Got 2 pizzas delivered with no tomato or cheese on it. Thinking we are stupid and battered bread instead of an actual pizza. Total con men stay away

Outstanding chippy, I’ve never had a bad one or any reason to complain, Tonys is my go to. Definitely worth a try if you’re not sure.

Looks very clean,however the food was very poor, visiting on holiday ordered haggis chips my partner fish and chips.totally inedible. Batter on haggis like rubber and fish over cooked .If we hadn't travelled back to our accommodation we would have returned the fod .never visit again

Visiting the area we took a chance as it looked clean. Unfortunately it was a risk we should have avoided. The fish was thin & small, overcooked & the batter was tough. We visit the area regularly but won't be back to Tony's.

This is our go to place for takeaway fish and chips. The best fish and chips in the area. The fish is always cooked fresh to order. The portions are good. It's best to order ahead if you don't want to wait for the fresh food to be prepared.

Disappointed, the food was just warm by the time I arrived home and it had to be reheated,this was very unusual as it's normally piping hot.

Was excited to try the gluten free fish n chips, usually I could only get a gluten free chippy in Edinburgh or Berwick. I didn't feel unwell at all afterwards so no cross contamination. Super happy and looking forward to trying out the other gluten free options 😁

We ordered two fish and chips ,one was great, the other was inedible, there was old batter around it ,but no fish,shame on you ,we won't be back, and we're not the only ones

Fish Supper Always cooked fresh and always great Found this place after being poisoned by crollas. Do yourself a favour and go to Tonys, its miles better

Best takeaway in the Borders, absolutely brilliant and well worth the money.

Sound bunch of lads, first time having a proper Scottish chippy was great, they even put a creme egg aside for when I came back so they could deep fry it for me. Well good priced as well

Best and saltiest pepperoni pizza I have ever had. Proper pepperoni pieces and plenty of them, the cheese on the pizza is fantastic and a decent price for a really big sized pizza. Haven’t tried the fish and chips here but honestly I would always go pizza from here. Staff were nice too and the place is always clean. Cash only though.

Probably the worst fish & chips I've ever had. Had went here, after working late, because I'd been told it was good, couldn't have been further from the truth. Firstly, I was a little surprised at the price, but don't have much recent comparable experience. However, I became concerned when my chips where being served up, I could see and here the server emptying and scraping the remains chips from the back storage section. Then , I could hear the noise of the hard, small, and I'd guess, old chip being dropped in to the container, nothing freshly cooked or edible near. I did question the quality of the chip, and was offered freshly cooked ones, but I didn't want to wait any longer, so declined and left. Fish was okay, at best. Read previous review, were it appears a negative review was removed from takeaway website, so reviewing on here. Would never make a return visit, very poor.

Pizza was lukewarm, had poor chicken pieces and took an hour and a half to arrive.

Pizza wasn't the best tonight was a different guy working than usual they are usually amazing won't hold this to them as they are brilliant usually hopefully usual guy is back next time keep up the good work tonys because it's 99 percent of the time perfect

we ordered a pizza and fish and chips for my birthday, the pizza was black as in actual black and burnt. no refund or anything offered and removed my comment from their web page. Do not get pizza from this place as its terrible. (update. Gave them another shot on just eat, order was wrong and i called to sort it out but instead i just got a wall of abuse. Refunded from just eat and never ever again with these jokers). Gala need a decent take away so bad its unreal, no one can cook or follow directions in this town.

Salvo's burgers are awesome and staff are always friendly, polite and happy to chat. Great service whether i pick it up or get it delivered. Best in gala I've heard some folk say the pizza is burnt but thats not been my experience. The airpockets on the fresh home made dough do go black but its not a burnt pizza. It's a chip shop, so not much to say. Very clean, great service, and the food was very week prepared and tasty. Not greasy as its so often the case - just right. They also offer a good variety of other items on their menu, so if you don't fancy fish and chips, you cutoff have a burger and chips, a pizza, or a kebab. Also, it is just over the river from the station, so good for a snack after a night out in Old Smokey!

Shop is clean Staff are really friendly TV to watch when waiting on your order Food was cooked fresh, the fish was amazing! Good value for money and perfect portion size Menu has plenty options for everyone

1 hour and 45 mins delivery on a Wednesday night, £18 later and this is what we got...to say we were disappointed is an understatement, the base was nearly crisp, part of the crust was actually charcoal. I've never seen a pizza so unevenly cut before. This was poor effort and quality. This chippy needs to really up its game if it hopes to compete with other local chippies, we won't be back and certainly won't be recommending to anyone, the missus and I ate half as we were starving, ended up binning the rest, save your money.

Fantastic food massive sizes , there donner pizzas are brilliant, , staff are very pleasant every thing is 110% 👍🏻

Fish supper was great! The batter was absolutely perfect and the chips were cooked perfectly, and had some nice crispy bits. It was thoroughly enjoyed by the whole family, including the cat who couldn't resist stealing some of my fish 😁 That says something about the quality of the fish as he's never usually interested in human food!

Great fish and chips! Good size, well cooked fish, good batter and plenty of salt n vinegar. Would recommend! Only accepts cash in store but if you order on their website you can pay with card.

Mixed experience - pizza, donner, chips, and batter were all really good... Unfortunately the fish inside the batter was bad, and went in the bin. Overcooked I think. Maybe I got unlucky but not going to risk their fish again. Might go back for other things.

Easy parking around corner (free after 5PM), spacious shop, no queues (when I visited), speedy and friendly service, usual menu items, biodegradable packaging, and last but not least fish and chips better than most.

Pizzas are amazing! Cash only at the moment, hoping that changes soon.

One of the best chippys I’ve ever had food is amazing

Walked away after 10 mins waiting to give order , only to be ignored and person behind me order was taken . Six people working behind counter , apparently it takes 3 of them to add salt and sauce and use till , I cooking chips , 2 looking at kebabs and burgers . Very poor service here , won't be back here (much better service at the many other take away places)

Finally Galashiels has a decent chip shop .. fish fritters and home made onion rings 10/10, good luck guys 🤩
