Lovely pub lunch, food was first class,Starters of, albondegas spanish meatballs for me, Haggis Pakoras for my wife,Mains, Steak Pie & mash for me, Fish & chips for my wife, portions were huge, was early-ish on a Saturday, and it was quiet, but started to fill up when we were there, but staff were still very attentive. place was spotless. Nothing was too much bother to them. Will recommend to friends, and will certainly return.

Booked a table for 5. Wasn't too busy but there was an issue at the speed of the food arriving. Compensated with a round of drinks and when the food arrived it was spot on. Staff were extra apologetic and friendly

Oh dear, where do I begin; our experience last night went from bad to worse. We booked for 5 of us at 6.45 as we were informed at the time of booking that the kitchen closed at 7pm which I found odd for a central restaurant on a Saturday night in summer time but hey hoe. Our table was not reserved and we were shown to a table for 4, at 6.50, which was bare - no settings, cutlery, glasses, condiments, napkins. At 7.10 we asked for a menu, still no settings appeared. The place was crowded and only one young girl was serving the whole restaurant. One table of friends of ours warned us off the fish as they had left most of their meal as it was dry. And so to our food. We ordered 4 starters, 3 burgers and 2 prawn' linguine'. The soup was tasteless, the other 3 were fine. The burgers were edible but basic but the 'linguine' was not linguine it was more like noodles and there were zero prawns. We sent them back and declined a replacement. The lady at the table next to us also left her 'linguine'. I was very confused with the decor - the place was decked out to look like a French bistro - checked table cloths, French posters on the walls and a mannequin with red beret, stripy t shirt and neckerchief, yet there was nothing vaguely resembling a French influence on the menu. To be fair the waiting/bar staff were in no way to blame for this fiasco, they did there best in difficult circumstances. We were hoping that this might be a regular place for us to eat but the management really need to look at their set up as Haddington is desperately in need of a good central restaurant.

Booked for dinner which previously has been ok. The bar and restaurant are all in one , wasn’t as open as that the last time we went so now while you sit and eat the locals are all drunk and noisy , music blaring and just not nice. Last night took the biscuit, a group of potty mouthed women who had been dining in the restaurant area were so loud , singing swearing and heard all about ones sex life …. We felt for the elderly couple who had came in for wine and a meal, it was not a pleasant environment. All the manager had to do was ask them politely to keep it down or move us or them upstairs. Food wasn’t great, peas were awful, atmosphere not great doubt we will go back

I love the food here, the prices are a bit expensive however it’s definitely worth it as a treat in my opinion. I love the chicken skewers, the rice and curry sauce, the chicken chow mein was also pretty good. The staff are okay, not overly friendly which i enjoy I’m not too keen on waiters putting on a full performance to possibly get a tip, staff in here just do their jobs, love that. Overall it’s a pretty casual atmosphere with options to sit in or takeaway, or for delivery. However it is closed Monday and Tuesday, but open every other day from 5-10pm however 9pm cut off time for sitting in. Street parking is available however it may be difficult during busier/tourist periods. Pets not welcome.

One member of staff should not be public facing - twice I have been in over the last 6 months and the same member of staff doesn't care how she talks to customers- food and coffee lovely and other staff really nice though such a shame

Smallest smoke sausage supper you have ever seen. Not even given half a smoked sausage. Not worth the money. Chips tasted sweet and a lot burnt. Overrated chippy

My son bought this deep fried beef dish. I took it back to say it wasn’t fit for human consumption and would like a full refund to be shouted at and asked to leave the shop. The lettuce was off and the beef wasn’t any better also dish looked as dry as an Arabs sandle . I Wouldn’t give this to a dog definitely won’t be back. (Food still under scientific review) lol

Had booked a table for 2 adults and 2 kids for Sunday lunch (carvery). Arrived and stood waiting for about 10mins before we were seated. Had a sinking feeling at this point as the place is v dated and there seemed to be little staff on. Initially only 1 behind the carvery and another who was on the bar and serving. We were taken to our table and left. Sat for 10 mins waiting for our order to be taken. Another table arrived with a new waiter and I overheard them being told to order at the bar. I caught waiter and checked this. Queued at bar where we had another wait and then finally got to carvery. A family ahead of us had given up by this point and plates half full asked for their money back. We persevered. Food was ok. Plates were cold and portions of meat were tiny. Extremely disappointed in our experience and would not go back. Do not recommend.
