The best restaurants in Midlothian South Midlothian Edinburgh and Lothian

Collected food from here a few times. Breakfast rolls and lunches have been great! Definitely been missing them while they are closed during this lockdown!! Hopefully they will be open soon

First visit to Bruntons restaurant and thoroughly enjoyed the entire experience. Excellent food, service from Emily was first class, priced very reasonable too. We all enjoyed our meals and will certainly return. Can’t leave this without mention of the seafood spaghetti dish. Wow, just wow.

Had an amazing Xmas Brie and cranberry bagel and Xmas gingerbread coffee. Well needed on a cold day. Service is always great

Upmarket restaurant in a small country village serving a delicious, good quality range of food. We enjoyed Saturday night dinner at this restaurant and I was particularly impressed when the days special was Ox Cheek. It did not disappoint! I enjoyed a melt-in-the-mouth beautifully prepared dish and was toiling to finish it all. Thankfully we'd shared bruschetta to start...the portion was more than enough for two and it was delicious. I'd highly recommend 119 and will most definitely be back.

What a wonderful experience at the Dean Tavern. The venue itself is lovely, and the staff are truly fantastic. We worked closely with Ellie, who was very welcoming and helpful. The show went smoothly, and the support from the team made all the difference. Would definitely recommended for any event! We very much look forward to returning.

Loved this place, but the munchie box is now terrible. The chips are soggy, defo not salt and pepper everything is bland. need the sauce to add any flavor. Definitely going downhill. Will be looking elsewhere from now on

The Dean is a great place to go for food and beverages before or after a tour of the National Mining Museum in Newtongrange. We had their special house pasta and pizza. Both were very tasty and service was quick and friendly. This is a local place, so prices were very reasonable.

A hidden gem in a lovely setting near Edinburgh. Friendly service, the best bacon rolls ever, delicious scones, cakes and traybakes, along with excellent coffee or tea and a variety of soft drinks. A bonus is the craft work on sale made by local artisans. Can't recommend it enough! Eliz

This place was amazing friendly and extremely lovely food. Sadly its closed due to issues with pipes/drainage all us locals are still hoping it reopens had the best macaroni in midlothian (in my opinion) and was handy to grab a coffee while waiting on the train.

I went in for some dessert, I was simply blow away by the level of service provided from the waiting staff and the time efficiency of the kitchen staff. I highly recommend this to anyone looking for a relaxed meal to share with your loved one’s!

Four of us just had a lovely meal tonight .The food was delicious and the service we received was excellent.

Great local take away. Great selection and friendly staff.. would definitely recommend.

Ordenó el clásico doner kebab con papas fritas. Este pan era crujiente y seco. La carne estaba tibia y sabía a carne seca vieja. Ni siquiera me comí la mitad de mi donador. Lo tiré a la papelera. Ni siquiera terminé mis papas fritas cuando el kebab me puso el estómago boca abajo. ¡Rango!

Ive heard mixed reviews but thought I would try it here and I loved it. Took about 25 minutes for food to be ready but that's normal for places! Food was good couldn't fault it. Staff were friendly aswell. Will definitely be going back.

What can I say, I had a chicken and vegetable curry with rice, and it was absolutely delicious, so much so I've booked a birthday meal for my girlfriend, we have had a meal with friends there before, can't fault the food or service, very nice and attentive people, food is amazing, korma is very nice and I love the peshwari naan,chicken tikka starter is heaven, there's a few curries that I've tried and can't fault it 10/10 keep up the good work.
