The best restaurants in Stonehaven and Lower Deeside Aberdeenshire North East Scotland

Decent food although with no apparent seating indoors we could not understand how it is classed as a restaurant. It seems to be just a take away chip shop.

Ordered two Special set meals and the food was amazing. Portions were very generous including rice, the onion bhajis and bombay tatties were very tasty. Main courses were excellent, faultless and plenty of meat. Fast and efficient delivery service. Will definetly return for a takeaway again soon.

Lovely gentleman who served myself & my partner today! Very friendly and welcoming, even treated our little pup to a cup of sausages 🥺🫶🏽! Highly recommend! Amazing food for a great price also. Definitely coming back again 😌

The Creel never fails to deliver excellent food served in a great atmosphere. The food and service is beyond reproach. Last night a large party of rowers appeared expecting to be served drinks. The staff were excellent and ensured the regulars were looked after.

Fish & chips were very tasty but we expected a bit more for our money. You used to get quite a large piece of fish & loads of chips which I could never finish however this time, the piece of fish was so small & definitely wasn't value for money.

Went in for some food and drink and what I got was not great for the price that there charging for food £8.49 for 3 chicken strips

Stopped here for a quick bite for lunch on Monday 29th March 2021. I had egg mayo and onion sandwich and my partner had a cheese and tuna sandwich, both were on white bread. They were made fresh and we sat in the square to eat them. Absolutely delicious. Egg Mayo tasted delicious and the bread was fresh. Plenty of filling in both sandwiches. Tuna and cheese was delicious also. Will definitely be back! Lovely woman served us, very friendly.

This restaurant is an absolute gem! From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with warm hospitality and the atmosphere was simply enchanting. The food was a culinary masterpiece, every dish bursting with flavor and beautifully presented, and the service was impeccable, making for an unforgettable dining experience.

Came in on Saturday for coffee / drinks / snacks. Between all of our friends we spent £120+. The waitress with short hair was nothing but rude the entire time we were there clearly didn’t want us there from minute we walked in. We noticed tables were reserved for later on in the afternoon but at the time we went ins had plenty of time for drinks and to eat some chips etc. First time we went in since moving up to Stonehaven will definitely be sticking to other places in future like station hotel where you feel welcomed. If you don’t want groups coming in for drinks / snacks etc then don’t offer that. Extremely rude.

We were a walk in table for a Friday night. The owner guy was so miserable , so unwelcoming ! I’d go as far to say that he was bordering on being rude . Food was very mediocre . Will not be back

Disfrutamos de un almuerzo encantador en el Ploughman hoy. La píldora de langostinos me fue recomendada como entrada y no decepcionó. La carne asada para el principal también fue una gran opción. Gran servicio. Definitivamente volveré. Será.

Firstly very pleasant and attentive staff. Restaurant is spotless. Now the food, Bean Curd starter was amazing followed by Twice Cooked Pork which was to die for. Wife had Jiang Bao Chicken and Soft Noodles. Best Chinese meal we have ever had. Brilliant dining experience.

The place is nicely situated in the middle of the town. Went here for breakfast and while the service was really nice and friendly, the quality of the breakfast was a let down. The sausages and beans were from a very cheap range. It would have been better to see locally sourced ingredients used (there is a very good butchers in Stonehaven, so no excuse). I realise this may push the prices up, but it would make for a better experience and it would be good to see local businesses supporting each other. On a positive, the coffee was really good.

After a recommendation from my eldest son, we went for pizza this week, OMG the food is excellent and the donner calzones are so delicious, loaded with meat, wrapped in an excellent dough and mouth watering good

I was really wanting italian so I looked up 'italian' in Stonehaven and Gino's came up. We went there for lunch and it was great. The hot chocolate was amazing. the pasta dishes where all great everyone was happy with what they received. I'd happily return anytime =)
