Had our works Christmas night out in Luci's last night and wow!!! Food, drinks & service 10/10✨🎄

Lovely meal and delicious cocktail. Very good service too. Used great Itison deal too.

The food is the headline -Carbonara and Salted Caramel Cake was 🔥🔥🔥🔥 Bonnie modern looking restaurant with a lot to like. I think I prefer the food here to Gigi's. The lad at the door was about as welcoming as a hole in lifeboat but everyone else was excellent. I would recommend this place

We had a lovely meal at lucis this weekend. The service was excellent, and the pizza and pasta were both delicious. We had no room for desert, and our server spotted the pizza leftovers and boxed them up for us to take away. Very nice meal indeed!

Have seen the restaurant a few times and thought we would give it ago. I had pizza which was quite nice, but my wife had a gluten free carbonara . The first one was salty and the sauce like dishwater while the second one was a bit better but not a lot. She was still unable to eat it and left the restaurant hungry we won’t be back and you need to do more than just take the dish of the bill that was inedible. It’s a real shame!

Food was good, flavours were put together really well. Service however was really not good.

Great service from the several younger members of staff! Not to say anything bad about the older ones that is!! Food was excellent, cooked and displayed to the highest perfection. Venue was clean and neat with great music and atmosphere. Will definitely return and I recommend everyone to do so!

Have to say I was very disappointed I went eat here with a friend the young man that seated us was very pleasant however the food was anything but average I had the mussels to start with on the menu it says it comes with focaccia however I was given my mussels and half way through already eating them was given a dry bit of brown bread … the main wasn’t much butter at £19 pound a bowl the crab pasta was a very small portion, it was bland with very little sauce i know for a fact it was picked crab out a tin and not fresh crab for the price this is very cheeky. The desert wasn’t much better I ordered the tiramisu but what I got wasn’t far away from whipped cream with chocolate powder on top. The only reason I ate what was in front of me was because I was hungry and I was paying a lot of money for it however I really wouldn’t recommend eating here at all quite frankly the pub over the road does better food than that. The one thing I will give credit for is the cocktails they were amazing, the young man serving us was very polite and pleasant and the inside decor is beautiful. Just a real shame about the food.

Had breakfast recently here for my birthday and for how small your portions are it’s very overpriced. My kids got a pancake stack which only consisted of two pancakes. It’s a shame as I don’t think we will be back for food. I have attended one of their boozy brunches which was very good!

First time visiting today and what a lovely meal we had. My wife thought the pesto was the best thing she's ever tasted and my GF pizza was delicious. Recommended!

I’ve really enjoyed Luci’s lunch & dinner in the past and recently tried their new brunch menu and it was fantastic! Really well prepared and delicious - one of the best breakfasts I’ve ever had!

Frankly we were made to feel as if we were an inconvenience to the serving staff and as the man serving us pointed out to the chef given that he would be annoyed because too many of us had ordered chicken so we should also expect a delay. The food was good. The service and rude attitude of the manager were appalling and ruined our night. At the end of the evening when we complained about the service we were told it was our own fault because we had not re-confirmed the booking. No apology, just complete resentment. This is the second time I have dined here. The first time was on Xmas eve and the service was even worse. despite being on time, we had to stand along a narrow corridor (with my 80 year old mother) for 30mins with staff squeezing past us with dirty dishes. Then we waited ages to be served and one hour between starter and main, ignored by staff, when I complained we were offered a small discount by a disgruntled but slightly apologetic woman. I will never go back. What a shame to spoil such a good place with dreadful service.

A little noisy when arriving but soon quietened as ppl left. Food was lovely and service very good. Nothing was a problem for them. Will def be back. I was impressed with the varied menu and choice of gluten free dishes

I put a comment on a post they put up about an offer they supposedly do, based on the fact that I have been there twice to take advantage of the offer and both times I was told it was not on. The last time I went, I asked the server, and the response I got was a sigh, then he rolled his eyes and said that it was head office posting the offer, but they were not doing it. I thought this was a family run business, so who is their head office. I was asked to contact them, and so I messaged them, they asked me to call them or they would call me, but I didn't want to give out my number and I shouldn't have to call them, I just wanted them to message me back. Anyway they just kept ignoring me after that, so I posted the messages on the original post, to which they deleted the post and blocked me from the site! Great customer service by their manager Kevin, not!!! It was him who asked me to contact them about my comment and then chose to ignore me!

What a disappointment! A group of us booked for lunch and preordered our meal. Several of us had been before and had a lovely meal so I'm hoping this experience on Friday was just a glitch but it was not good. The much vaunted carbonara was dense and hard to chew and lacked the promised confit egg yolk. The pizzas were OK but quite dry and burnt at edges. However our biggest disappointment was the terrible service! The staff delivered our food and then no one came to ask if we were OK (we werent) or to see if we needed anything. The waiting staff were gathered chatting in the bar or kitchen and did not return for ages. They removed our plates without a word or smile and dumped the dessert menus in front of us. Needless to say we didn't have dessert. As a group who often lunch together we would normally leave a generous tip. We didn't tip on this occasion.

Wonderful atmosphere and lovely food. Hats off to them for making the best gluten free pizza I've had in Scotland too!

Chicken Parmigiana (£18) - Tenderised chicken breast coated in Grana Padano and breadcrumbs then fried in butter and lemon, warm burrata cheese fresh Pachino tomato sauce & fresh basil. The chicken breast was juicy and succulent, and the coating of Grana Padano and breadcrumbs added a crispy, savoury layer. You could taste the richness of the butter and the zestiness of the lemon whilst another burrata ball oozed out its mild, milky, luxurious centre over the chicken and pasta. This Chicken Parmigiana was a harmonious blend of textures and flavours—crunchy, cheesy, and comforting. Beef short rib Pasta (£18) - Handmade egg paradelle, Slow braised short rib, San Marzano tomato & red wine ragu. The wide, ribbon-like pasta was tender, slightly chewy, and absorbed the rich sauce beautifully. The slow-braised short rib was fall-apart tender, having simmered for hours, and you could taste the savoury essence of red wine and sweet, tangy San Marzano tomatoes. The ragu enveloped the pasta, creating a luscious coating. This dish is comforting, hearty, and utterly satisfying! My dining experience at Luci’s was thoroughly enjoyable. Despite the busy service, the well-arranged tables allowed for comfortable conversation. The staff, warm and friendly, added to the overall positive atmosphere. Was there for fathers day. Excellent steak, friendly service.

Was so excited to go to Lucis. We dont eat out a lot but the last time we ate here it was outstanding. The menu has reduced dramatically with less choice. Husband got the papardelli beef which he loved. I ordered carbonara. Struggled to find the ham I have to say and was dry and dull. I felt like I was eating two day old udon noodle, pasta was so thick. No sauce. Could have made better with my eyes shut at home. Wont hurry back. Wine was warm. Service was ok.

We have lived relatively near to Luci’s for years but never got round to paying them a visit until a recent birthday lunch. We are so glad we did. We were looked after well from the moment we arrived, particularly by Drai our waiter, who was very helpful and his menu recommendations. We’re spot on! The menu, all rustic Italian and seasonal, was fantastic and we tried enough between two of us that we had to take some away in boxes. We look forward to going back again later in the year to see how the seasonal menu evolves.

Ive visited Luci's a good few times. The food and service is always great. We also went there for our work night out and they dealt with the bigger group excellently. I'll be returning very soon.

Had lunch yesterday with a friend and our girls and what a fabulous afternoon we all had. The food was amazing, service is fantastic and a lovely atmosphere too. My girls absolutely love Kevin and he is such an asset to the place! He's is cheery, has a laugh and is always helping somebody or making them feel welcome. Pizzas are pasta were so tasty and fresh. Great selection of wine/drinks. The place is immaculately clean. Looking forward to our next visit already. Thank you!

Visited for a surprise birthday meal and we had an amazing time at Luci's. The food was delicious and even though there was 11 of us, we were all served quickly and at the same time. The service we received was great and even though the restaurant was quiet, the atmosphere was lovely. We love coming to Luci's and being there for a special occasion was fantastic

Lovely food , we both got chicken parmagano and it was so so nice....excactly what a parmagano should be , truffle fries were excellent and the tart tatin was delicious!! The service was fantastic , lovely staff. its our second visit here and we will definately be back again .

Not Impressed! I ordered chicken parm which consisted of an over cooked chicken cutlet, a blob of so so sauce, cheese and a blob of sticky spaghetti right on top. I sent it back and ordered Mac & cheese which was more their speed. Pretty pathetic for prices charged. A chef with some skill & imagination might be nice.

We enjoyed an early dinner here this week! We had pizzas (deal of two for £20) and had affogato and ice cream for pudding. Service was cheerful and food awesome! Will return!!

Have visited this restaurant several times, and keep hoping that it will get better. It really doesn't. The setting is great, the staff were polite and reasonably quick. But the food really is a hit or a miss. When presented with an A La Carte menu, the expectation is for top class food. It's not that, by a long way. The starters were ok, calamari, ravioli and arancini. Pizzas were ok too. But, the Spicy sausage pasta was undercooked, wasn't spicy, and the sausage was tough, tasteless and bitty. I couldn't finish it. The carbonara arrived with the egg yolk on top all ready to be mixed through the dish... it was rock solid. The pasta was tough and tasted undercooked and tasted underwhelming. The meal was £200 for 5 of us, 2 courses each some diet cokes, and a bottle of wine. The price is fine if the food is great, but it wasn't. If pasta dishes aren't cooked fresh they aren't worth eating. If these pasta dishes were cooked fresh, then the chefs need to really practice them, and I would highly recommend the owners taste their own menu. If they think that's good food then they need to think again. Disappointed ... again.

Booked here for Valentines evening with my partner. Pleasantly surprised to find a special menu, 3 courses for £30, which proved great value. The burrata starter in particular was sensational. All washed down with a large glass of Pinot noir. Highly recommend.

Cocktail bar lovely bar staff very attentive. Taken through to restaurant by front of house staff restaurant beautiful. First course garlic and rosemary bread but had to advise waitress needed a dip very dry . Main meal was presented lovely unfortunately cold plates not heated spoiled what should have been a nice meal. Overall a not to bad experience but would try elsewhere.

Really disappointed with the welcome given by female server. From the minute we arrived she gave us the impression that we were not welcome. Everything was a problem from asking for a high chair to telling her we had a voucher to pay… (voucher monetary which was a Christmas gift). Menus on website out of date. I specifically went on a Sunday as I liked the look of the Sunday lunch menu. When I asked the female server, she said they had not served this menu for over 2 years.. Again with an unfriendly manner. This female genuinely spoiled our little family day out with the way she made us feel. I have read another bad review about her too.. I’m not sure what her role is in this business but she needs to be aware that her attitude is not good and she should never make people feel the way she made us feel today. Otherwise the restaurant is lovely in a nice setting and the food was nice too. Shame about this female….

Love dining here, food and service is always fantastic and friendly, great wine list too. Ordered the steak ciabatta and carbonara, excellent quality and portion sizes, can’t wait for my next visit.

Cannot recommend highly enough. We were looking for a private space to host a family dinner for a 60th wedding anniversary. From booking to dining everything was seamless. As this was during the busy Christmas period we were asked to pay a deposit and pre-order our meals. This actually made it easier for everyone as instead of having to decide on menus on the night we could meet and chat on arrival knowing the restaurant had this in hand. We had the mezzanine level all to ourselves and although the restaurant was busy, the service was excellent. The meals were delicious. Extremely tasty and very well presented. 12 adults and one child and not one complaint. Businesses get a hard time if anything is not right so I feel they should also be recognised when they do it well, which Luci's really did. We will be back. Thank you Luci's 😊

I booked this to take my Parents and my 2 year kid son on Christmas eve. When we arrived I was disappointed to be immediately told that if anyone wanted the 3 course lunch then everyone had to get it. We had two vegetarians for which that menu didn't have much choice but my parents were keen on the festive menu. This caused alot of stressing and when asked further the wait staff didn't really give any explanation. We decided to all go for the festive menu so my parents could have what they want but I was disappointed as we wanted to pizzas. Instead we go camembert starter which had bread that was really really hard to eat and gnocchi which had butternut squash pieces that were a bit hard still. We really enjoyed the tiramisu dessert and my parents enjoyed the fillet steaks, although it came with only chips and no veg. I was a bit disappointed as we never been before and I took a risk booking it for Christmas eve meal. With that rules around the festive menu for the table as a vegetarian I wouldn't book again but might return to try a pizza on a less special occasion.

A delicious meal with all four of us very happy with our choices, so difficult to recommend a particular dish. The staff were unfailingly attentive and helpful.

Pre-Christmas lunch catch up with my friend. Warm welcome on arrival and friendly staff attended us throughout the meal. The restaurant was super cosy and beautifully decorated for the festive season. We ate from the lunch menu which is super value at £10 a head. Food was freshly cooked and delicious. Portions are large. We ordered sides which we didn’t need!! We’ll definitely return..

First time in Luci's for lunch and won't be the last time we visit. My wife's steak was cooked to perfection and my pepperoni pizza was delicious. Kevin who looked after us today with 5* service was a perfect host. Look forward to many more visits. Only downside is lack of disabled parking..

What a fantastic place. Recommended by my husband’s colleague and did not disappoint. The food was wonderful, I had the chowder followed by tagliatelle with mushrooms and truffles. Husband had garlic bread followed by chicken with veg. He said it was lovely. I had dessert, popcorn panna cotta and the most amazing ice cream. Cocktails were lovely and the staff were amazing. I felt very disappointed, I came a few weeks back with my girlfriend, and since then, I've raved to everyone how the food on the menu was and how amazing a meal I have had was. I think I even said it was one of the best meals I have had in a long time. Tonight, I was very disappointed to find the menu had changed. My girlfriend had been looking forward to her birthday meal here for weeks but she was heavily disappointed by the bland new menu and lack of choices from before. Ruined her birthday, thanks she is crying now 😭

Food is delicious and exactly what you'd hope from the description. Wait staff were very good with two children aged 2 and under. They also have colouring pencils and kids menu, with a competition on the back to win a £30 voucher each month. Slight inconvenience is the limited (and bumpy) parking, available at the front of the restaurant.

Lovely spot for lunch, food was excellent, service superb and they were great with the kids. Highly recommended.

Staff where amazing, restaurant clean, warm ,friendly. My son has a.s.d when we where in the restaurant my son started having a wee melt down,but kev he took care off us moved us too another table that looked out too a wee river and enjoyed a family meal,was lovely the staff are amazingly really helpful highly recommend food drinks prices great

This was the first time my friend and I had visited Luci’s and it won’t be the last. I would definitely recommend, not only the aesthetically pleasing surroundings (super clean all amenities), the relaxed, chilled atmosphere and the wonderful food and drinks. The very friendly services was the icing on the cake. Especially Chloe who made our night, she took great care of us and is a wonderful asset to Luci’s. If you’ve not been yet then go. Highly recommend.

Our second visit and will go back there many times. The food was delicious and plentiful. The staff were very cheerful, helpful and professional especially Chloe. Can’t fault Luci’s in any shape or form.

Comfortable with amazing music. The food was outstanding and the mocktails rocked. The girls who served us were friendly and helped us make the best menu choices.

Great venue with fantastic staff (especially Kevin) who went above and beyond for us. Food was delicious, cocktails were gorgeous and bill was very reasonable we can’t wait to return.

Would love to make this a positive review because the food and drinks there are excellent, but the car park surface is beyond shocking. There aren’t potholes, there are entire sections of the road surface just missing. The worst being bang in the middle of all the parking bays turning points, so you’re almost guaranteed to hit it. Even with slow speeds of a couple miles an hour, the base of the car hits the ground if you’re unlucky enough to hit one of the circa 73 craters that are there, which aren’t really avoidable so you’d be forgiven for doing so. It really ruins any good opinions I could have about the other aspects of the establishment. It’s not hard to have quality facilities. Just because it’s outside the restaurant, doesn’t mean it doesn’t matter.

Have been for here for cocktails and that was great. Friendly staff. Would like to be able to come here for food as I live in Lasswade, however my partner and I are vegan and there are pretty much no vegan options (focaccia and side portion of vegetables is about it) which is a real shame. These days almost all restaurants have at least one decent vegan main option (even the traditional pub over the road does!) so I feel Luci’s need to up their game.

Ross behind the bar was shaking & mixing the best cocktails I’ve tasted for a long time! Food was top class. Lamb lasagne was amazing, best food I’ve tasted locally in a long time 😃

We went here for lunch with friends the other day. It was our first time since the new ownership/refurb and we were very impressed with the design and and how immaculate it looked. The gent that served us was very friendly and helpful. The Sunday menu was new and caters for most diets. Most items were reasonably priced. Portion sizes were good and were well presented. I had the gnocchi which was very tasty. Quite possible the best gnocchi I’ve ever had. I got the haggis bon bons for a side and also the steamed broccoli with almonds. Both of which were excellent. For dessert I got the tart which was also nice. Others in the party also enjoyed their meals and couldn’t really fault it. We’ll for sure be back. Is it better than Gigi’s? Hmm…good question.
