No we can't do it." They had the eggs, the tomatoes and the baked beans but they couldn't put it on a plate for me. This is like going into a chip shop where they have fish and chips and asking if you can have just the chips only to be told "No we can't do that."No explanation, no apology was given.Instead we had tasteless Macoroni Cheese.Glasgow is the fourth largest city in the Uk. Come on Del Anita's move into the 21st Century.Needless to say we won't be back until you do.

Have had similar experiences both times I have visited this coffee shop (first time I thought maybe the waiter/owner was having a bad day). The food is lovely and reasonably priced. Coffee and hot chocolate are both delicious. Shame that soft drinks aren't served with ice. Unfortunately I won't be returning because of the rude male member of staff (older guy, very grumpy, no people skills whatsoever). I felt like I was an inconvenience and he treated children with disdain. On speaking to others about my experience, I found that they had similar experiences. It's such a shame because feeling at ease and being looked after are important parts of going for a meal. With several other coffee shops in the area and a Costa coffee opening soon, Dell Anita's will have to up its game in terms of customer service to retain customers.

I dont drink coffee, so coffee houses are not "my thing". But on a freezing day where spending some time with Mum and Aunt is due then a coffee house it is. What a find! I only live 159m from Dell Anitas and now feel a bit ashamed of never frequenting before.Opened the door to a blast of warm air and a cosy cottage kind of feel. The little place is stuffed with comfortable chairs and tables all at the same level with little room for movement but it only adds to the cheery personality of the banterful waiter. Low cyndrical lampshades are a nice touch. We ordered pancakes and maple syrup, 2 plates between 3 was more than enough. They were simply devine!!!!! Proper thin crispy on the outside and oozing a buttery moistness on the inside served with the perfect amount of syrup on the side. Not had a perfect pancake since I was about 6 and "The Pancake Place" chain was still in gear. I watched as customers of all ages (provided a pic, sorry if iv made someones grandparent unvoluntary famous) come and go, a constant stream of people.I watched as people waited outside in the freezing cold for a table and i watched the waiter go outside to assure them it wouldnt be long.....how compassionate is that in todays society....touching.I watched as plate after plate exited the kitchen with golden toasties and fresh popped up salad, crispy french toast, chilled home baking, melt in the middle ciabattas and fluffy plump sunny fries.I watched as the grand master Anita meticulously carved baguettes, ensuring the filling was evenly and generously consistent when folded over.I watched as she cracked the whip at her staff and told them to "keep moving" in their already buzzy ethos, her staff are a credit to her. Pleasant and obliging.I watched as every single customer was acknowledged when they entered or left, many on a first name basis.I watched as people of all ages from babies, hungover 20somethings munching a full fry up at 1pm, 30somethings wandering in during a walk, workies popping in for a takeaway butty all the way up to elderly lonesomes who obviously enjoy the company of just being social.....everyone of them smiled being in here and with good reason!!Prices falling in the normal category of about 3 quid for a coffee, 6 quid for a main meal....you know, good grub for good price. Im more observant of the quality of food and service than price.I have 2 little gripes. They didnt stock ice for my juice and i still smell a bit like a toastie after being in Anitas for just over an hour. Small prices to pay.Been to many many places all over the globe, most of which iv not documented on Trip Advisor but the overall perception of Dell Anitas is unsurpassed and i felt i had to give credit where its due. Service, food, cleanliness, banter, an enthusiatic hands on boss (im the one who asked if id done your hair in Rusks) and it is most definately part of my top 5. This skinny critic says Dell Anitas has the "catering to food and customers" malarky by the balls.See you guys again very soon.

We recently moved to Uddingston and had been here several Saturday's on the trot as it was local and the food was good. However after 2 incidents with a member of staff I would highly recommend not to touch this place with a barge pole. My daughter went in on her own and I was not there but she was very rudely ticked off about her manners by a staff member called Michael. She was reduced to tears. When my wife went in to ask what the problem was she was given a verbal assault which she actually reported to the police, being aggressively lectured about the way she had brought up my daughter. He was eventually practically restrained by another staff member, the owners father. Completely unacceptable. I visited later and spoke to the manager Anita who seemed very disinterested but took my number as all we really wanted was an apology but even that seemed to be too muchthe guy. Plenty of other nicer places to go and be treated like a human being in the local area. Customer service nil. Will not be back.

Myself and my friend attempted to enter this cafe earlier today. However we were physically prevented from doing so when an arrogant member of staff (who I assumed to be the owner) ran to the door to stop me from entering. Advising me that "prams are too difficult". I was not sure what he meant at first as I have seldom been met with such an attitude. However he continued to stand in my way, stopping me from proceeding and kept repeating that prams are too difficult. There was ample space at a table which had become available at the window so I really did not understand why we should be met with this discrimination. Just to clarify his point I asked him was he turning away two mothers with their prams. I had to ask twice as I was in complete disbelief. I then advised him not to worry and I would not be spending any of my money there. This is far from a welcoming establishment.
