Went here with some friends after working up an appetite swimming. Food was absolutely stellar and all staff gave an excellent service with a smile. Great range of food and very accommodating to dietary needs, it can be a struggle to find somewhere with as many options for dairy/gluten free diets. 10/10 will definitely be back regularly.
We had a pleasant dinner in the Library at Dumfries House as part of a Christmas Festive Candlelit Tour of the house. With extravagant Christmas decorations the setting for a festive dinner was superb. Service by the young staff was very good and the dinner satisfactory though no choice. It was traditional Christmas fare but somewhat dry, overcooked turkey while the smoked salmon with salmon mousse was perfect. I would do it again!
I don’t come from the area but popped in as I was early for an appointment nearby. Ordered bacon roll & coffee and then asked to use the toilet. When I came out the girl said to take a seat & she would bring it over. I offered to pay at this point using my phone then she said it was cash only.
Unfortunately I did not have any cash on me. I apologised and was about to leave then the girl smiled and said “wait, you can have the roll” and she made me a bacon roll in a bag to take away.
I’ve not been able to get this simple kind gesture out of my head for the last 24 hours and makes me smile just thinking about it.
I didn’t catch her name but I hope she reads this and knows that her kindness had a very positive impact.
Ohhhhh……& the bacon roll was delicious!
On a cold day and in need of something hot to eat we popped into the Coffee Pot while passing through Cumnock. More of a traditional cafe than coffee shop they have a decent menu of Scottish favourites such as macaroni cheese and chips, mince and chips, haggis, soups etc., and a selection of hot filled rolls (including a roll ‘n mince) as well as more exotic fare such as chicken tempura.
We chose a couple of ranch burgers that were perfectly cooked, nicely presented and very tasty. Service was warm and friendly and, all in all, this is a super cafe.
Awful service. Ordered a rare boxset they had in stock, only for them to wait 3 days before taking it off the shop floor, by which time it had already been sold. Incredibly poor service, definitely would not trust them to actually have in stock what their shop says, save yourself a headache, go elsewhere for everything.
A very scrumptious cream tea rounded off a very pleasant walk to the Abbey.
the COVID safe protocols were very well worked out / organised. Food & Drink ordered at the window and delivered to your well spaced table.
Well done all for making us feel safe & comfortable.
The restaurant was freezing. One of us ordered a baked potato which caused the delivery time to be very lengthy. Food was ok but not great. Atmosphere was lacking a little but perhaps because it had just opened for the day and had not really got going. Probably would not be going back but ok for a nothing special lunch
Well if you want to meet nice waiting staff here is the place to go ,order placed and double checked. All good you think ?
If you think there's a chef back there that can read the order then you are wrong .
Burger ordered ,no cheese, brought out with cheese !
Goats cheese "pizza"( baguette )without the goats cheese
And the icing on the cake Meat chilli instead of 5 bean vegetarian chilli !
The waitress noticed the no goats cheese as she served it and took it away to bring it back with dollops of cheese added ( not melted).
My husband put up with cheese on the burger .My sister thought? is this Quorn or real mince and it was sent back as the waitress confirmed it was real mince !
On going to pay the bill I expected the chilli to be taken off the bill as I hate that it's arriving later and one person is eating on their own , to be told by the chef ,in his 25 years in the industry he has never heard of anyone taking a meal off the bill because it was wrong ,nor did he apologize! His attitude was you got it didn't you ,you aren't getting you fed meat to a vegetarian!
He actually had a really bad attitude with me saying I'll take a couple of quid off but not £10.50 .I said it's the first time I've visited and it will be my last and he said he would have said more but there were other customers there ! If you had videoed it you'd still think unbelievable did it really happen .
A cafe in the middle of nowhere, thought we would give it a try as it was dog friendly and had a garden centre.
We bypassed plants and I'd rather have given the £50 I wasted there to charity .
Awful,awful guy . AVOID!
Food was lovely, had a gluten free range aswell without any issues staff could advise what was gluten free from menu - value for money aswell as big portions
While shopping in Kilmarnock, called into this coffee shop and experienced a great welcome from the staff. Blair, Becca and Fiona were so friendly and attentive during our visit. They are great ambassadors for the shop. Food made quickly while you relax and it is brought to your table. Good atmosphere too. Will be back for sure. This is a must visit place when in the area.
This place has permanently closed and I have a £50 voucher to use. Need my money back. If anyone has contact details for this place please send to me. Raging
Popped in for a takeaway for two, chilli chicken Korma was absolutely delicious, creamy with just the right amount of chilli kick, chicken Karahi was also amazing.
We will definitely be back and will probably sit in on our next visit.
