The Woody is good at being the Woody. It doesn't try to be anything it can't be. It's a 'community pub' ...basic, affordable and wonderfully noisy on a weekend. A friendly non judgemental feel abounds. Contrary to perceived wisdom it is not 'rough' at all, far from it.

We often treat ourselves and go mid week as weekends are usually very busy been there on several occasions always a good meal very authentic food , staff friendly and helpful always a good atmosphere defo recommend for families and friends

Very disappointed! Food came to the table and friends was wrong, did half pizza and half pasta with a friend and it came there was literally about 4 bits of pasta and 1 prawn. Pizza did come and it was wrong but then we sent it back and got new one but then that came burnt which i was starving by this point as the tiny pasta portion did not fill me up in any way. I have had pasta before and this was never the case it was aways full and 6 prawns for the pasta which it should be 3 prawns each. Sadly wont be back as this has put me off as it is an expensive place and the experience was not what i expected :(

Bought food straight from shop, drove no more than 7 minutes away to have dinner with family. Fish was soggy trash, chips cold as Scotland winter, and Mac and cheese would of been better from Tesco value tin. Only saving grace was the king rib, and half ok fried pizza.

Great friendly place to stay for a few

Visited for lunch and coffee and cakes on a few occasions and I’ve always been impressed. A great range of cakes and the cheese scones are lovely. Soup and sandwiches are tasty. Nice surroundings and friendly staff.

Basic, didn't feel clean, coffee too weak

On visit to Galashiels, I just had to pop into Macaris for breakfast, been several times in the past, and wasn't disappointed. Great friendly service and great breakfast.

The food is decent Having to wait for ages in line is frustrating, especially when people take forever

Food is rotten found some sort of NOT FOOD in my tray call them about it and they just ended the call I will be going to the health office about this I have contacted trade and standard about it IT NEEDS CLOSED DOWN

Absolutely disgusting service from here. Ordered food 930pm for delivery, notified arrival to be 1030pm-1050pm. Order shown as delivered 11pm. No food!!!! Rang restaurant. The driver had been to the location but FORGOT to deliver our food. They were prepared to send the driver straight back (23 mins away) with no offer of freshly cooked food. We were then promised it would be recooked (having requested this) and it would be delivered within 33 minutes. 40 minutes later and still no food. Rang restaurant who said they had sent the driver out with 5 other Deliveries and were waiting for him to return before sending our order back out- by which time would be gone midnight (2hrs 30 mins after ordering). Appalling service, appalling customer service from staff, a mere £5 discount offered and was advised they couldn’t upset another 5 customers by sending ours out first!!!!! Never ever would we order from here again.
