The best restaurants in Wigtown West Dumfries & Galloway Lowlands

It's been a while but the food is terrific and we'll priced for what you get... cuppa is smashing too .. in short just what the doctor ordered

I had a cooked breakfast which was a full plate including toast. They quite happily swapped one ingredient for another. My wife had pancake and bacon which she enjoyed. All this along with tea and coffee was under 20 which today is great value. Staff friendly and attentive.

First ever visit on a Sunday. Three course lunch for £15, two for £12 and just the main for £8.95. Good food and comes with a hot or cold drink (cannot say cold as fruit juice had not been chilled). Will be back.

Nice cafe at the lighthouse with amazing views. Staff friendly and the sausage barm we had was nice. Just a real shame that dogs are not allowed in any part of the cafe. It was quiet when we went with only 6 cars in the car park and 5 of those had dogs with them including ours. We would have gone again but just too cold at beginning of March to sit outside.

Really nice restaurant with friendly staff, i am here with my elderly parents, the staff couldn't of been more helpful with my dad who struggles with his mobility, food was tasty, restaurant in general was really modern and very clean, toilets were immaculate, i couldn't of picked a better venue for Sunday dinner, a big thank you for a lovely visit.

What a great cafe , staff are very friendly and amazing . Great breakfast and coffee . Nice view of the sea and all for a good cause . Best cafe in the area .

Disgusted that I turned up with friends to an almost empty establishment yet told that all tables were booked...despite only one table with a Reserved sign on it. Was it because we arrived on our motorcycles...does this business see us as lesser people...who knows but be assured we will never return...great that you can turn away 100's of £s of business. Staff were actually seen to be shaking their heads to someone indoors as we approached.

Had a meal in the restaurant, very impressed, great quality food, portions, freshly cooked, piping hot, great all round. Nice service. Highly recommend.

Visited here Monday 23rd of September 2024. 6 of us had a brilliant meal and the staff are to be commended. Best pizza in a while. Hidden gem. Can’t wait to go back

As always amazing ! AMAZING Staff kind and courteous. Food truly divine , setting magnificent. It doesn’t get better . I would not eat anywhere else in Portpatrick . In fact I love eating here and a restaurant in Kircudbright . The others nearby are poor and tent to take advantage of through traffic so they don’t really want regulars .

Came out here with family members to enjoy a walk round the gardens and finished up with a bite to eat in the cafe. Menu, even though limited at this time, has something for everybody. Toasties, baked potatoes, bagels ~ all of which come with plenty of filling, waffles, pancakes and plenty more sweet treats. What's not to love. Don't let previous reviews mislead you.

The staff were very rude, the food was terrible and some of it unedible. i went there with a couple friends and there was a buzzing of flies around, the sausages tasted frozen and not fresh produce. The floors were unclean and the bathroom was unsanitary, as a visitor to stranraer this was recommended but i will not recommend anyone eating here as it has ruined my afternoon. There is alot of dust and its generally looked unkempt. i feel like i have wasted my money paying for a meal i couldnt finish

This is our Second chinese meal from China Blue in a week on our holiday in Stranraer, i saw the reviews online before and definitely made the right choice, both meals we're great, the king prawn dish was ridiculous, they were HUGE, i always rate a chinese on the prawn crackers, normally when there good the meal will be good (which were free with our meal), they were some of the best I've ever had, very polite delivery drivers as well both times, can't wait to come back next year, first night guaranteed i know where our first meal will be.

Our first visit today for lunch we had pate and soup then both had the roast of the day - Beef. First class lovely meal and great service thank you - will definitely return
