The best restaurants in Scotland

We had a lovely lunch today. Sandwiches, cakes & coffee were excellent! Service was friendly and efficient. Toilet facilities were great too.

Fab scones, soup, quiche, lasagne, bacon rolls not forgetting the Lemon Drizzle cake plus plus. Real community cafe with lots of fab people.

¡Conseguí una cena de pescado de esta pequeña joya esta noche y es sin duda la mejor que he probado! Tan fresco, enorme y rebozado agradable y crujiente. Definitivamente volveremos.

Had a great night last night, super cosy and stunning cocktails. Whoever invented them for sure knows their stuff. Massive props to the staff, who were attentive, kind, and went the extra mile when I left my wallet!!! Will defo be back :D

Food was lovely, had a gluten free range aswell without any issues staff could advise what was gluten free from menu - value for money aswell as big portions

loved the scenery, loved the food, staff were excellant, and they had a great sense of humour, sitting at the log fire in entrance late at night was very relaxing.

Het gebouw zag er van buitenaf uit alsof het gesloten was, maar toen we dichterbij kwamen zagen we toch licht branden. En gelukkig zijn we naar binnen gegaan! We werden heel hartelijk ontvangen en hebben heerlijke burgers gegeten. We kozen voor een visburger en een burger met kip en bacon. Allebei super lekker! En de frietjes die je erbij krijgt zijn ook heerlijk en vers. Er stond een leuk muziekje aan en de ruimte was mooi ingericht. Vanbinnen is het dus een stuk gezelliger dan de buitenkant zou verwachten. Het restaurant heeft geen alcohol licentie, maar als je toch een biertje of wijntje wil drinken, dan kan je deze bij de supermarkt tegenover kopen en meenemen naar het restaurant. Echt een aanrader! We hebben hier een super vriendelijk ontvangst gekregen en de lekkerste burgers gegeten van onze hele reis door Schotland!

I was I today for a quick lunch. It was my first visit but couldn’t fault the service. The lady who served me was fantastic. Nothing too much hassle, genuine interest in speaking with me and a lovely lunch served. She’s a credit to the business.

Well if you want to meet nice waiting staff here is the place to go ,order placed and double checked.All good you think ? If you think there's a chef back there that can read the order then you are wrong . Burger ordered ,no cheese,brought out with cheese ! Goats cheese "pizza"( baguette )without the goats cheese And the icing on the cake Meat chilli instead of 5 bean vegetarian chilli ! The waitress noticed the no goats cheese as she served it and took it away to bring it back with dollops of cheese added ( not melted). My husband put up with cheese on the burger .My sister thought? is this Quorn or real mince and it was sent back as the waitress confirmed it was real mince ! On going to pay the bill I expected the chilli to be taken off the bill as I hate that it's arriving later and one person is eating on their own , to be told by the chef ,in his 25 years in the industry he has never heard of anyone taking a meal off the bill because it was wrong ,nor did he apologize!His attitude was you got it didn't you ,you aren't getting you fed meat to a vegetarian! He actually had a really bad attitude with me saying I'll take a couple of quid off but not £10.50 .I said it's the first time I've visited and it will be my last and he said he would have said more but there were other customers there ! If you had videoed it you'd still think unbelievable did it really happen . A cafe in the middle of nowhere,thought we would give it a try as it was dog friendly and had a garden centre. We bypassed plants and I'd rather have given the £50 I wasted there to charity . Awful,awful guy . AVOID!

We booked the bistro for a family gathering to celebrate our surprise wedding and were extremely satisfied with all aspects. We had a table in the bright airy conservatory area overlooking the gardens and it wasn't too busy at that point. The gardens were a bit sad looking in places but we got some nice photos taken. The food was excellent, good size portions and value for money and the children all found stuff they enjoyed. Cocktails from the bar were fab and all in all we were pleased with our visit. The staff were extremely accommodating and helpful

Tried to visit here in July but a local told us it closed after lockdown so don’t go here as there is a very limited choice in Stanley. The Stathord Inn serves good food at an excellent price.

La comida para llevar la ordené de antemano y la recogí según lo acordado con el restaurante. Solo cuando llegué a casa me di cuenta de que una parte del pedido no estaba el plato de pollo Contadina y que había otro plato de bolognase en su lugar que estaba sabroso, pero no lo que se ordenó, por lo que el personal del lugar se encargó de resolverlo como errores. no debería suceder Aparte de eso, una gran cantidad de comida real y sabrosa con ella! !

Popped in for coffees - bit of a wait because it was so busy - but worth waiting for. Excellent flat white and Americano. Didn’t eat but the look of the snacks was excellent. Plenty of seating inside and out. Good range of snacks and gifts.

Qué lindo negocio independiente. Es tan lindo y acogedor por dentro. Hay muchas opciones de bebidas y panini / sándwich. Un montón de artículos a la venta - vaca de montaña temática, por supuesto! Compramos esta bandeja para el regazo de nuestra sala de estar temática de vacas de las tierras altas. Hay un aparcamiento muy cerca. Hay un montón de cosas que hacer en esta zona - helados, restaurantes, tiendas de regalos, el puerto y las casas de colores a lo largo de allí (he adjuntado algunas fotos de ellos). A wonderful lunch we did not plan the visit and they were able to accommodate us. A great choice was available to meet a variety of needs. We opted for the fritters (black pudding and haggis) as a starter to share. This was delightful. The main courses were equally good with mother in law having beef lasagne whilst the Hunters chicken beckoned me. Well worth a trip
