I have been multiple times when I holiday in Aberdeen. On almost every occasion, the food has been delicious and incredible (but very pricey). However losing one star because on my last visit my salads were swimming in oil, I had to pour off about half a teacupful of oil. Everything still tasted greasy. I assume someone else made the salads that day and had screwed it up. The postings about dirty cutlery and dirty floors and tables that need wiping and clearing are correct. The staff could be a LOT more active and attentive to these important details rather than stand around absently as they often seem to do.

Great Welcome by the staff, thanks to Steven and Alexander. Gave good tips for the next stay and were a good laugh too. Rooms were great and overall service was brilliant
The bar and bar staff are so nice lovely food great atmosphere, but after going outside to smoke and trying to get back in to my friends a member of the door team refused my entry I had not had a single alcoholic drink he then said I should convince him to let me in then started being inappropriate towards me,The power clearly went to his head I called my friends to come out and we landed up leaving, maybe the door staff need retraining or sacked before we think about coming back

Sadly, we were a bit disappointed by our time here. Spent a fair amount of time picking a place for our few hours on a Sunday in Aberdeen, and decided to come here for their Sunday Roast offering.
First off, service wasn't the greatest. It didn't *seem* to be short staffed (though it's impossible for me to know), but maybe moreso disorganized operations?
Ordered a couple of cocktails, and those came out quick and we're very good.
The buffet had a nice selection, but definitely did not get much attention, and the quality of the different items varied quite a bit (the tomato basil soup just tasted like pasta sauce?)
We both ordered the beef main, and this was the most disappointing part. Two super thin slices of beef, veggies and potatoes that seemed like they were cooked hours prior and just kept warm (think hard-sticky on glazed root veggies), and the Yorkshire pudding dense and tough. Gravy was good, at least!
Maybe it was just a one-off experience, but sadly we'll probably avoid other Malmaison restaurants for awhile.
