A very scrumptious cream tea rounded off a very pleasant walk to the Abbey. the COVID safe protocols were very well worked out / organised. Food & Drink ordered at the window and delivered to your well spaced table. Well done all for making us feel safe & comfortable.

I enjoyed the made in the cafe by the 2 ladies who were also serving the Gluten Free Peach Melba Cake and later on the Gluten Free Cream tea. All sitting is outside so it needs to be a dry day but then to get the most out of visiting Hartland Abbey a dry day is recommended. Also available were a few Gluten Free lunch items e.g soup, jacket potato.

We spent a couple of hours exploring the woodland walk, the garden round the Abbey and the walled kitchen garden. All very impressive but we would love to see it in spring and summer to see it at its best. It is an impressive property but the best bit is the display inside. It was riveting. I went in to look at the shop but couldn't get past the display in the rooms leading to the shop. All very interesting and then in the shop itself, so much memorabilia from a bygone age. It was truly magical and fascinating. Lunch was also excellent and well organised in line with current restrictions.

It was a hot day and i was late arriving back from the beach, i thought i'd be lucky to get anything savoury which i really wanted so late now around 3pm and with the Covid 19 yet they kindly obliged with a generous Crab salad ( gluten free so i didn't want bread) Ordered through the window and delivered to a distant table complete with a brown paper bag for me to take away any rubbish. All very well organised and presented. Thank you

We had an excellent lunch here after visiting the gardens. They were very well set up for Covid compliance, orders being taken through a window, then being bought outside when ready. We had cheesy scones with bacon and melted cheese, they were absolutely delicious, and all the cake is homemade and equally as good.

We enjoyed coffee and lovely home made cake (gluten free for me) in the lovely old tea room before visiting the gardens and house.

Good choice of home baked goods - both sweet and savoury which taste as good as they look. Authentic Devon fayre including pasties and of course cream teas. Delicious and great value.

This is not to be missed whether you are just stopping for a cuppa, lunch or in our case some of their homemade cakes. I just loved the coffee and walnut cake but my wife had the Victoria sponge with fresh strawberries and whipped cream. You will need a walk afterwards. Lovely friendly and happy staff.

Always great food and service, they’ve really turned the place around from a cafe to a restaurant. Going to give the steak night a try next!

My husband and I visited the Abbeygreen Cafe today for lunch enroute from Elgin to Warwickshire. It is ideally situated just off the M74 motorway. We had a warm welcome from the friendly staff and the food, drink and service were excellent. Prices were very reasonable . We would highly recommend. !
