I know my food, if you're in your late 40s/50s and want to sample the nostalgia of waking up on a Saturday morning in the 70s to the sight of two almost cleaned plates by the couch, with maybe 3 single rice on each and an onion if you're lucky then this the place to go to. I kid you not this brings back the taste of old school to me with the taste and the authenticity of the guid folks delivering it. I've been eating takeaways all my days almost from Glasgow to Edinburgh, Dundee and beyond and can assure you this is one of the best chinese takeaways I've had the pleasure of eating from and I've had a few meals now and thankfully is right on my doorstep. Well done chef and staff 5/5.

Just off the A7 in the middle of Hawick, Wilton Park is a green oasis, dog friendly with a great kiddies playground and a lovely new Cafe. Follow the signs to Wilton Museum and Park, but do not go into the museum entrance, the Park is signed as the next road on the left. There is no specific park parking but a road with parking runs alongside the park. You can see down onto.the park and.there are paths down the slope. The cafe is new, clean and with pleasant staff. Dogs welcome inside and.out.

Arriving in Galashiels on a cold, miserable morning we were disappointed to find that the delightful Why Not coffee shop has closed. There didn't seem to be an alternative but then we spotted that the Great Tapestry building has a coffee shop. Really excellent! Spacious, airy, comfortable, with excellent home baking and coffee, and really friendly staff. We shall know where to go in future.

Our 1st trip of the year to Peebles. We were really looking forward to our lunch here in the beer garden. However, we were told that no food could be served out there as only 2 staff on duty. An idea, instead of a person having to come out and take orders, why not just let people order at the bar as how it was in the past. Also, the menu has changed dramatically. I am wondering if the ownership has changed again since, wetherspoons days. We were there last year and it was so much better. In the end we had a takeaway from Greggs. Such a shame, really ruined our day.

Had an excellent lunch with friends. Steak and chips and others had fish and chips. Service was pleasant and friendly. Only comment was that the restaurant was chilly. It was a Monday and the restaurant was quiet but a few degrees warmer would have been more pleasant.
