Lovely relaxing location with views over Belfast Lough, very close to Belfast but a world away. Conor & Bernie were excellent hosts. The tasting menu with matching wines was fantastic, particularly the carrot soup with coconut and sweet chilli prawns, the scallops with crispy leeks and the fillet steak was amazing. Nice touch to have complimentary port in the bedroom. Breakfast was also delicious.

Lovely guesthouse and easy to find and park. Bernie the owner was very friendly. The chef was not available that night so we walked to High Street and ate at Indian Ocean which was excellent. We had the top room in the house so lots of stairs. There did not appear to be other guests. We left early for airport so did got get breakfast rate, although menu choices appeared excellent.

Our stay at RayAnne House was everything we expected it to be. We had a wonderful room (#14). It had a wonderful view over the bay. The room was large, very clean with lots of little personal touches lifted the experience for good to excellent. The bed was very comfortable. We had the Titanic Experience Dinner and it was incredible. The dining room perfectly set the mood for the evening. We started with pre-dinner drinks in the drawing room and then we were invited into the dining room. Each course (there were 9) were served with an excellent presentation, the taste of each dish was to die for. The night lasted 4 1/2 hours and was just wonderful. All the guests entered into the experience and dressed according to the evening, which I must say was appreciated as today it appears that dress code is not a la mode. After a good nights sleep we were served a perfect breakfast. The staff throughout were first rate, friendly, helpful. It was as the title say a truly exquisite stay.

What a fantastic evening. To escape the mayhem of central Belfast bars and arrive in this oasis of calm was wonderful. We left the choice for our tasting menu up to Connor and he delivered with style. It was Michelin star quality but at a very reasonable price. A memorable evening indeed. Thanks to Connor and Kate.

This is the best food i have ever tasted. My husband and i have dined in top restaurants but this tops them off. We went for the titanic menu and every course was unbelievable. My daughter had her wedding reception here last Saturday and the experience was brilliant. The house has many old features with many light and bright rooms. The staff were very helpful and nothing was too much trouble. The tables were all laid out with crystal glasses and silver cutlery. The food itself was out of this world. We had a choice of three starters, main course and dessert. Many of the men had ordered steak and each man was asked how they would like their steak cooked. When the steaks arrived each one was cooked as requested. I was even surprised with the layout of the ladies toilets. The decor was wonderful and here nothing was left to chance. After having had to wear hat and taking it off for the evening reception there was hair spray and perfume left for the ladies to use. The evening entertainment was a guy playing a guitar and he had set up in one of the sitting rooms. We asked if he was willing to play outside on the decking and the hotel gave their permission. It was a wonderful experience and a lovely finish to what had been a wonderful day. Many thanks to Connor and Bernie for all their help in making the day so memorable.

We stayed here while attending a wedding. I have dined here before, and it was excellent, so we thought that we would try their B&B. The bedroom was on the top floor (so not suitable for those with mobility issues) and had an excellent view over Belfast Lough. Good sized room with walk-in cupboard. The en-suite had an excellent shower. The only problem, and why I’m not awarding 5*, is that the room smelt of cigarettes. There was an ashtray on the balcony. Nowadays I don’t expect a smoky bedroom. Breakfast is a real feast with a comprehensive and varied menu from which you select your choices the night before. All in all an excellent choice for an overnight stay (or a bit longer), but the smoking issue needs to be addressed.

We took the opportunity of visiting Rayanne House to sample its Tasting Menu and we were not disappointed. The whole evening was fab; the warm welcome, the stellar service (thank you Bernie & Kate) the gorgeous surroundings and the incredible view. Everything just falls together to ensure you have the perfect dining experience. Loved every single course, but the highlights for me were the Kilkeel Curried Crab Salad, Carrot & Coconut Soup (who knew!) the Lemon Sole and the Lamb - those last two dishes being ones that I would rarely go for when eating out. All the wines selected by Conor & Bernie to accompany each course only add to the whole thing - in particular, the German Riesling. (So nice that it prompted me to pick up a couple of bottles of long-forgotten German white wines - yummy!) Thank you all once again for a fantastically tasty evening.

Our family of 4 spent 4 nights here and took 2 rooms. The owners were away on holiday and they left the house in the very capable hands of Matt. He was so very kind and helpful and really is the reason our stay, and this review, is a 5. When we arrived we were taken to our rooms which were across the hall from each another. The bed in our room was not big enough for me and my husband. Matt immediately set about finding us another room with a bigger bed. We ended up taking the room, and although small, it was comfortable and clean. The room where the kids stayed had a full size bed and a twin. It was also on the top floor with beautiful views of the lake. The house itself is beautiful and decorated nicely. I am not really sure if the location is the best but Belfast is only about a 15 minute taxi ride. The house is located close to Hollywood which has a couple of restaurants. I tend to like places near city centers as there are more choices for restaurants and shops. However, the Rayanne House was worth being further away from the center. Breakfast every morning was delicious with a varied menu. Matt also prepared an excellent dinner for us as well. This is a great place to stay!

Fabulously charming setting that fits perfectly with the signature Titanic tasting menu!I don't like to look at a menu before I go to a restuarant - I love the element of surprise....and that's exactly what I got!We had the seasonal tasting menu this time, and my hubby and I rate each course as to how much we enjoy them.I don't eat mushrooms or eel and would never order prawns, so I was a little concerned to see that these were the main ingredients in the first three courses.I needn't have worried..... Chef Conor had woven his magic - as he does with the salmon that I would NEVER have ordered and now love on the Titanic menu. The mushrooms came second, only slightly behind venison, followed in third by eel and prawns in forth! What an experience - Chef Conor has magic in his skills - we can't wait to go back!Thank you for a fabulous evening!

We book months in advance for our 22nd wedding anniversary and awaited in anticipation for the culinary delight that lay ahead. We arrived rang the doorbell and were greeted in a friendly professional manner and shown to our seats where we were offered a glass of complimentary champagne a nice touch. Several couples were around in the drawing room and we assumed that more were next door however this was not the case and a jolly party of 8 were there and they got more noisy as the evening progressed. We had a good table in the restaurant excellently decorated and with good information about the titanic (we were there for the titanic tasting menu) very apt!We didn't have wine and opted for a couple of glasses of still mineral water. Every time our glasses had a sip from them a waitress came and refilled them. Service was impeccable and couldn't be faulted in any form it manner. The nine courses were decadent and each one mouth watering, well presented and prepared a true dunning experience and may I say one of the best for food in Northern Ireland to be truly recommended!! I certainly plan to go back as the decor, service and food where absolutely amazing however I would check that no large party were booked in the same evening. As this spoiled the romantic ambience that we were hoping for.

I have stayed at the Rayanne on a number of occasions now - most recently in November for a friends wedding in Belfast. Upon arrival you feel instantly welcomed. We were shown to our room, which was with a lough view as requested. The room was in fantastic condition and the staff engaged in some light conversation about why we were staying. We had the breakfast the next morning and I would recommend anyone that stays makes sure and tries the grilled breakfast, and the fresh pressed juices, a great start to a day of exploring the local regions while in the area.

Had 3 nights at the Rayanne recently and it is an interesting place!! It is in a great location for the airport and getting into Belfast city centre and has adequate parking but it is a bit of a time warp. On arrival, it is fairly old-fashioned with regard to the decor, furnishings and carpets in the public rooms but that is just a matter of personal taste. It was clean and the staff were very welcoming and helpful. When we entered our bedrooms tho' we were very disappointed indeed. We were a party of 3 and had rooms 4 and 5 and the rooms were nothing like anything shown on the website or in the brochure. Very run-down and desperately needing to be re-furbished, we could not believe that this was supposedly a 5***** establishment. One of the curtains was hanging off the rail altho' that was sorted the next day. Our very old wooden french windows did not stay open properly as the latch on one side was broken so we couldn't leave the window open at night. The bathroom was a strange colour, a mix of avocado green and brown with very old pine fittings and the shower was little more than a trickle. The room was clean tho and had some nice touches but was seriously dated. The wardrobe was very small in width and height and there was no chest of drawers, only some shelving compartment in the bureau, even tho' the room was huge! Luckily we were only there for 3 nights but if we had had a lot of luggage we would have struggled to find anywhere to put it all. We did complain to the management and to be fair to them they gave us a discount with no arguments. We found out that room 4 is going to be refurbished early next year and then presumably room 5 will be after that. We were shown some of the other bedrooms which had been refurbished and they looked stunning and modern and we would have been delighted to have stayed in any of them. The breakfasts were fabulous and the staff were really friendly and attentive. I would recommend the Rayanne but make sure you don't get put into either room 4 or 5. We were never told they would be inferior rooms and it would have been interesting to know if we would have been offered a discount if we hadn't complained!

Celebrated my 40th birthday here in June as a group of 8 adults and 3 children in their private dining. Both the food and service we received were outstanding. Bernie had been a huge help with the planning leading up to the big day. For starters the soft-shell crab, the herring and the asparagus tart dishes all proved popular. For main course I had an amazing vegetarian platter, nothing quite like any veggie dish I had seen before! It's so nice to have something inventive and different from the ubiquitous goat's cheese. The rest of the group really enjoyed their various mains, choosing between steak Diane, lamb and scallops dishes amongst others, all of which were truly delicious. For dessert the chocolate torte proved a winner as did the rhubarb compote and the coconut cake. The service was very attentive and friendly plus the wine very reasonable. All in all, I would highly recommend their private dining especially for families or groups with young children who want to be able to enjoy a meal out together, without having to run round after their kids in a public restaurant. Many thanks Rayanne House for an excellent and memorable birthday celebration.

A jewel of a country hotel in the middle of a housing development, which - as a result - masquerades as a B&B. Excellent hostess and owner; great rooms - even the slightly eccentric (to a non-golfer) Rory's - with a golf course as a bathroom!; brilliant staff; excellent service; good supply of safety pins for emergency trouser repairs; and a breakfast to die for. Ulster fry is a masterpiece. Kipper off the bone was a great disappointment though - always fancy my chance as a surgeon. Not to be missed - if you can find it!

I have been to Rayanne several times before, the Titanic menu and simply for breakfast and I cannot recommend either highly enough. Absolutely delicious. We went for the titanic menu the year it started at Rayanne, so I think it was june 2012. I still remember each course and the absolute delight at how good each course was. We were giddy it was so good. One of our most memorable evenings out. Fantastic. With this in mind we have decided to book our wedding meal with our family here in June. And we cannot wait. On Saturday 19 April we went along for a tasting menu evening to get the wedding excitement building. It is the most beautiful setting. The sun was beaming through the huge dining room windows. The dining room was full. The room was buzzing. You arrive 30 minutes early for a little drink and canapés which I really liked before you get stuck in. What followed was a feast. Honestly. Each course was cooked perfectly and there was a nice breather in between. The staff that Bernie has with her are excellent. They can't be more helpful or friendly but they don't invade your space either. My highlights with food was the amuse bouche, a plump herb crumbed scallop, perfect opener. (Please do this on my wedding day) we both loved the turbot, potato bread, beetroot and curry oil. The sorbet was really good. I think it was pear. Im not normally keen on sorbet but this was really really nice and very sweet presentation. Other highlights were the dessert, again I would never pick rhubarb but the poached rhubarb, yoghurt and broken biscotti was so light but sweet and creamy. Loved it. The food from start to finish was made with such care. It was easy to see. Oh the warmed cashel blue on fried walnut bread was absolutely gorgeous! I will be honest after the evening of eating we had it nearly pushed me over the edge but it was so simple but outstanding. The night finished with tea or coffee and petit fours. We rolled home :)We had a brilliant time, roll on June!! Thanks everyone.

A large group of us went for the Titanic menu. I felt a little awkward being the only vegetarian but when the service started I realised I had no reason to be. The food they produced was outstanding! I expected to skip a course of two, after all what sane person would expect the fish course to be made vegetarian? I was totally wrong and they made sure I didn't miss out on anything. Who knew a scallop could be made veggie?! (a small quiche instead of the scallop, incase you're wondering). Amazing experience and I'd heartily recommend it. Thanks Rayanne House

I stayed at Rayanne house for 4 nights- thats four amazing breakfasts - and held my Wedding reception here opting for the Winter Menu for 29 adult guests and the childrens menu for the 3 kids who were with us.First the Breakfast. There aren't enough words to describe just how tasty the breakfast options are- and I've never seen so many options on a breakfast menu before. Breakfast is semi-formal, with menu chosen that night before. Both courses are served to you at the time you specifiy. On the first morning I went for the Home~ made Prune Soufflé on a Puree of Fresh Green Figs. I'm neither a prune or a fig fan normally but I figured I'd try something different. It was absolutely gorgeous and so beautifully presented. I followed this with Hot toasted Potato Bread smothered with Melted Irish Cheddar, served with Cured Bacon & Spiced Chutney- which again was beautifully presented and very very tasty. My friend had the Caramel Cinnamon Spiced Oranges and Cranberries with Hazelnut Yoghurt to start -which I of course had to try - it tasted like Christmas and the presentation was very pretty. On my 2nd day I had the Hot Rayanne Baked Cereal (Muesli, Fresh Fruit, Honey, Special Spices, Irish Whiskey & Fresh Cream) for starters. I'm not a mueslif an generally (I actually just dont normally eat "breakfast" foods for breakfast- I tend to just have fruit or nothing). Let me tell you, this Hot Rayanne Baked cereal was one of the best things I have ever eaten. I loved it so much I had it to start my breakfast for the remainder of my stay and would have quite happily eaten it as a main afterwards! Its hard for me to describe the taste, I'm no food critic, but everything from the texture to the flavours was just incredible. I highly recommend you try this if you stay here. I also had the Crock-Baked Irish Ham & Eggs in an Italian Tomato Sauce, Served with Crusty Bread, Boiled Organic Eggs with Parmesan Breadsticks wrapped in Parma Ham, dusted with Sea Salt & Dried Seaweed and the Traditional Ulster Fry. I managed to sample quite a lot as all my wedding guests each tried something from the menu- I was very lucky but the fact that I have quite a lot left to sample makes me want to come back as soon as possible for a longer stay! On to the Winter menu that we had for my Wedding breakfast. Firstly, there was a lot more of it than I was expecting! I was asked to choose 3 appetizers and 3 entrees from the menu, with the desserts left as it for the guests to choose from. The menu advertises a homemade sorbet as a palette cleanser, and coffee and petit fours following dessert. I was only expecting what was advertised, and even worried-with this being a fine dining experience( execting tiny portions) that I would have to order in a pizza later on in the evening if any of my guests were still hungry. The first course served was an appetizer that wasn't on the menu and I didn't know was coming, a spiced tomato and vodka soup. Served in beautiful little espresso cups. I was rather impressed that it was served hot, and not spoiled given that the speeches overran by 15 minutes which means they couldnt start serving at the time I had originally given. It was delicious as well, and the first time all day my guests had been silent.More silence to follow as the starters were served. I went for the Duck confit, and my new husband opted for the Pan Seared Parmesan & Parma Ham Crusted Pheasant Breast- we ate half of our own each and swapped, as both tasted so good we were jealous of each others and wanted to sample as much as we could. I did start out taking photos of the courses- but by the time the entree's came I was too excited to eat what was served and forgot all about photo taking. I'm hoping some of my guests took photos of their plates so I can add them to mine!Next up came the Raspberry and lychee (I think?) Sorbets, which were not just served to the adults- the children all got one too- which again, I wasn't expecting as they weren't advertised on the childrens menus. I'm so pleased they did though as it made the children more included and they all loved it!For the entree I had the Seared King Sea Scallops and my husband had the Beetroot Cured Finnebrouge Venison Filet, Redcurrant & Juniper Demi-Glace. I believe the majority of my guests went for the Venison, and after trying my husbands I understand why. Don't get me wrong, I love Scallops, and the scallops I had at Rayanne house are the BEST I have ever tasted, cooked absolutely perfectly- but that Venison! Wow! Just superb. So tender and full of flavour. It literally melted in the mouth and I could tell everyone agreed by the noises that my guests were making! I guess it was the venison that I could hear Chef Conor pounding on in the kitchen at 12.30am the morning of the wedding!!!Here's where the "more than I expected comes in" Along with the entrees came baby boiled potatos for the table and the best potato dauphinoise I have ever eaten. It made me want to cry. I thought I made pretty excellent dauphinoise until I tried Conor's. That went down well with my Dad as well who always struck me as a plain potato kind of guy, but he had three helpings of the dauphinoise with his entree. Just so unexpected and complimented the courses very very well. Then came dessert- I had the artisan cheese selection which was sublime if you are a cheese lover. So Many different cheeses, even some I had not had before, served with the perfectly matched crackers and biscuits. The only other dessert I sampled- again from my husbands plate- was the chocolate torte which was so rich- it's making my mouth water now typing this!I wish I was a food critic so that I knew all the words to describe just how the food tasted, flavours and textures. But I'm not. All I know is, this was the best food I have ever eaten. I had some picky eaters amongst the guests but there was not a single complaint. Each person attending could not compliment the venue and the quality of the food enough. Even the kids food was imacculately presented which shows just how much care and attention was put into each and every dish. I suppose if I was clever, I'd say the dishes weren't prepared, they were crafted. I really don't know how or why they don't charge more than they do for the winter menu, I still can't work out how they manage to provide the quality they do for such good value.Just beautiful-stunning. I cannot recommend Rayanne House enough. This place should be on every food lovers bucket list.

The Rayanne team deserve every accolade - we were a party of 27 and everyone savoured their meals. My husband and I had stayed overnight previously and loved the accommodation (great rooms, each is unique with nice quirks like how you order breakfast) and the breakfast was second to none. We then gave my parents the gift of an overnight stay including the Titanic meal and they loved Rayanne too. I went here for the first time with a group of 16 people, almost all of which lived in Holywood and only had ever been to Rayanne House over 20 years ago. We had pre-ordered from the Autumn menu which had a good varied selection of 5-6 choices for each course. The food was extremely good and everyone was very satisfied with their food. My starter, which was a swap with another guest was the sauteed whole soft shell crab and flaked Copeland Island Crab and it was very tasty and enjoyable. My duck main course was very much to my liking, though it may have been rayher pink for others. The Chocolate Mint pot dessert was definitely "minty", so no doubts about it. There is a good wine selection and reasonably priced. 2 "amuse bouche" were also served adding to the experience - one was a soup and one a raspberry sorbet - both excellent. The staff were all young and very professional and clearly had been instructed in dealing with customers (unlike other restaurants in Belfast). They can be commended for their skills. Do be prepared for a relaxed evening out - it took well over 3 and 1/2 hours from sitting down to leaving, but it was an excellent experience for all. Highly recommended.

This nine course (yes nine courses) meal is delicious and perfectly proportioned. Rayanne House is the perfect setting for this type of dining experience. The decor reflects that of the Titanic interior with the menu devised from what the first class passengers would have enjoyed on the voyage. The room where the meal is taken has a print by the artist JW Carey that shows the Titanic in Belfast Lough with Rayanne House in the background and with the large windows and elevated position providing views over Belfast Lough you are easily transported back to 1912.When you arrive you are welcomed with drinks and then shown into the main dining room where your first class ticket awaits. You are attended to throughout the meal and each course is presented even better than the last, the Chef (Conor) makes an appearance at the end and gets applause. A fabulous experience in both ambience and fine dining that you will never forget.

Stayed at Rayanne for one night whilst visiting family near by.We didn't spend that look at the guesthouse but it was comfortable and the staff were helpful throughout. Our room was fine, comfortable if compact but with a large bathroom. We didn't have a sea view but the room was quite at night so we slept well. Only gripe was the shower; under powered. But the star of the Rayanne must be the breakfast. We ordered the night before from a very long list of tempting starters and mains. So when we arrived at our table there wasn't long to wait. The Prune soufflé was superb, also good the baked cereal and scrambled eggs. A higher quality marmalade would really seal the deal.A good stay, way better than similar cost in a Premier Inn.

My husband booked Rayanne House for a family meal for my 30th Birthday in April. It was perfect. The food was amazing and the staff were very tentative and polite, they really couldn't do enough for us. There were a lot of children in our group and they were well catered for and looked after. The private dining was just fantastic. I was treated to an overnight stay in a lovely room on the top floor with fantastic views and breakfast the next day was out of this world. We are returning with friends for The Titanic night and we are all looking forward to it

Recently went to Rayanne House for an overnight stay as a birthday treat. Staff were delightful, room was perfect, view was breathtaking and food was exceptional. For dinner, we had the 7-course tasting menu, which was a treat from start to finish - and I thrilled to see bone marrow and veal on the menu. Whilst there were no wine pairings offered with individual courses, the recommendations made by the Maître D complemented the food perfectly. This was followed by a 2-course breakfast the next morning, which can be summed up in one word... WOW!! Not sure how we found the room but we managed to polish off everything put in front of us. Well worth a visit.

If one is fortunate enough to have the opportunity to get a reservation for the Titanic 9-course menu, one should jump at it. I have travelled the world and had many an enjoyable meal but the Titanic meal is the best gourmet experience that I can remember. The quality of the produce, the presentation and most of all the cooking was simply exceptional. The wine list is a bit limited but reasonably priced. Breakfast is another wonderful culinary experience with a very original choice of dishes.

Had a lovely 9 course meal - a duplicate of the Titanic Menu served. Well almost a duplicate. The chef - put two courses together - making it 9 - while the original was 11. The meal and the service did not disappoint. It was truly outstanding. The Chef cooked for us and served as we only had a small group. What a hospitable gentleman. For a first class outstanding meal - 69 pounds per person was worth it. Again you wont be disappointed. If you are looking for any other part of the evening to be replicated - like music or stories of the Titanic - you will not find it here. Wine menu was average to good. Not overly expensive. 20 to 25 pounds can give you a good wine -both red and white. The building - a guest house and the dining room is a real treat.

We were staying for a weekend break and were fortunate that the restaurant was available to us on the Saturday night. They specialise in private dinning and can book up a lot, so plan this in advance if you like the sound of the their dinner menus. We had the Tasting Menu (not the Titanic one, which looked interesting too) and the evening started with a drink in one of the lounges before going to the dinning room. There is a lovely atmosphere about the place which we liked. Everything was smart and classic but not stuffy or too traditional. The staff were charming and attentive, they had the balance just right. They were there when you needed them and were professional and friendly all night. The food was stunning in almost every way. Lots of great flavours that all worked very well together. The beef consomme with truffled mascarpone was a real favourite of mine. Also loved the scallops with orange and coconut jam. My husband was thrilled with the Lamb dish (his favourite meat) and we couldnt praise Conor enough for his quality of jus' and sauces. The food was certainly classic french in style but had great Irish elements too that we both really enjoyed. We both are putting it in our top 10 meals! We have done tasting menus before and found some to be underwhelming and others to be too complex and fussy but Rayanne House seems to have this spot on. All the parts of the dishes were interesting and properly delicious and the night flowed smoothly. For Top Food and Drink in Belfast, look into Rayanne House! Hope to be back again!Annie Yale

We booked the 9 course Titanic Menu for an anniversary meal. Arriving on a cold evening in the snow, we rang the bell of this private hotel but got no answer. After a long wait and knocking on the door again, a hotel resident eventually let us in. Not a good start for a hotel that has won awards for friendliness! Having arrived as asked at 7.30pm for 8.00pm, it was close to 8.30pm before we were ushered through to eat. A late start when there are 9 courses to get through!Overall the food was good but not superlative. I enjoyed the scallop, broth, sorbet and pudding. However the main course of steak was disappointing - we both asked for them to be medium - well done, but they were both well done, rather dry and not that tasty. After the meal we had coffee and petit fours in a rather chilly drawing room. Overall it was a good experience but I was a little disappointed. I am glad to have gone but I won't be rushing back.

My husband and I stayed in this Boutique Hotel last summer and had one of the best experiences in a long time. The ambience, friendliness of the staff, beautifully appointed bedroom and bathroom and a breakfast worthy of a Michelin star was total decadence. The crowning glory was getting a dinner cancellation at the last minute and being able to experience the Titanic nine course dinner. Words fail me when it comes to describing this wonderful meal, each course more delicious than the last. The attention to detail was superb and if the matching of the colour of the superlative rose sorbet to the colour of the roses in the table décor was designed or accidental who cares.....the effect was just perfect. Having dined so magnificently we could only groan when requested to fill out the breakfast menu cards and hang them on our door for the chef's attention. It was next to impossible to think of more food......but we did and the result was magnificent. It was not a cheap weekend but then you get what you pay for and it was worth every penny. A perfect place for a special occasion.

36 friends and family members enjoyed the nine course Titanic Dinner in the restaurant .The attention to detail with the decoration of the tables was emulated by the attention to detail with the menu. We had three vegetarians in our party and although there was probably little allowance made on the Titanic for vegetarians Connor was happy to accommodate us and our guests. The Filet Mignon was perfect - a feat in itself bringing 33 perfect steaks to the tables! The choice on the wine list is excellent and certainly not overpriced. The breakfast menu was a delight in itself - not run of the mill buffet breakfasts as you find in so many places these days but each breakfast prepared individually and freshly. We spent three nights in Rayanne so we were able to try out the different delights. One daughter loved the burger, the other one enjoyed the exquisite fruit platter but their brother and father were happiest with the Ulster Fry which was grilled. It tasted just as good as if it had been fried!

And therefore I loved the service and the quality of the breakfast BUT couldn’t find myself booking a table for Dinner, as the atmosphere wouldn’t be me to dine there, as it isn’t what I call a restaurant – it is a private Dining Room! The “charm”, which made me stay there as a guest, is the reason why I would not “go out” there for Dinner - I hope that this makes sense…as the owners and staff are simply charming and helpful.

Myself and my wife recently had dinner in this fantastic little gem of a restaurant. We attended one of the special Titanic evenings, nine courses of pure delight, each one paried with a glass of wine, madera or port depending on the course. I advise you to go on-line and look at this special menu and pop along to try it out, absolutely delicious. Some of the dishes included Roast Squab, Filet Mignon, Poached Atlantic Salmon and Scallops to name but a few and each wine was a perfect accompliment, I did particularily like the late bottled Sauvingnon Blanc, the Chablis and Port. Service was impecable as you would expect, the service staff were extremely attentive and informative but not intrusive. The Chef (Conor) clearly prides himself in delivering the perfect dish of food, perfectly seasoned and leaving your mouth watering for more!! We recently had an overnight stay in this excellent very comfortable upmarket B&B so that we could visit the restaurant and sample the special Titanic menu which has been created by the first class owner chef Connor McClelland. The menu is created to be very similar to that of the 1st class dining room of the ill-fated ship. You do not have to be a resident to have the menu but note that it is not available every day. There are 9 courses and the highlights for us were the superbly cooked filet mignon with foie gras and truffle with a wonderful reduction sauce , Potatoes Anna, creamed carrots and zucchini farci. The menu was served at a very nice pace and portion sizes were well chosen.Other highlights were the Rose Water and Mint Sorbet ,the poached salmon with mousseline sauce and a nice selection in the cheese board. After this we wondered how we could manage the terrific breakfast but we did after taking a long time the evening before to choose from the wide selection.Ours were a starter followed by scrambled egg with crabmeat and chives, and French crepes with baked bananas laced with maple syrup. No one could be disappointed by a visit to tnis restaurant on an evening when the special menu is being served. Try not to miss it.

We all arrived at 19.30 and were greeted by our host for the evening [ the very beautifull Bernadette] who presented us with drinks of our choice. The meal started at 20.00 and finished at 23.30 It was nine courses of foody heaven , all delivered with a touch of class , that i believe may have dissappeared with the ship some 100 yrs ago.. I could go on about he quality of the food and the service but will not . I went to Rayanne House on Saturday past for the Titanic Menu and it is one of the best evenings I have ever had. There are several courses but don't be alarmed this is not a glutton fest, as a lot of the courses are in tapas style portions. The food was exquisite, I could happily have had the soup all night but each course was a marvel in it's own right with tastes that were like small explosions in your mouth, it was beyond marvelous. The food was complimented by an extensive choice of fine wines varied to suit each dish. There was plenty of time between courses to chat and the ambiance was perfect for a wonderful social occasion. Every detail was thought through with a load of small touches that I'll let you discover for yourself. The staff were wonderfully friendly without being cloying but utterly professional. The group I was with came from a lot of different backgrounds and every person had a brilliant time. It would be wrong to call this a meal, it's an experience and one that will stay with me a very long time. Whether you're local or visiting, I'd thoroughly recommend Rayanne. It has an exceptional reputation and having sampled it I understand why. I for one will be back for more.

However The table hit dish was the venison with red currents & orange I think, or some similar combo. I ordered a fig pud but was too stuffed to go beyond polite bite. Oh, where to start? There are just so many plus points about this outstanding restaurant.I've dined here many times for various occasions, christmas parties, titanic menu nights & the award winning gourmet breakfast. There is no better way to start your day than with this breakfast - with an extensive menu of four courses to choose from, you the reader may feel, "There is no way I could manage that much", but let me tell you, I did not leave a single morsel behind! The flavours are superb & the portions just right. I chose the fresh orange juice, then "compote of warmed spicy breakfast fruits" (spiced with dark rum, brandy, cinamon & cloves), followed by the "traditional irish grilled breakfast", and finally tea with breads and preserves. Staff are so highly trained (right down to sweeping up your every crumb from the tablecloth between courses) making the service as gourmet as the food!I have dined many times in the evening, and just when i thought it couldn't get any better, they produce the highly successful "Titanic Menu" which is undoubtedly the best dining experience I have ever had in my life. Nine top class culinary dishes made with such attention to detail that you're nearly afraid to ruin the unique craftsmanship behind them, but then the mouthwatering aromas just lure you in and every course has you asking "How do you beat that?" Prepared with sheer love, eaten with sheer delight - what a chef!! You simply must try this out at least once (if you're lucky enough to get a reservation) - it is worth every penny & more. Don't expect to do anything else that night as this is the main adventure and will take up most of your evening. Google it & see the menu for yourself or just go & be surprised. Dining here is an experience you will likely never forget & it is no wonder Rayanne House gets so many glowing compliments, top reviews & special awards. From its ideal location with stunning views over Belfast Lough, to it's classic & comfortable interior retaining many period features, there is an immediate, homely warmth felt on entering, suggestive of a family run business. This IS the ultimate dining experience! I am considerably well travelled, and could say i've dined all around the world & back, but i'm so grateful to have this diamond of a restaurant here in my little hometown. Well done Rayanne House! The grass isn't always greener on the other side..............

I had the pleasure of eating in Rayanne House in October to celebrate my birthday with my wife. What can I say? Right from the telephone booking several weeks beforehand until leaving after dinner we were made to feel welcome and taken very good care of. We were greeted on the night by Charles (I think that was his name!) who brought us into the lounge to have a pre dinner drink and look at the wine list. The interior of the house is absolutely gorgeous and we were finding it hard to believe why we have driven past it nearly every day and never called in! The meal itself was amazing right from the very first course (and there are 9 of them!). Each course just got better and better (the squab was a particular favourite) and each beautifully presented. The staff were highly knowledgable about all aspects of the menu and knew exactly where the steak had come from without having to go back to the chef to ask or anything. The meal lasted the whole evening but was very well spread out so 9 courses was very manageable. Finally we managed to speak to Conor, the chef after our meal who made sure we enjoyed everything and told us he'd just finished filming for an australian tv company that day who were interested in the titanic menu!We will definitely be back!

The rosewater and mint sorbet is heaven! The house is lovely too, great setting and I'm only sorry I didn't have the chance to stay in the B&B accommodation too.I know they're running the Titanic menu on quite a few occasions throughout 2012, the centenary of course of Titanic's fateful maiden voyage, so is really special to have the chance to have this menu just down the road from where Titanic was built in Belfast. We even took unplanned time for speeches and the staff were happy to take this on board. The attention to detail of the table settings, decorating, lighting, is fantastic. We traveled from Derry to Rayanne house to try out their famed Titanic Menu which has had stacks of fantastic reviews. A period house set in magnificent grounds with extensive views over Belfast lough the small hotel is both charming and gracious. On arrival we had a warm welcome from staff and were shown to our room which was wonderful and had everything you could wish for, large comfortable bed, spotless bathroom and all the little extra’s you could expect from a top class hotel. The Titanic meal certainly lived up to it’s reputation and everything in the nine courses tasted delicious and was magnificently presented. To be honest we thought we would never manage all the courses but they are so well spaced out we had our first course at 8.00pm finishing with coffee at 11.30pm. It was truly an experience, our boarding passes were at our places and the table was set with a beautiful red lace cloth with period cutlery , there was a little book explaining what the courses were and their relevance to the menu served to first class passengers on the Titanic. The ambience was fantastic with music from the twenties subtly playing in the background. The service was amazing, the staff were extremely attentive , without being obvious and took such pride in what they did.We had a very quiet and restful night and sampled the breakfast menu the next morning. This can only be described as unbelievable, with such a lot to chose from it was very hard to decide what to have. Again service presentation and delicious food were order of the day.The whole experience was wonderful and if you get the chance you simply must experience this pure luxury at least once. The best B&B I’ve ever stayed in, it felt like the Ritz.

My latest visit to RAYANNE HOUSE was my third visit - it certainly won't be my last! I've tried quite a few local restaurants - some very good - but not like Rayanne - everything about Rayanne is special. It stands out. The location is simply beautiful, but what's really nice is that it's very clear the family love the house, it's so well cared for- every last detail has been considered. The owners strike a lovely balance between friendly and professional - that 's quite rare really (and I found it very endearing!). It would be difficult not to warm to them. But the food, ...... well that's the highlight- it's just sensational. The menu is extensive and, I can honestly say, having tried something different on each visit ( the menu does change), nothing disappoints. Really nice touch is that you can get advice on which wine would be best if you're not terribly sure (I know a bit and thought the advice was really good). The best way I can say it is ... If you appreciate good food, then you really will enjoy Rayanne - it is well worth a vist. I couldn't have complained about a thing - I've recommended it to everyone I know and I've already booked my next visit! Enjoy yourself!!

What can I say about this place? It’s hard to find a reason to visit the big city of Bangor and in-fact I used to find reasons not to visit but this Bar has changed all that and I now welcome the pilgrimage up to Costa Del Bangor like many Belfast inhabitants enjoyed before me in the heady summer days of the 60’s. Ginge’s is the perfect infusion of Aladdins Cave and Willy Wonkas chocolate factory and will have you going down a rabbit hole Alice herself would have marvelled at. A place where amazement and wonder are around every corner due to the atmosphere casually swinging from one of being on a special ops mission behind enemy lines with a crack team of Bangor veterans trying to compete a poker hand to one of casually chilling in front of an open fire with live music resembling days gone by whilst having craic and prime ministers questions with clientele you simply wouldn’t come across in your normal everyday life. From Olympians, musicians, tech savvy professionals and Dothraki bloodriders, Ginges has it all under one roof. Add to this an owner bringing in guest chefs to cook up bbq fare fitting of its surroundings and you found a niche in the hospitality sector. Ham hocks, lamb legs, sides of beef and multiple corn snacks are laid down in a feast fitting of a banqueting table of the tudors themselves. A unique experience indeed and one not to be passed up
