Thanks for the ruined friday night!!!! 2.5hrs waiting for the order to arrive, until it finally got cancelled. Another hour spent dealing with Uber Eats, trying to get our money back..... wish we read the reviews before ordering, seems like it happens often and people had food poisoning before, probably best it was cancelled..never again... owners clearly dont know how to run a business.... shocking...
So wanted to like this place more but have to say the main courses let the place down. Staff so friendly , pickles and starters excellent but mains took an hour to come after rapid fire starters. Lost interest and mains were lacking depth. In a cluttered market Ashoka can do better.
Great spot for Thai food lovers. Foods cooked very fast and delicious, and the service was just as impressive. Warm atmosphere and reasonable prices. Will be returning for sure.
First time coming here after hearing good things, and me and my family loved it. The restaurant's decor was beautiful — felt like stepping into the 70s or 80s. The staff were polite and helpful throughout. I ordered a full 16-inch pizza, half ham and mushroom, the other half vegetarian, along with 4 slices of garlic bread and chips. The only downside was the chips — a bit dry and lacking flavour. Also, it’d be better if they had actual bottles of Heinz ketchup on the tables, instead of having to buy the little packets that aren’t Heinz and don’t taste great. Other than that, I’d definitely recommend it.
Yes, you can't book but this place is worth a punt on a spare table. Pretty good range of on tap drinks but - on our visits - the Belgian stew on special was really top notch. We also had the breakfast sausage and bacon rolls which were lovely. The decor is really unique including a stuffed dog in the fireplace !
