The staff were superb very friendly and the food was outstanding compliments to the chef and staff for a pleasurable place to eat and drink it's a must if your within 100 miles ov the cock inn only joking if you're close enough please give it a go you will not be disappointed thanks again to everyone

Stopped here for lunch today, I had the macaroni & chips and I’m fussy as I need my macaroni to be really cheesy and it was, the chips were fab too. My partner had the shin of beef with mash & veg and he said it was delicious. The owner (sorry never got her name) was very welcoming & attentive. I’d definitely recommend the Cock Inn and will return again.

Homemade macaroni cheese was tasteless garlic bread and chips cheap and nasty. Venison burger good did seem home made. Children's meals poor quality. Staff were polite and friendly. Would not return for food, but nice for a drink on a summers day lovely views.

Back again to this great Restaurant/Pub, still the same, lovely welcome, of course you have to book well in advance to guarantee a table on a Friday night, there were 2 of us and our G/ Grandson, excellent meal again, I wish I lived closer, but it’s great when you are on holidays knowing this restaurant in on our doorstep.

Excellent experience. Catered for our party of 8 - helpful staff, delicious meals at reasonable prices. Indeed, the lobsters caught locally were beautifully prepared, cooked to perfection and accompanied by a gigantic rainbow style salad plus chips all at an affordable price. The haggis and potato scone with peppercorn sauce starter was very tasty and the ample portion sizes allowed some splitting of the dish between us. Clean facilities. Initially we were sharing the conservatory with a family with ‘lively’ children & the acoustics made conversation difficult (not the restaurant’s fault) – luckily the family had almost finished eating as we arrived. A lovely venue for our evening out as a group of friends.

Have been before. Not sure I should say anything about this little 💎. It's superb, great food great service and with a cheeky little pint of Icebreaker it doesn't get much better.

When in the area this is without question the best place to eat. We've been a number of times over the years and it manages to maintain and improve on itself every time. We have never had a bad meal here the food is all fantastic, as is the service and the prices are reasonable. You maybe able to drop in but it's a good idea to book at busy times. Love it.

Unfortunately this place was our "go to" place for food whilst holidaying in the area, however after our visit on 19th April we feel it no longer offers good value for money 😟 Portion sizes have decreased, and lacking flavour ( this could of been down to what I ordered) but even though we asked for extra vegetables instead of potatoes for one person no extra vegetables appeared just more potatoes! Waitress did not inform us about the special "mixed grill" only found this out after eating main and whilst she was telling another table about it! Due to the lack of flavour and service and as I said despite holidaying in area and returning in the past every night it was open - we decided against this and found better places to eat, which we were very sad about- average food cutting portion sizes down 😟

Beautiful meal today. Called on the off chance at lunchtime and we were welcomed. There were other guests already seated and some reserved tables. The young lady who served us was very friendly but also professional. My starter of smoked salmon parcels containing prawn Marie rose, side salad and brown bread and butter was delicious. My partner did not have a starter and was pleased when his steak and ale pie with new potatoes and vegetables came as lovely generous portions. He said that it was the nicest steak and ale pie he had had in a very long time. I had the Haddock chips and peas with tartar sauce. Batter was light and cripy, haddock fresh and white, very tasty. We can well recommend this establishment and will make a point of returning when we are next in the area. Thank you

Took my G/Grandson age 6 and my wife to this regular great Pub/Restaurant brilliant staff and food, if you are in this area remember to book a table to guarantee a place.

Back to the cock inn as last meal was fabulous, and it didn't disappoint. Missed out on Xmas lunch as we didn't pre-book but the food as last time, was amazing. Big hearty portions, fresh pate, home made pies, gorgeous pork loin in a cider apple sauce, home made chutney ( thanks to Sandra) definitely worth a visit and very good value for money.

My husband and I went to the Cock Inn this evening, we decided to have one of the special dishes,which was a mixed grill, it was lovely, the selection of meat was so tender and perfectly cooked, fab runny egg too, couldn't even fit in a dessert, will do next time though. Perfect setting,great food, and lovely staff.

Visited many times during our trips to Port William. Good as ever and the sea bass and new potatoes are as good as anywhere

We visited this pub three times whilst on holiday nearby. The first time we stopped to enjoy a drink outside on a hot sunny day. The tables overlooking the beach are reasonable but it’s a shame they’re on the edge of the carpark. The second visit was for dinner and we enjoyed it so much we booked for a third visit a few days later. The variety on the menu is great and all the food we had on both occasions was fantastic, starters, mains and desserts. Portion size was excellent and everything was very well prepared, served and was delicious. Service was excellent, being polite and efficient with exactly the right timing between courses, etc. The ambiance in the conservatory dining was pleasant looking out to sea, but again the carpark did spoil it a bit. Prices of food and drinks was very competitive. We’d certainly return if we holiday in the area again.
