Love the size and intimacy that is The Garrison. Mine and my adult sons meals were lovely. My husband had the fish pie, which he said was okay, but the sauce had split, which was a little disappointing. The starters and desserts were gorgeous. We will be back again soon. We would definitely recommend a visit, but make sure you book early.

Ordered 1 cheese pizza stuffed crust actually tasted like real cheese and not that plastic crap other takeaways use. and 1 meat feast pizza via uber eats for first time, food took about a hour to arrive but well worth the wait very tasty pizzas, also ordered a chicken wrap which my partner said was delicious and nice freshly cooked chicked delivery driver was friendly. Will be ordering again! Also they are fairly cheap compared to others around my area š Think I have found my new favourite takeaway š

Over a month I visit several Greene King publs for lunch with differing members of my family (Sir Jacks, Brentwood, Story Teller, Marquis etc) - all of which are good - on food, quality & price, atmosphere - staff, professionalism, attitude, helpfulness etc. But todays visit to Sir Jacks with my wife, son, daughter in law and 2 grand children - really was - the best experience in at least 12m. Sophie really did shine - from the initial welcoming smile, locating our booking, showing us to our table, then getting my drink at the bar, saying instead of waiting for my wifes coffee, she would bring it over. All the while being personable, professional, with a relaxed cheerful casual conversation. (gave the impression - she went the extra mile) The chef on the carvery counter was even more cheery than usual, with a genuine "pleased to see us" smile & welcome. - Food done to perfection. We all had different dishes and everyone well satisfied, with even the 3 & 7yr old saying how much they enjoyed it too. Ian the team leader rounded things off - just as we stood up and put our coats on by asking - if everything had been OK and if we had enjoyed it, - in a genuine way (not just in an - its on the checklist manner - which is common in many places). Please pass on our appreciation to the team this afternoon (sat 22 Feb), we had a lovely few hours. All definitely a credit - to the Manager & The Greene King Brand. Graham & Family

The food was nice. We asked the waitress for a jug of water for the table (as well as having bought other drinks - beers and a coke). She seemed to forget to bring the jug of water and brought us a mini bottle of water for my dad which we accepted as we could see she was very busy.....however we still wanted a jug of water for the table to share. On the third time of asking she explained they do not provide tap water, only bottles to purchase. We ate our meal and on paying the bill we explained the food was great but were they aware it is a legal requirement to provide free tap water in an establishment that serves alcohol? The waitress immediately went to get her manager who came over to address the issue. We were told they could not serve tap water as the water is 'smelly' and that he has reported it to the appropriate people but nothing has been done. We were a little concerned as presumably the food and hands are washed in this same water. Hopefully this problem can be rectified soon as free water, whilst having paid for starters, mains and drinks for four, doesn't seem much to ask.

The cakes here are excellent and the selection is constantly changing so thereās always something new to try. We try to visit at least once a week and weāve yet to be disappointed. Highly recommend. Also great for breakfasts
