The Swan Inn in East Renfrewshire

What a wee gem! We wanted to stop on the way back to Glasgow and seen this place on Google maps and we are so happy we did. Food was exceptional and service fabulous 👌 100% recommend

Great food and large portions. I had steak pie and it was beautifully cooked and presented. Very attentive service. Would recommend.

Portions were small, bin behind a curtain was overflowing, noise was very loud , the place is small and stuffy , deffo won't be back.

We just moved into the area and wanted a pub not too far away from us. Had a good meal there, staff were friendly. Local chatted to us, perfect !

You’d think a respectable establishment would prioritize hiring individuals with at least a shred of integrity or basic decency. Instead, they’ve chosen at least one person to form their staff who, by all accounts, couldn’t be further from someone you would want to cook you a meal. A chef is supposed to represent the heart and soul of a restaurant, yet here we have someone who seems to lack both. It’s not just disappointing—it’s outright offensive that this person is given a platform to represent anything other than poor judgment. If you value supporting establishments that align with basic moral standards, do yourself a favor and avoid this place. There are plenty of restaurants out there that don’t need to scrape the bottom of the barrel for staff.

We went hoping to have the fixed price menu but were told by the courteous and polite staff that it was suspended until the week after. Fair enough, just after New Year etc. Excellent food, excellent service. Nice family atmosphere. Would recommend and will be back!!!

Was there on the Saturday evening before Xmas. Place was mobbed but this added to the atmosphere. Service was great as was the food. Amazing turkey dinner. And not silly prices too, like every other restaurant in December.

We were a party of 12 and mostly the food was good however my starter (scallops & black pudding) was cold also the pea purée had not been puréed so I just got peas- another of our party also had to send her food back as it was also cold/ other than that the staff were amazing and the atmosphere brilliant!! Thanks for making our night so great!!

We have started us6 here for family gathering (s). The food is excellent, the staff cheerful. Try the Cullen Skink on a cold day it's a brilliant winter warmer, my Grandson swears by the muscles in chilli sauce. Ps downstairs is also dog friendly

Proper homely food. Both the prawn cocktail & lasagne were immense. Was like going back in time to when portions were so much bigger.

My partner and I ate in the bar area on Friday night. Food was great, service friendly and helpful and the place had a really nice vibe.

It's been years since I've been in the Swan and I'd forgotten how cosy it is. Our meal was excellent and really good value for the portions, under £17 for two courses for lunch is hard to beat. If possible I would like to raise service to 4.5, it's not an issue, it just seemed to take a little longer than expected to serve mains.

Stopped of for a late lunch on way back from EK.Food and service was brilliant.Girls were so friendly & helpful. Definitely dog friendly gizmo our dog was spoiled rotten 😂. Definitely make this a regular stop on our trips from EK to Kilmarnock.🍻🌈

Only reason for 4* on food was because despite an early booking( 5pm) a couple of dishes were off. Other than that, food order was very good and nice to find a welcoming traditional Inn with a modern vibe. Pleasant staff and it is dog friendly. What's not to like !

Delicious Sunday roasts which are really great value (£17 for Chicken and 18 for Beef) Staff are fabulous and very welcoming.

Here following a funeral, but very impressed by the experience. There is plenty of roadside psrking. The staff were helpful, courteous, and obliging, helping to put people at ease. Rolls with sliced sausage or bacon were great as we're their selection of scones. An unhurried and appropriate experience.

If you've not been, GO.... Was there for the 4th time last night. The food , place and staff are amazing.

What a lovely wee pub! The staff couldn't have been nore pleasant and helpful. Food was delicious-mussels and then pasta- and the Malbec was as good as I've had in much posher places and costing a whole lot more! You must visit, I'll certainly be back 🥰

Being wanting to try the Swan Inn for ages, didn't disappoint. Braised beef was fantastic as we're the starters and other main of chicken supreme.

Best Fish&chips i think ive ever eaten. Also butter chicken curry was lovely. Great staff. Smart decor and lovely roaring open fire. Nostalgic visit for us as my Grandmother was born and grew up a couple of cottages up the hill from the swan in the early 1900's and probibly used this pub too. She was Evelyn Montgomery.

Popped in here with my Aunt and Uncle for lunch. Great little pub and restaurant. Excellent food and portion size. I had the fish and chips which were amazing.

Was ok didn't get to sit in the restaurant as booked put near very near to the door d so every time door opens you get a blast of very cold air,

Stopped for a quick drink on the way back from a walk. There was a lovely fire to take off the chill. Had some snacks and they were great. It's dog friendly too.

Our local pub now and we will be regular visitors. Great Sunday roast and a nice pint by the fire

Outstanding place to stay in Grasmere and the Lake District. We stayed for three nights in January. The rooms were roomy and extremely clean and comfortable. The meals were fresh and delicious. The cozy sitting areas were perfect for enjoying drinks and chatting with fellow travelers. Besides the convenient location to walking trails and the village center, was the entire staff! Nellie, the manager and reception person, took care of everyone with the utmost warmth and friendliness. She worked the longest days and still took care of every customer like a close friend. Bartenders Nicki and Sam took dinner orders and whipped up great drinks with friendly conversation. Tony, the chef, and other staff members took care of every guest’s request with a smile and positive attitude. Every aspect of the Swan Inn deserves five stars. We can’t wait to return.

What a great find, staff were so friendly and food is very fresh and very tasty. We had the seafood stew, macaroni cheese and duck shepherd's pie. They were all exceptional.

We popped in here last-minute, just for a wee dessert and a cup of tea. WOW, never been here and were blown away with the friendliness of the staff, lovely atmosphere and the sticky toffee pudding was the best we've tasted. We also took the dog, who is very well behaved and they catered well for him. Wouldn't hesitate for going back for a full meal.

What a splendid place this is! The steak and ale pie was the most delicious I have ever eaten and the young woman who served us was utterly delightful! Both of us so enjoyed our meal here and I cannot recommend it enough!

Dog friendly with a really cheerful staff, the food is excellent, my wife is vegetarian and they have an excellent menu for her, for the carnivorous members of the party there was a fantastic choice. The lamb is brilliant

Popped in for a late lunch for 2. The menu had a good selection and went for the 2 course option. The decor is well done and promotes a pleasant relaxed atmosphere. The staff were very welcoming and helpful. The food was very tasty - nice starters. I chose the steak pie for main. The gravy was fab. as was the pastry but the meat, however, was a little firm for my liking. Overall very enjoyable and we will be back to sample more of the delicious menu.

My favourite place for a pub lunch. Staff are great, music is smashing - foods absolutely delicious. (So tasty in fact I even eat the veg that comes with my meal which is previously unheard of) The Chicken Tempura & Steak Pie is soooo good!

Booked last minute and they managed to get us a table. The 4 of us had 2 courses each and the food was just great. Wish I could remember the blonde girls name as she was the one who booked us and served us as well, thank you.

Went for late lunch today after a recommendation. Situated on a really nice street in Eaglesham which feels like a million miles from the city, very traditional pub but doesn’t feel tired inside. Clean and great facilities. Excellent service very attentive and friendly without being overbearing. Menu is really well priced and the portion sizes are very generous. Quality produce used with varied dishes on offer plenty options for veggies vegans etc. looking forward to visiting again.

Visited here on Friday 30/6 for the first time with our friends who were celebrating their 50th anniversary and we were not disappointed. Friendly, attentive service throughout our visit and the food was delicious and cooked perfectly only tiny blip was no mussels on offer as fish delivery hadn’t arrived also we all opted for a brandy instead of dessert to finish off our meal which was served in a tumbler instead of brandy glass, not the end of the world I know but always seems to taste nicer in proper glass. Thank you for a perfect afternoon we will be back.

Great food and great staff . Can't wait to visit again. Staff are so welcoming. Came up for swimming competition with Son and he found the swan inn . Not disappointed .

Sunday roast is what I would recommend! Great place to take family and dog for a good Sunday roast. You are best to book if you are taking a dog as you can only be in the lower half. Food (roast) was lovely last time I was in and wife had Steak and Ale pie that she very much liked. No complaints from the kids from the children’s menu. Go for a walk round the wind farm then go have a Sunday dinner here.

We were upstsirs very quiet and cold will remember to sit downstairs if we come back.

First time visiting, was recommended by a friend. Popped in for lunch with visiting family and it was a fantastic lunch, great service and very reasonably priced. Will be back soon. Cheers
