The best restaurants in Galashiels and District Scottish Borders Lowlands

My husband and I stopped by here for lunch. The train ticket we had purchased had taken us to Tweedbank, but we quickly reboarded after realizing there were many more options to be had in Galashiels. Dave's was one of the places that popped up after a Google query. Despite having just made it past the lunch rush, the person at the counter was very cordial. We told he that we were celebrating our first anniversary/latermoon and gave us a baked treat and a recommendation for a nearby park whereby to enjoy it. I'd highly recommend Dave's if you are looking for a tasty yet affordable lunch spot.

Well I guess I went in there to get a coffee and a sandwich and then went back for lunch it was average I was in the cafe 1st time on my own and then I went with a friend

My breakfast was spoiled by the overcooked eggs, yolks were burst and hard! 3 hairs found on plate!

Fantastic little place for Japanese Easr Asian food. Had Sashimi & seaweed salad. Loved it a great addition to the places in Galashiels to eat out or take away !!

After a spoiled lunch we all went to my favourite place just to change my mood because this is my favourite place to be. Had mango and coconut ice milk shake ahhhh that was amazing. Simpled loved it.

I was I today for a quick lunch. It was my first visit but couldn’t fault the service. The lady who served me was fantastic. Nothing too much hassle, genuine interest in speaking with me and a lovely lunch served. She’s a credit to the business.

Usually have good food from this place but ordered for collection the other night when in Gala. When we got home found part of order was incorrect we ordered duck spring rolls but were given 2 bags of the "free" veggie spring rolls... disappointing when paying over £6 for these. Also ordered chicken chow mein but received chicken fried rice, as we had ordered fried rice separately to this it was very disappointing. Rang up to let them know, they said they could deliver incorrect items out but we live past st boswells so would take an hour or so.. what's the point when we have the rest of our food. Just really disappointing when paying for something that isn't cheap.

Trip from Eyemouth we always eat here freindly staff great menu for food and reasonably price. See you next time we are in Gala .

We eat here regularly and have never had a poor meal and tonight was no exception. It was my father-in-laws birthday and we all had different things and we all enjoyed our food. The food, the service and the atmosphere never disappoint. Would definitely recommend.

First time here, food was excellent and really tasty. Got 4 tacos for £10 and the sauce selection was great! Owner was very friendly and helpful. Would highly recommend.

This cafe and shop has relocated to a larger unit across from where it used to be and much of the seating is near a big window now. The coffee was sooooo good. They were very busy when I was in but customers orders were all coming out to be served in well organised order. There are local crafters areas inside the shop and a delicatessen. It’s a very nice place.

£18 for two coffees and two slices of chocolate cake, which was dry plus surly service, will never go back. Plenty of other places to try in Galashiels.

ordered a meal for 1 person at 18.30 was told it would be delivered with in an 1-1.5hr called back at 20.00 asked about my meal was told driver went out 10mins previous so I waited and at 20.30 called again to ask where the meal was to be told it would be soon, I told the person on other end of phone that when driver arrived he could take it back , while on the phone 20.35 the door knocked and I was still on phone I walked down my stairs to answer the door and slipped on my stairs, I picked my phone up as it dropped to say sorry I just slipped on stair case to hear the person hang up. answered the door the driver had heard me falling and immediately asked if I was OK I said yes but I'm not really as I have not a sore knee, arm,back. I told the driver he was to take the meal back and explained while it was going back. will I phone for a delivery from them absolutely not, will I go into there take away absolutely not. in my opinion they should not tell you how long you should wait, 40mins after leaving fei wong it wouldn't have been hot probably Luke warm I will not be back service awful. delivery driver was only person that was nice the fact as well is that the person on the other end of the phone didn't even wait to see if I was OK, I could have been injured and lying on the stair unconscious etc
