Not pretentious. Just good food at good prices. Friendly and cosy. This time I ordered chicken goujons with salad and pepper sauce and for my side I had more salad. Goujons in a tempura batter and a mild creamy pepper sauce with a very nice salad. Price £14.00 Add a creamy Guinness and really nice meal. Highly recommended.

Called in midweek a few weeks ago with my family and so pleased we did. Both the girls working were a real credit to this place with friendliness and quality of service. Food itself was delicious with ample portions and fairly priced. I would defo recommend this place and look forward to returning in future.

Finished a wee garden job and knees and body wrecked with arthritis. Blow it I said I will go in despite working gear. Greeted by main young restaurant manager. Soon sat down and ordered a pint of Guinness to quench my thirst and help energy. I did not know they had a special two course deal at £14.00. Yippee. I got the chicken wings with a nice garlic dip and side salad garnish and asked for bbq sauce which was spicy and sweet. Really nice starter. For main I ordered 6oz beefburger with side of onion rings. The burger hadn't shrunk and with cheese and bacon was delish. It had pepper sauce dip with it. The onion rings were just right. Mmmmh! An Irish coffee with famous grouse was the ultimate finish with a biscoff biscuit. Staff again excellent. Table full of noisy ladies didn't affect the experience. Definitely recommended. 5 stars.

I was really skeptical because this was the only restaurant open on Sunday and not many people were around. But this restaurant was hands down AMAZING. Everything we ordered was amazing, especially the appetizers. The fish and chips were amazing and perfectly crispy. The service was amazing and the staff are very kind and understanding especially to tourists. I would definitely recommend 10/10.

First time we've been to The Snug in quite a few years. Excellent food and service last Thursday. Sorry didn't get the waiter's name, the young lad couldn't have been any more helpful. I would recommend this spot for good food at a good price. We will most certainly be back

Been pre covid last time I was here and had forgotten the place. On my own Sunday night when I dropped in for dinner about 7.45pm. One male waiter was very busy. After a wait I got the menu, ordered an excellent pint of Guinness. Then ordered my roast lamb dinner for mains. It came on a bed of mash with two toasties about four slices of lamb and some veg. Beefy gravy was nice. Could have had bit more veg. Mint sauce seemed like out of a jar and lacked sugar and vinegar. But overall dinner was fab. I ordered sticky toffee pudding which came with a scoop of ice cream and was a huge piece of pudding garnished with strawberry and blue berries. I ordered an Irish coffee asking sugar to be added first. The waiter said he would make it and offered different whiskeys. I said whatever. It came hot, dark strength, sweet and creamy. Just fab again. Dinner cost £14.00, Guinness £4.20, desert and Irish coffee a fiver each. Reasonable prices. Highly recommended for good simple grub on a friendly clean atmosphere. Well done to waiter and staff.

Down to earth bistro serving good tasty food. This is a lovely little place that is not trying to be posh or fancy. Great food, reasonably priced and very tasty. There only appeared to be two members of staff looking after the restaurant but they were swift, efficient and very friendly. Experienced waiting staff is important to a successful dining experience. Will definitely return.

First time we've been the the old tavern. The restaurant is comfortable with a relaxed atmosphere. The staff were very helpful with questions about the menu. I ordered garlic & chilli chicken with dauphinoise potatoes, in my case without cheese. It was delicious, it came with a lovely sauce, carrots & broccoli. I enjoyed every mouthful. I would recommend the old tavern unreservedly & will certainly visit again if I'm in Banbridge.

Die Erwartungen waren hoch bei 5 Sternen. Die live Musik war das beste. Das Essen war eher durchschnittlich. Der Service war freundlich aber leider unaufmerksam.

My husband and I had lunch here today and were very impressed. Very traditional old fashioned pub bistro but that's not a negative, great atmosphere with lots of local folk watching sport and having a laugh. I had salted chilli chicken which came with a warm salad and my husband had chicken stuffing and coleslaw sarnie which came with a side salad. Everything was so fresh and tasty and we enjoyed every bite. Prices average and worth every penny

Good location, nice ambience, decent staff that wants to be helpful, but lacking in knowledge about food. Obviously they use decent ingredients, but lack of skills or poor execution lets them down. I didn't ask for ice in my drink, I got ice. I didn't ask for sugar in my coffee, it was sweet. The menu said "poached egg", but egg was definitely not poached and hollandaise did not have a texture or taste of the hollandaise sauce. To top it off it came to nearly £25 for a brunch, one dish and two drinks, if the quality was good I wouldn't even mention price. However when you pay that sort of money for something that you didn't entirely enjoy, it feels like a rip off. Plenty of awards on walls, but when I asked a simple question about one of ingredients, they couldn't even tell me where it comes from, makes you wonder if they have any awareness if the products they are using.

Wow, what an exceptional place for dinner. Delicious food, amazing friendly service and a comfortable warm and tastefully decorated setting. All of the staff we interacted with were lovely but in particular Katie was fantastic. Great service blended with Irish charm and wit. The food was freshly cooked, served in a timely manner and mouthwatering. This place is a must stop for anyone visiting Camlough or the surrounding areas.

Real country cafe, huge portions, pretty sure the lady taking our order was also making coffee and cooking so good on her for doing everything at once!

Having failed to eat in another quite well known establishment just down the road (far too long a wait) this place was a very welcome pit stop for my family. There was a very friendly lady from Preston serving us, a delicious curry slice (!) and other light lunch food. Nothing sophisticated but very welcome nonetheless! Recommended.
