Definitely one my(our) favourite places for food, constantly great, usually try and have something of the specials board.

This place is excellent. Friendly service, real ales, big space, dog friendly , and fantastic menu. They have all the usual pub favourites but also a lot of other really delicious fare. There's a lot of vegetarian options, too. We'll be back soon!
What a wee gem! We wanted to stop on the way back to Glasgow and seen this place on Google maps and we are so happy we did. Food was exceptional and service fabulous 👌 100% recommend
What a perfect place to celebrate my 60th birthday. We loved every minute. The food was perfect in every way. Great staff , cracking atmosphere. Thank you
Visited for Sunday brunch and sat right at the back. The restaurant was absolutely freezing. Just about everyone had coats or jackets on. Food was good, always consistent. The majority of service was good, host was lovely. When I asked for a macchiatto the male server asked me if I knew what that was, yes I said. He said, I don't know how to explain this but it's not a latte and was OK was that? Yes, that why I asked for a macchiatto. Sigh! So FOM, turn on your heating when it's less than 10 degrees outside and make sure you servers don't treat people like they don't know what they are ordering, a bit patronising.
Brilliant Indian restaurant. Excellent food in very generous portions. If you don't finish all the food you order, ask of a couple of plastic tubs to take it away for lunch the next day. Atmosphere was good, although the restaurant did empty quickly around 9pm.
Highly Recommended.
Absolutely amazing visit here and can’t wait to go back. Firstly we loved the location and even on a driech day it was warm and inviting. All staff were genuinely polite, friendly and welcoming and delivered great service throughout. We were mostly served by Carol who could teach masterclass in true customer service to many other places we’ve visited. There were a few things we liked. Firstly it was bright, modern and super clean. Secondly we liked that it was lots of little areas which made our visit more cosy and quiet. Thirdly we loved that this is not a haunt for screaming kids and endless pushchairs. We had a lovely, quiet lunch with each food and drink item being absolutely perfect. We opted for a coffee and their soup and sandwich combo. Sandwiches arrived in the freshest bread and came with salad and crisps. I had the Cullen Skink and husband had the lentil soup. Both were piping hot and absolutely delicious. We couldn’t eat another thing by the end but did choose a couple of homemade tray bakes to take away. If you’re looking for somewhere for a lovely lunch out or just coffee and a cake I’d highly recommend here. Food, service and setting were all perfect and can’t wait to go back.
The past few times I've been to Dumfries, I always stop in to Mrs Greens Tea Lounge for some cake and a mug of something hot--or, in this case, for some lunch. The service is always friendly, the atmosphere inviting, and the food tasty. Highly recommend!
My partner and I chose The Green Tree Hotel restaurant for dinner on Friday Feb 14th 2025, as they had a special Valentines Day Menu. We were disappointed in its choice so opted for their regular menu. I ordered a burger with bacon and cheese. The burger was DEFINITELY shop-bought and the bacon, hard. My partner's chicken curry had raisins in it, a throwback to the '70's I think.
Furthermore, the lighting was WAY too bright for a romantic Valentines Day setting.
WHAT a disappointment!
Great menu and lively specials, food was lovely (top quality at normal prices), great for kids with kids made pizza!!!
Lovely restaurant and setting (right on the sea). Highly recommend.
