A lovely quaint cosy place to stop for a coffee or a quick snack. They usually do a selection of 3 soups with home made scones to go with them, and then there's a range of homemade buns and cookies. There's artisan felt and paintings both on display and for sale, and they have classes to show you how to do them and also how to make their menu items. Always a warm welcome and lovely views over the Mournes countryside. And don't forget about Freddie their big friendly dog getting everybody- and ever hopeful to scrounge a little treat!
Situated on Central Promenade, Newcastle, Co.Down the covered outdoor seating gives a truly Mediterrean atmosphere as you admire the views of the harbour and Slieve Donard, the highest peak in Northern Ireland, as it sweeps down to the sea. Choose one of the fabulous Base Coffee drinks or select from the range of herbal teas. For morning snacks try the sausage rolls, croisants or scone with fresh jam. Then later in the day you must try the home baked apple pie of one of the delicious (but huge) tray bakes. Base Coffee is not just a coffee shop, it's a hub for many regulars and undoubtedly you will very quickly feel welcome.
Lovely relaxing location with views over Belfast Lough, very close to Belfast but a world away. Conor & Bernie were excellent hosts.
The tasting menu with matching wines was fantastic, particularly the carrot soup with coconut and sweet chilli prawns, the scallops with crispy leeks and the fillet steak was amazing.
Nice touch to have complimentary port in the bedroom.
Breakfast was also delicious.

Without doubt the best pizza I’ve ever had. I will never visit Domino’s again! The owner of the takeaway is friendly and the pizza is made fresh to order and ready within about ten minutes. I’ll be back soon!
Absolutely awesome 🤩 we had a few small plates to get a good feel for the variety of the menu and WOW! My personal fav was chicken parfait but every single mouthful was heaven. I hope this restaurant gets awarded a Michelin star it would be well deserved ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ will defo be back
HIGHLY RECOMMENDED
We had the fillet steak with a selection of sides, a lovely bottle of wine and finished with the sticky toffee pudding. Everything was beautifully cooked and the service was wonderful throughout. A fantastic evening – thank you!
Fantastic food and wonderful friendly service. I had the salted chilli chicken and bacon and cheese fries very tasty. My friend had the burger and it was delicious as well. Highly recommended.
I had the pleasure of dining at Origin 101 for a 50th wedding anniversary celebration. The ambience was absolutely charming, the food superb, the waitstaff very professional and Kelsey, the proprietor very welcome and accommodating. If only I lived in Moira, I would return often. As it was, I asked her to consider opening a second location in Connecticut. One can only hope.
Only found this place in July have been almost every week since , the best pizza on the island of Ireland, other dishes are of top quality, staff warm , friendly & attentive, this place is a real find, I travel a lot and eat out all over the world, firebox is up there with the best, and sadly this comes to an end December 24 as it closes. I'm so ,so 😢

Have been to Cafe Trax quite a few times. Had noticed last time I went they do lasagne. So today I tried it. All I can say this was one of best I've ever had. So so tasty, served with lovely garlic bread, slaw and skinnychips on a hot plate. Granny had beautiful freshly battered fish, peas, tartar sauce and skinny fries. She said she never eats all her food. She did today!!! Would highly recommend this beautiful warm friendly cafe.

Suprisely got a table for 2 on fathers day. Lizzies was really busy and perhaps had to wait a bit longer than usual butvthecfinnercand service was well worth the wait. Great food.. great service and not too hard on the pocket either.
Cute cosy and intimate. The feel of a family business . Homemade scones biscuits and bakes are simply devine . One can't but help falling on love with this little cafe . staff are happy helpful and hospitable . I felt valued and welcome . A Gem in Lisburn .
We were staying just down the road and came a couple of evenings for a drink. Tiny bar frequented by a handful of regulars, all of whom were exceptionally friendly and made us feel really welcome. Thank you Tom, Pat and Eddie for your hospitality and company. This was the highlight of our trip to Northern Ireland.
