The best restaurants in Bonnyrigg Midlothian Edinburgh and Lothian

Grabbed a cup of tea here while waiting for a bus, and got a takeaway scone to have at home. I'm *really* fussy about scones - this one is *extremely* good 🤤 I'm not often in the area, but will go back just for the scones!! ☝🏻 Clean café too, and friendly staff 👍🏻☺️👌🏻 Very reasonable cost as well 🤗

Have been going to this resturant regularly for nearly 10 years. Always giving it a 5 star rating. Last night for my wife’s birthday we visited again expecting our usual high standards. Firstly, the food was excellent as normal, no issues there at all. But for some strange reason our engagement with the staff including the owner was very “flat and low energy”. We waited 40 minutes for our first course to be delivered , Arancini and Mozarella Fritta …. No one explained why the wait was so long. Apart from asking for our order and delivering the food there was NO attempt to engage in conversation with us…. A mile away from the experience when Marisa was front of house in the early days. This was the first time in ten years going to Gigi’s that I haven’t left a tip. Your food is excellent, you need to refocus your standards of service as your prices are now at “ Edinburgh” levels… so the experience needs to be top notch. Also an increase in Veggie pasta options would be a good idea both for the customers and your profit line. Hope to come back and also hear some more good reviews. Disappointed local and big advocate of Gigi’s Bonnyrigg.

I went here for my rehearsal dinner! The food was absolutely fantastic and they were extremely accommodating! I would highly recommend to everyone!

I want to thank the amazing staff at the Melville Inn, for looking after our group so kindly last weekend. We were a group of 13 on a hen party, and the team could not have been more accommodating - they helped us put up a banner and balloons, and even laid out our gift bags and party favours on the table ahead of our arrival. The waitress was so attentive and took great care of us all night. So, a huge thank you to everyone who was working on Saturday 4th April - you gave us a fantastic night!

Love a Premier Inn, comfy beds and always a good night's sleep. Good location, only thing that let it down was the kangaroo in the room above us

We weren't aware this restaurant existed and stumbled upon it by chance. What an excellent place it is. Great food, service and value for money. Now we know where it is, we will definitely be back. The staff are so helpful and friendly. Gem of a place

The restaurant and bar was closed during normal hours. I would call ahead and/or wait for other reviews to show up saying they’re open again.

Burnt pizza every time you go there you have to specify that you don't want your pizza burnt 🍕🔥 it's really silly that the do this.

Fantastic food and fantastic service,Aleetzia was a breath of fresh air. Friendly and chatty and good at her job. Nice to receive such good service

Easy parking, nice table, warm and comfortable, service first class, food and drink spot on. Breaded fish amazing. Lovely lunch.
