The best restaurants in Haddington and Lammermuir East Lothian Edinburgh and Lothian

Bought lemon chicken and boiled rice but had to throw it away when I got home. The rice was hard and tasted ‘old’ like it was cooked yesterday. Half the chicken was ok but the rest had a strange taste and I didn’t want to risk food poisoning. There was also very little sauce. What a shame as I have visited this takeaway quite a few times over the years but I’m wondering if it’s changed hands? I phoned to let them know about the food and got no joy. Sadly I’ll not be driving the 20 mins to return and waste money on unpalatable food.

I ordered pizza and donner kabab it was rubbish waste of money not ordering food again food was very cold and tasteless felt like I was going to throw up very upset 😪

Ate here whilst staying the night. The menu was ok but would have liked to see some more regional dishes like Cullen Skink and Haggis. I had the haddock and chips and sticky toffee pudding for desert. It was all fine although the plate for the main was very small and there was too much coleslaw for my liking. The pudding was also supposed to come with cream or ice cream and they never asked me which I wanted. It came with neither, just lots of glacé cherries for some reason!!

Parking a problem. Getting a coffee takes at least 20 mins. One person doing the drinks and serving to tables at times does not help. Timing needs to improve.

Great room, good price, friendly staff. No complaints.

Wee visit to Hugo's Hall's Cafe. Lovely fresh environment and lovely friendly staff. Lovely slice of Victoria sponge and a glass of Irn Bru. Sponge was very yummy 😋

Does what it says on the tin. Quite a few things on the menu unavailable but food decent. Nice interior

I have used Marmaris for years and never had any problems until the new owners took over, it has went completely down hill, food is always cold and bland, prices are too much for the quality, and you are almost always waiting multiple hours for delivery no matter what day of the week. I won’t be using again.

This place is bad. I was there when it first opened and put down the naffness to teething problems. I ventured back in today. The staff behind the counter could not care less. Slap dash with a huge dollop of attitude. It explains why this place is quiet while other places offering lunch are queued out.
