We has a two night stay in the hotel which was a return visit, it was really good, the room was nice and clean with tea and coffee facilities which were well stocked. We paid for bed and breakfast and the breakfast was all you could wish for, full cooked was available along with a choice menu but I opted for scrambled eggs and salmon which I highly recommend, great service too. We ate at the hotel each evening and was not disappointed, fair prices and excellent food, again I would recommend the prawn cocktail but the other starters were lovely as well, the main menu had lots of choice and scrumptious, nice desserts were available too but I couldn't eat one because the other portions were so big!!!. We will come back next year thank you.

Nothing like in the pics, a chaotic place which isn’t that clean. Toilets full of dust, loose toilet seat, crumbs on the floor near cake stand. The food was average for an average price but would I return, sorry no. Staff very friendly and helpful but the place seems to need to up its game. Gas bottles left loose in the place.

The Del Amitri restaurant at the Powfoot hotel offers high quality food and a varied menu in a dining room with lovely views over the Solway. The pork belly and the cheese souffle were particularly good, and the wine/drinks menu was very well curated.

Absolutely incredible from start to finish. The food was amazing, every single course and the attention to detail was incredible. The staff were so friendly and described the meals perfectly. We can’t wait to visit again. Thank you for making our night so special!

Our charity took 100+ lighthouse enthusiasts to Mull of Galloway lighthouse and this coffee house opened up specially, by pre-arrangement, on a day they are not normally open. They offered full service to us and the quality was excellent. For such a remote location to have such a high quality place to chill out and socialise with great food and drink is amazing. Brilliant.

This is the perfect place to sit for a coffee and a cake while waiting for family browsing the bookshops of Wigtown - or for a pit stop if you are on a bookshop marathon yourself. The staff are friendly and helpful. The chairs and sofas are comfy. The coffee is spot on and the cakes…Oh. My. Word! I had the apple and cinnamon and my husband had the lemon and ginger. Both were so light and utterly delicious - I was told the owner bakes them all herself, and my goodness she is good at it!

authentic Italian restaurant with lots of charm & traditional vibes. The early bird 2 course menu is excellent value for money at £13.50 pp with all the classic dishes on. We opted for the regular menu, i had the calamari fritters & sea bass with mushroom ravioli ( was lobster on menu but they had run out). The fish was cooked to perfection & the ravioli was amazing in the red pepper sauce. My partner had panzenolle ( probably spelt that wrong but it was pieces of pizza dough with a garlic mayo dip ) & steak diane. He said the steak was one of the best he had, very tender. The restaurant was full, which apparently it is mostly, good atmosphere & lots of attentive staff. very good👍

Frequently visited this establishment in 2004 when it was a small farm shop , it expanded and rebuilt 12 years ago and remains a hidden gem in Dumfries . Has a great ethos, the food is superb, the staff at all just delightful and the farm shop has the most amazing produce . Not to be missed if you are in the area or just worth a special trip .
