I've used it quite a bit ,everything has been brilliant ,kebab ,king rib etc

Don’t ever leave bad reviews but after calling to warn them that I was given wrong things on my pizza as I have allergies he was not very helpful unfortunately was told to take back for them too see but I live 30 mins away from chip shop so that wasn’t happening so got a pizza was to be chicken peppers anchovies amd murshroom as soon as home I was starving took one bite could smell fish and was very fishy and salted taste was worst thing ever I wasn’t fussed about a refund I just wanted to warn them that there is either something off or there has been fish put on pizza what ever it was was brown and gritty and very salty was worst taste ever but I was basicly told I had what I asked for and also had anchovies when I didn’t guy was rude for a manager after warning them. So won’t be back hope I don’t fall really ill with my food allergies :(

Shockingly bad fish often smells off and late and cold deliveries .Used it out of convenience a few times thinking it must av been having a bad day but won’t again.The owners are rude and make out your just taking up there time .Doesn’t deserve any stars

Food nice ordered 10 inch donner and onion pizza all they did was make a cheese and onion pizza and stick donner meat on top every other place I've ordered from put it all together and then cook it, it was nice though

I order from here quite a lot, they always do fresh food and their chips are delicious. I usually have a grilled burger without the onions with an extra slice of tomato instead, and they get this right every single time. They’ve even put smiley faces in my burger box just for that added friendly bonus! I do order different things sometimes but this is my go-to usually. It’s fresh too and most of the time the bun isn’t soggy with the sauces, love them! Staff are friendly. Food is fresh. Prices are very reasonable for what you get. Worth the money. Best chippy in Gala! Highly recommend trying. Parking can be difficult at times outside the shop, but there is free parking near it.

Visited during Gala Day and regretted. I understand it must have been a busy day, but staff wasn't very welcoming. The portion was too big and chips were soft and cold. I'd rather pay more to get better quality and more flavoursome food elsewhere.

First time trying (1/5/23) ordered fish and chips with extra bag of chips and a seven inch spicy chicken pizza. The chips were beautiful. Not greasy at all. Plentiful portion. The fish was really nice and again plentiful portion. The pizza was seven inches as I said and cute as... It was really tasty. Thick base (I prefer a thin base but did not ask for a thin base) I am sure they would give you a thin base if you ask when ordering. Easy access. Small challenge for wheel chair users with adverse camber pavement outside and plus crollas is right in a bend in the street so presents a challenge for wheel chair users. The food gets 10/10. I will be back. No photos as the food was eaten too quick...

Not acceptable to get cold chips

Bought what were sold as spring rolls from here, not sure what the actual contents were as ended up in a bin. To say they were disgusting is actually a compliment!! My advice - stay away.

Ha !! Like this place SO much now that whenever returning in evenings from Borders to Edinburgh I now find myself diverting through Gala. to get my haggis+chips here. Lovely big portions and BIG helping of brown sauce :-)))

It was bad First the person coking the pizza mistakes the tuna with anchovies so salty is a understated coment Then the kebab's where so full of salad that there was very little meat in them So if we could go on negative stars it would be 5 negative stars for the shop and there food Also another advice about the shop is if you are going to wait make sure you stay in the shop and yes I did outside so the 10 minutes become 25 minutes as they give preference to the delivery orders So I guess by now you have an idea if I will be going back NO NO NO

Wouldn’t even give one star, ordered fish and chips, was eating the chips when I felt something hard in my mouth, to find part of someone’s noticeably dirty fingernail! Took the food back to the shop and was accused of planting it myself - which is an awful lot of effort to go to for the sake of £8, and my nails are painted pink! Was told it couldn’t be his nail and the girls that work there all wear acrylics and have there nails painted too (never heard of a food placing allowing nails painted/fake nails etc) also could be the actual nail under the fake nail! The man was rude and couldn’t care less, I asked what he was going to do about it and he gave me a partial refund grumpily and then said what do you expect me to do dna test it - with an attitude, then walked away while I was talking. Environmental health will be contacted tomorrow, would avoid at all costs!

Great fish and chips snd people are really friendly

They got half the order right but put red onions on a cheeseburger when the person it was meant for is allergic to them and I asked for relish instead of mayonnaise

Whoever is working in kitchen should wear some hat or something as again I found blonde /white hair in my chips. For last two years standards have been dropping lower and lower… Won’t order again waste of money and from what I see I’m not the only one who thinks that

only good thing was it arrived apart from that my chips were half cooked and the fried pizza was cold and greasy as hell, but the worst thing was the garlic bread it was rock hard and un edible and it even pierced my lip leaving me bleeding, i will defo not be ordering again,

Rotten, sent greasy food late & got order wrong sending red sauce instead of brown (took pictures of it) they asked for them back and gave us correct replacements then phoned me about 15 minutes later with abuse (swearing very rude) calling me a liar even with proof, horrible food, horrible staff STRONGLY RECOMMEND NOT USING, Langlee much better and friendlier.

Not impressed anymore and standards have definitely slipped. Prices are highest around with the food quality and portion sizes being mediocre at best. Much better places within very short walking distance for anything related to the pizza/kebab counter. I would not recommend anymore and try not to visit.

Best pizza in Galashiels by a long shot! Staff are super nice and if there order is later than they stated by even 5/10 mins they are super apologetic and give you a free drink. Prices are just right as well £16 for a 14inch pizza and a big bag of chips. Place is immaculate as well, clearly keep a really strict cleaning practice.

Ordered a pizza through just eat. Food was taking over the estimated time to come after 2 hours of waiting. We had phoned again to be told that the driver phoned and no one answered (we had no one call us) the extremely rude woman then told us we were lying to her or calling her a liar. Either way she was extremely rude. It was ordered to a student complex so there was the option to ring bell at reception. We did not receive any food and have wasted £30.

Went in and put an order in and thought the woman said £33 something so I handed her 4 ten pound notes and noticed her looking confused as she put them in the til so it made me think for a second and realised she had actually said £23 something so I said to her I gave her 4 ten pound notes as I never heard her properly and she said no it was definitely 3 ten pound notes , I explained to her it was definitely 4 ten pound notes as I thought you told me the price was £33 and not £23 and she arrogantly told me I was wrong even though she knew I was right especially when it confused her looking at the 4 tenners in the 1st place , it was down right theft

Nice treat for a family chippie tea but the chips are a hit or miss at times regardless of time ordered but the mains are always great especially the White pudding..

I only bought chips and a bottle of chippy brown sauce. But the chips were excellent, and the bottle of chippy sauce is coming back to London with me because nobody down there knows how to make proper sauce for chips.

If you like cold fish suppers delivered or like paying for 12in pizzas with 4 topping and only gets 10in with1 topping this chippy is the place for you p.s the customer service is 2nd to none all i got from the wee angry man was bring it back bring it back !! I took it back next day wee angry man gave me a percentage of said pizza money back and would not even acknowledge the 10in pizza in front of him RIP off chippy passing of 10in for 12 disgrace

I'm disgusted I just ordered two pizzas and paid for them just for them to say it will be 2 and a half hours , after cancelling the pizzas after finding out it would be over two hours I discovered the cash had allready bin taken and they cant refund me them sells not only that they cant give me my pizzas .. I'm a very well known yellper and I know what I post could be catistropic for there reputation, I am a regular customer and this never usually happens but this needs fixed asap or I will post this on all social media and the critics websites I review for ..... this should not stop other people ordering as I'm sure this a one off but I am very angry at the response from them it was after all £33 for no food

Been ordering from Crollas since moving to Gala and never had an issue. Always had a reasonable delivery time, and got a good repore with the delivery driver. Food is always good.

So ordered through Just Eat tonight at 6.27pm. Message came through to pick it up at 7.25pm......almost 1 hour wait which wasn't ideal but use this Chippy alot do i was ok with that. I actually went down earlie than i was asked to. The meals were all prepared and wrapped up in the hot cabinet. When I got home and plated the meal it was all soft and soggy and also wasn't hot at all. It was disgusting I am afraid and had to put almost all of it in the bin!! Far from happy

Ordered food and arrived. Fishcakes were cold. Pizza was warm at best. Chips were stone cold. Phoned them up we can give your fresh tonight or we keep for next time?? I now need to wait 45 minutes as they have other orders. Yet you'd think i would be prioritised since they kept the food under the hotlight for too long.

Felt that "Just Eat " customers had priority . Was only after the last available fish went to a home.delivery customer, that other fish were even battered. I had thought about fish all day, and ended up with chicken as was not prepared to wait.Poor customer service Volume of on line orders is known, therefore that should inform the number of foodstuffs needed. Get organised!

terrible attitude and more interested than taking your money than giving good service.Food not so good and if you order to be delivered you can be waiting hours only to find they have lost your order.I would not recommend. Better chippies in langlee,selkirk ,melrose or earlston

Staff are very rude and argumentative and any food due to be home delivered will be delivered 45 minutes to an hour late every time, guaranteed.

Don't bother ordering for collection, 15 minutes late in their own time estimate.

Really good chippy, fish and chips were great (and really big)

This is not the first time that I have ordered a delivery from Crollas for it to be over 2 hours late. Will order from another town next time and I'm sure it will be a hell of a lot quicker.

Ordered a takeaway from just eat. Food arrived cold. The donor kebab was disgusting, absolutely covered in a thick mayonnaise, plastered with cold mayo which did not taste of garlic. The kebab meat was dried out and crusted. It was inedible. The pizza was cold and greasy . The fish cakes were burnt and tasteless. The white pudding supper was edible but Luke warm. Total waste of money . Never again

I ordered a home delivery last year. Arrived 2 hours later was cold, soggy chips, worst I have ever had. Went tonight with my friend and we both got horrible food once again, was cold again. Only chip shop in the town, definetly room for another chip shop.

Have used crollas for the past 5 years. Food is decent although I find it a bit more expensive than the other local takeaways. Phoned up tonight to place an order for collection. When I arrived to collect the food, I queried why I was bring charged 60 pence more than I should've been. I was told by a very apologetic member of staff that the owner has decided to charge customers for phoning an order in for collection! I've never heard of anything so ridiculous before, so not only do I use my own phone to order, fuel to go and collect, I have now to pay for that privilege!! Sorry but I wont be back until if and when this silly policy is removed.

Absolutely rank. Worst chippy I've had in years. Dry fish, undercooked chips cooked in oil that tasted awful. Pickled onions were off. Never again.

Just picked up a chicken kebab - chicken pieces stuffed in a pitta bread - most bland meal ever - no salad, no sauce and cost a hefty £7.50 - so disappointing- won't be back!

Horrendous customer service. Ordered food on just eat and specified a time. The food came 30 minutes early so it was freezing by the time we were all together to eat it! Telephoned down and asked for the manager who said he was busy... It was our fault and there was no specified time! There was a specified time but was passed back to one of his colleagues who then passed me back to him! He was far to busy to speak because of his other customers!

If you're in galashiels and your hungry then dont drive by Crollas as they do the best chicken Pakora in the borders.

Waited over an hour and a half for a burger and chips.. Not the first time I've waited over a hour either.. Its horrendous tbh

Chips are really nice as is the homemade steak pie however one member of staff is arrogant and rude so much so I avoid the place when he's working

food tastes cheap it is pretty disgusting to be honest...don’t waste your money..maybe once they see this they’ll buy better quality produce so people will actually get something worthwhile after handing over their cash

Absolutely terrible, the fish and chips I ordered was 90% overcooked batter and 10% barely edible fish. That was a couple of weeks ago, I finally went back today against my better judgment to be told the fryers were off and there was no fish. Think it was a saving grace,and went hungry instead.

Chips were absolutely disgusting. Phoned up to make a complaint n all we got was cheek and attitude of the staff i.e boss. Then when driver came to give me money back for the awful chips he literally slammed the money into my hand. Absolutely disgusting behaviour be the last time i go in here for food.
