How you would describe a real old styled bar. Huge menu for any kind of drinks. Good place to start and end an evening. Here you can study the Brasserie menu for having a fantastic dinner.

Top spot for both breakfast and dinner. Very warm and welcoming service, kid friendly, pet friendly, decent pricing (a tad bit on the high side but price matches quality), excellent ambiance and fully stocked bar. Kids loved it and also invited extended family for dinner on our last day and they were very happy indeed! Very much recommended!!

My parents, husband and 2 kids enjoyed amazing dinner tonight. Waiters were lovely and provided very good service but the absolute highlight was the food. My parents were visiting from Lithuania and were so impressed with the quality and taste of their meals. It was truly amazing and we sent our thanks to the shefs Kayla and Naomi. Thank you so much for making their last night and our evening so enjoyable. Will be definitely returning.

Enjoyed our Golden Wedding gathering with 16 family members in the conservatory. The service was exemplary and the food was delicious with a fine menu that catered for all in the party. Thanks to manager Michael, waiting and bar staff led by Pedro and all in the kitchen team for making our occasion so enjoyable. I thoroughly recommend this venue and would willingly return.

We are local and kids were away so came for dinner and had a lovely evening. We were served by Loren and Bethany and there was a nice friendly young man too but I didn’t get his name. The staff are alll friendly and helpful and the food was really good. I had a vegetarian option - chickpea and butternut squash burger and my husband had the signature burger. Triple cooked chips were lovely too. We shared melted Camembert to start and the puds were beautiful - husband had sticky toffee pud with custard and I had the most amazing caramelised banana and choux pastry with vanilla ice cream. I’m not a pudding person really but the pudding menu was incredible! I had two large glasses of pinot blush to drink which went down well too! Staff so friendly, nice cosy atmosphere and a must if you are considering eating here. Plenty of parking too and a nice garden for sunny days.

I have live very near the Melville Inn all my life but yesterday was our first visit and meal. What a pleasant and refreshing experience. I am coeliac and have a condition called MCAS that makes me allergic to a forever changing myriad of allergens. I am also a wheelchair user. At the Melville Inn nothing was a problem-they have a tablet that you enter your allergens and it filters the menu to show you what you can order. There is a good amount of choice including fish and chips! They checked all the other food for MSG for me as well. I was never made to feel that I was an inconvenience or that I was a pest. There is plenty of disabled parking and the inn is fully accessible in a wheelchair. The food was really lovely- tasty, well presented and good portion sizes. I can't believe that this was our first visit. I can safely say that it will become a regular outing and on nice days the beer garden is huge and dogs are welcome. We live a walkable or for me a rollable distance away. I want to thank the staff, they were all helpful, knowledgeable and cheery. Micheal was especially helpful, ensuring my food would not make me ill and keeping us informed when there was a small wait between the main and pudding courses. It was just so nice to be made welcome, and to have numerous choices from the menu. They will work with you to ensure you get a tasty safe meal. You are treated like a "normal" patron. My food also came at the same time as everyone else's. In some restaurants I have been given my main course when everyone else is on pudding or finished. The Melville inn is accessible, caters to all, your own filtered menu- good choices of food- served at the same times as everyone else- these are small things that make the difference to the experience you have. If you have allergies and/or disability- this Inn is for you ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Booked a table, shown to it promptly on arrival, were given menus...then ignored, while waitress took orders from later arrivals. Had to go to bar to order. When food arrived (Thai style chicken curry) thought they'd given me a lump of mashed potatoes instead of rice: one solid lump of mush, no individual grains in sight. Actually sliced it up! A pity, as the curry was tasty and table service was good after the first blip.

We were here for our Son-in-Laws 30th Birthday. And while the Meals were ok. My Daughter Complained about the Service Charge added to Our Bill. And before we had our Meal the Guy came to our Table and Apologised for the Waiting Time. This is the Same Guy at the Bar when my Daughter complained and he wasn’t Happy she Complained about the Service Charge which is not Mandatory We should’ve been asked if we Wanted to Pay for the Service not just Automatically Charged for it. And to make Matters Worse he told my Daughter who Paid the Bill she would have to Wait 3/5 days on the Refund that’s just a Joke. Can we have our Meals and Use can Wait 3/5 days on Us Paying the Bill. Anyway first Time Visit Here and the Last Visit here 2 Stars is all this Place Deserves

What a delightful anniversary lunch we had at the Melville Inn. Everyone was so welcoming and Loren asked us if we would like to sit beside the lit, log fire, instead of at the table already set for us, which was so cosy and warm! We were given plenty of time to choose our dishes. The tomato soup was so warming and delicious, and my husband enjoyed the fried brie. I had sea bass, which was beautifully cooked and prepared by the chef, Stevie - as was the chicken schnitzel dish my husband enjoyed - both our plates were nearly licked clean!!We would like to say a big thank you to Loren, Stevie and all the staff who were on duty on Friday 22nd September 2023.
