Kebab when got home is always kinda cold So 30s in microwave is perfect Salad is always good and portion size is good So recommend highly No complaints

Best takeaway in town! Amazing food, we’ve had 2 big donner wraps and fish and chips, the wraps were so fluffy, tasty and delicious, and the fish was freshly and perfectly cooked! Definitely recommend, and we will be back soon! The staff in the shop are so so friendly, amazing, well done and thank you Franco’s team for our beautiful dinner!

Stopped at the last minute for a carryout. Hadn't preordained had to wait about 10mins for my order. There were loads of orders being prepared and lots of staff on hand. Food is always great.

Normally the food is of high quality, unfortunately I ordered a kebab and chips at 16.42 it arrived at 16.55, yeah fast delivery only to see the food was certainly not freshly cooked, the kebab meat was dry and cold and the chips have definitely been sitting a while. Very disappointed

£4.70 for a can of coke and roll n chips. Will be the last time i visit this place. To be given attitude about calling it a " roll n chips " to then be corrected as if i have butchered someone's invention.

Staff work hard and fast to keep customers from waiting too long. The phones ring constantly and online deliveries constantly keep them busy but the food is always hot and fresh.

Franco's Takeaway Dalkeith is absolutely incredible! The food is so delicious and the service is outstanding. I can't get enough of their amazing dishes. Highly recommend giving them a try!

No battered fish especially if it’s just out the frier

Great food which is always fresh and reasonably priced. I would normally have it delivered but on the odd occasion when I'm close by I would go in. It's usually busy and they do a lot of deliveries but even so they're quick in serving you, definitely recommend

Got take away fish and chips. The batter was very oily and the fish dry. Sat terribly on my stomach with bad acid, little girl was also sick.

i normally like food from here but tonight I Was told I would wait 1 hour 10 minutes for my delivery meal, waited 1 hour 30 minutes called them and was told it was on it's way still waiting another 30 minutes 2 hours in total, the whole meal was totally ruined absolutely swimming in brown sauce

What a joke. Send partner to buy " chicken kebab plus 2 pita bread and 2 garlic sauce " got normal single boring kebab with disgusting sauce no garlic and one pita bread. How ignoring service must be to don't care about regular customer. Well wish them them luck.

See on their day when everything is freshly cooked this chippy is absolutely brilliant crispy chips and crispy fish. Absolutely lovely! But when there left out for a little while it’s not so fresh and Chips and batter become dry then sauce makes it soggy. But it’s still my first chippy I go to. I’d happily wait for freshly cooked fish and chips!

Yesterday I was Dalkeith to see one of my fronds, he took me here for the lunch. I ordered a burger and it was better than I expected. Will defo try it again in my next visit.

We have ordered a few pizza last night and myself a mix kebab was lovely.

Ordered 3 single fish, 12 inch pizza and a couple of large portions of chips. Fish was greasy/soggy and tasteless. Pizza was hard and kids complained they struggled to take bites out of it. Definately wouldn't recommend and there are other better Fish and chip places in and around dalkeith. Won't be back.

I love this chips shop couple of weeks ago I got the best fish supper ever, this rating is based on today's experience. I ordered a fish supper, a single fish and hamburger supper the woman that answered the phone sounded annoyed that I asked for a delivery then within 30 min the food arrived undercooked and swimming in grease totally disgusting. They need to find out which member of staff likes undercooking food as it could get dangerous I've already suffered ecoli from a meteor pizza from a certain pizza shop.

Perfect fish & chips, very tasty as hot as it should be if actually collecting it yourself

The pizza base was nice, however the toppings very minimal and tomatoe sauce on base was spread so thin you could not taste or see it. Shame as it would be a lovely pizza

Ordered a large Munchie box and it was not worth the extra £5 from small, food also arrived cool, donner meat and chip portion was so small. Not the usual standard from Francos on this Occassion

I have been going to Francis for a long time but just received my pizza with chicken mushroom and sweet corn the only way I knew there was tomato purée on it was cause I cook see little bits of it as for the topping very very minimal surely at 80p a topping you should get more than one mushroom half a spoonful of sweet corn and a few cubes of chicken more topping bedtime please

Rubbish Delivery, Mediocre Food!!! Placed my order on Just eat at 7.25. Said it would be here at 8.50-9.10. Not great but hey ho. Nothing from them at 9.20, so asked through Just Eat for an Update. Francos were supposed to call me, but instead sent a text saying, it would be delivered at 9.45. Tried to cancel it, but couldn't. So annoyed!!!! MAYBE IF FRANCOS GAVE PEOPLE THE OPTION TO PICK UP THEIR FOOD THEY WOULDNT BE LOSING. CUSTOMERS. No offer of a partial refund, but still have the face to charge you £2.50 for LATE delivery. Priceless! Never Again. Feel sorry for the delivery drivers..

Have been ordering from Francos for years but last few times was not impressed fish was rock solid at one end no fish in it and usually fish has been amazing .tonight pizza and chips pizza wasnt the same as the last time I ordered and both weren't hot enough really dissapointed

Used this takeaway for years and never had an issue until now. Last two times ordered special fish and unlike before the quality is well below par. I would hazard a guess it was frozen fish being used which is tasteless at best. For sure there won't be a third time. Pity as always been good up until a couple of months ago.

In the past I can honestly say that I have loved the fish and chips from Franco's it has become our go to fish and chip shop. That took a huge tumble this evening. Sadly I have just eaten a very poor but long awaited fish supper; a birthday' treat'!!! the first fish and chips we've had since before the first Covid Lockdown. I don't mind the price increase but I do mind what seemed to be either very badly cooked or previously cooked fish. The batter was very dark brown and shrivelled in places and the fish inside was in parts dried and yellowed (my cats enjoyed it) some of the chips were shrivelled - it seemed to me that some older cooked chips had been mixed in with fresher cooked ones. Disappointed is an understatement. Sorry Franco's but the 22 mile round trip my husband had to make to buy me this treat was simply a waste of his time and most definitely not worth it. A miserable end to what has been a superb birthday!!!!

Would like let you know, that I got a fish supper,from Franco's yesterday,at 4.35,@ took it home,after opening it,realised it was a reheat,£7.50,@ they put out reheats,I worked in my father's chip shop,and was told,don't put out,what you wouldn't like yourself.when fresh,its a really good fish supper,but disapwpointed with the one that I got yesterday.22/03/21,the lot went into the bin.went in to complain,was told "we don't do reheats.no offer of a rebate,just pure denial.That was 17 days ago,its 08/04/21. They even had the audacity to ask me to bring it back.my late father would have kicked my "arse,had I say that to a customer ,as he said the public are always correct.

Superb quality food and always delivered piping hot! Delivery often beats the expected timescale and delivery drivers are friendly and courteous! Pizza, kebab or chippie it's always good and never disappoints.

..it'd normally be a bit hit n miss I would have thought...keeping a chippy viable. But I reckon this place must work because of the passing trade. It doesn't rely on the villagers, I stop on the way home to Galashiels ..it's a diversion but worth it...very good fish supper.

Ordered at 17:30. Delivery well after 9pm... 3 calls for an update. Ended up speaking to manager who really didn’t care less... once the driver did arrive , no mask and once again didn’t give a monkey about anything. Offered a refund but not What we wanted. We wanted a fresh meal! Asked about COVID deliveries and once again that wasn’t even adhered to... told it would be left on doorstep but that didn’t happen the driver just stood closest to door as he could and no mask anything. Literally couldn’t have cared less. Tried to complain again but the attitude was very much ‘you got a free meal what else do you want’ - absolutely awful Customer service!! Oh and told ‘go elsewhere next time’ - Joke!!

We got a family munchie box and unfortunately we were quite disappointed. The whole box was squashed into the corner of the box and looked quite a mess. The chicken pakoras were over fried. The chips and kebab meat was really nice. Normally the takeaway is lovely that's the reason for the 4 stars.

Fish and chips good but customer service very poor Update: despite the poor service I continued to go to this place however this time (today) the owner (sounded Italian) confronted me aggressively saying he didn’t approve of my review. He advised me that his sister who btw served me very rudely was right and I was wrong. His words were ‘ I believe my sister than customer’. He said he didn’t want my money to which I said ‘that’s fine,I didn’t want his fish and chips anymore and would be my last visit’. I told him that the customer is right and that his sister was rude to me when I only asked for my fish and chips to be put in a small bag so that the sauce doesn’t spill onto my car seat, going home. She literally flung the bag at me rather than wrapping it up herself. Her attitude was disgraceful. The customer service is shocking in this family run business. It’s not the first time someone has complained about them. I won’t be going back there again. Go to Benes. Much better and a service provided with a smile!

I love this place. Definitely has the best donner or mixed kebab I've had and have tried many. Also crazy about the donner calzone. Very tasty meat and lovely calzone crust. Their unique sauces are also very good additions to the meal too. Highly recommended.

I was always happy with the food and service I got here. You get a lot of food for what you pay, and their service is no-nonsense, but generally pretty quick. It's fast food, not gourmet dining, and if you keep that in mind, it is a great place to grab a bite to eat.

16" pizza and a large chips fed 4 people, the chips are always hot and fresh mmm, the pizza was lovely and the staff are always freindly 👍 this is our favourite chippy.

If i could have given no stars thats what i would have done. I ordered 2 donar kebabs with just garlic sauce and a chicken nugget supper with just salt. The supper came saturated in garlic sauce which ended up in the bin and causing my autistic son to have a melt down as his dinner was not right! The kebab meat was stone cold and way overcooked so they ended up in the bin too. Safe to say i will not be back.

Unable to eat it the fish at all — smelled terrible, tasted worse. I was really hungry and adore fish and chips —perhaps oil was old, or perhaps it was too late in evening. I was there about 7 pm.

Food is fine but the delivery was 50 min late
