Absolutely the best cafe for breakfast and socialising with friends and family service with a smile lots of help with a great attitude from the staff

Have been going to this resturant regularly for nearly 10 years. Always giving it a 5 star rating. Last night for my wife’s birthday we visited again expecting our usual high standards. Firstly, the food was excellent as normal, no issues there at all. But for some strange reason our engagement with the staff including the owner was very “flat and low energy”. We waited 40 minutes for our first course to be delivered , Arancini and Mozarella Fritta …. No one explained why the wait was so long. Apart from asking for our order and delivering the food there was NO attempt to engage in conversation with us…. A mile away from the experience when Marisa was front of house in the early days. This was the first time in ten years going to Gigi’s that I haven’t left a tip. Your food is excellent, you need to refocus your standards of service as your prices are now at “ Edinburgh” levels… so the experience needs to be top notch. Also an increase in Veggie pasta options would be a good idea both for the customers and your profit line. Hope to come back and also hear some more good reviews. Disappointed local and big advocate of Gigi’s Bonnyrigg.

I went here for my rehearsal dinner! The food was absolutely fantastic and they were extremely accommodating! I would highly recommend to everyone!

Had dinner with my son, daughter and my parents. Great value for money. Food really great, our waiter was fantastic and made us feel very welcome. Fantastic service.

Love a Premier Inn, comfy beds and always a good night's sleep. Good location, only thing that let it down was the kangaroo in the room above us

The restaurant and bar was closed during normal hours. I would call ahead and/or wait for other reviews to show up saying they’re open again.

Awful and poor customer service. Ordered 2 vegetable kebabs - for some reason there was pineapple in them and the pineapple was off. Ended up throwing it away. Fish also ordered and batter way too greasy. Ordered over phone and was told a collection time, yet still had to wait over 15 minutes until food was ready - so what's the point of pre-ordering ? In meantime walk in customers just waltzed in and out again with their food. Staff also rude. Complained first before I left a review but they didn't even bother replying.

We had a great experience at the Melville Inn Lasswade. This was our second visit and we'll definitely be back again. We booked online on the day and we were seated quickly on arrival. The surroundings are lovely, and we received fast, attentive service from Loren, who was pleasant and couldn't do enough for us. The food was very good, everything ran smoothly. A quick tip: don't follow your satnav just head into the Dobbie's Garden Centre entrance and turn left and you'll find it easily.

Easy parking, nice table, warm and comfortable, service first class, food and drink spot on. Breaded fish amazing. Lovely lunch.
