Food nice but missed rice on 2 meals and salads didn’t listen to what we wanted on our meals if you go don’t go to dark haired girl

I always get the number 22 here the chicken sheesh and it’s really really nice and consistent every-time. The bulgar wheat is lovely, I’ve tried a few times to cook this at home and it’s not been working out yet, the staff are friendly and humorous. I’ve eaten in several times too and I’ve never had a dirty plate or bad service so I don’t agree with the negative reviews, personally I find this one of the better restaurants in Rotherham it’s decent quality and tastes good

Such a fantastic, authentic Turkish restaurant - The food is so tasty, I could close my eyes and randomly pick a dish and know it'd be good.

I tell you friends, don't spend money in this restaurant where there is nothing as it looks from the outside, I was here today with my friends where I only tasted the wine and nothing else, the geill mix came only with chicken, goose and rice, nothing else and on top of that all the plates he brought us to take food were not washed and I returned the plate because it was not washed and we paid a considerable amount for this where nothing but white wine I enjoyed it with my friends

Really disappointed tonight. The food was nowhere near the standard we've had before and the staff and service was diabolical. Waiting 25 minutes for drinks and they came after the starters. Felt ignored and mumbled at.

What a great night. Food was lovely, staff were great and great value for money. to say there was 10 of us food came all together and hot which is rare these days.

Superb mixed grill. Everything was cooked perfectly and tasted sublime. Highly recommended. Great value.

First off the food was fantastic, never had Turkish before but members of our party had and said it was the best they had ever had. So props on that front. Unfortunately the rest of experience was lacking. With regard to atmosphere, the small area was packed and noisy, which wasn't helped by the music being too loud making conversation difficult. As for service we had to remind the staff to take our food and drinks orders. If you're going for the food then you'll have a good time, if you're going for conversation/ good service I wouldn't recommend.

Proper good Turkish restaurant for locals and I would tell me mates to come in if they ain’t already tried it. The fella behind bar was great and he always makes us laugh so that is really good attitude love it

Absolutely fantastic restaurant. The food was superb and the service was spot on. It didn't take long for the food to arrive and we could see it cooking on the grill. Will definitely be back! Thank you Elif!

The portions sizes are very generous, the meat was fantastic and the staff were brilliant. What a fantastic little gem of a restaurant. I can't wait to return.

Dont get me wrong has a Turkish restaurant the food was lovely the service great but £20 for a lamb shish and £6 for half a Efes and lemonade and £6.75 for a small glass of red wine. All in all expensive but nice.

Ok food nothing special & quite expensive, but reason why this got 1 star was the abruptness of the Maitre D, Not exactly friendly and was rude.

Menu limited.. the food which was pretty much the only one that I could pick was ok .. sorry but won't be going back

Food was good, I've had better but good. However, this place is supposed to close at 11pm, we were there for 7.30. This was after I'd initially phoned to book a table for 8.30 and was told 7.30 instead. Place was virtually empty don't know why I couldn't have my requested time. By 8.30, and we'd literally just swallowed our last bite they were pressuring us to leave. By that I mean the staff were stood at the counter glaring at us and they fetched us the bill (without asking for it) we wanted a desert or at least a coffee. Decent service at 1st (points off for music so loud we could barely have a conversation, maybe part of the early exit strategy?) Then it went swiftly downhill an hour later.

Good service. But very expensive for what you get. The main course is what you are normally get for starter on normal Turkish restaurants .

Busy place, Owner is front of house so makes the difference when serving you & thanking you for your custom. Top notch food. 5 Stars 🌟 from me!

food ok, meat portions very small for the price, if you want a quality Turkish restaurant try doncaster, real home made bread and far superior food unlike elif, and the customer service from manager/owner was terrible and rude, (cant fault the waitress tho👍)ladies toilet had no lights only two dim candles & not very clean never again!

Paid 17pounds for a meal and all i got was 1 piece of kebab 4 piece chicken and filled with couscous absolutely waste of money

Food was very good, all meat was tender and and cooked on coals in an open kitchen. Staff were very friendly and engaging. The restaurant is VERY small and the tables so close together is almost claustrophobic. Every table (44 people) was taken by the time we were halfway through the main course and it got very noisy.. like too noisy to have a conversation without raising your voice. Not the place for a romantic meal! We paid £123 for 3 starters, 4 mains, 2 lagers and 5 soft drinks.

We didn't book, the 3 of us just walked in at about 8:30 on a Thursday evening and we got a table no problem. Friendly service. I ordered the mixed grill at £20 which is lamb skewer, chicken skewer & Adana with rice & salad - salad dressing very tasty and all meat was well seasoned and flavoursome. £5.50 for a bottle of EFES was very expensive though?

Saturday evening 23rd April, my son and I enjoyed our 1st visit to This restaurant, the food was exceptional, the atmosphere was good and the staff were more than friendly and attentive, would definitely recommend this restaurant and we’ll definitely return again

Prefer elif 2 due to the space and couple options I like that elif 2 have on menu and elif doesn't but worth the same rating, foods good.

Service was friendly and polite. The food was tasty enough but not great portions for the price. We had three courses and they were sent out quickly not really giving us much of a rest between each. The wine was nice enough.

Food was lovely. For that I would give 5☆. The service left a lot to be desired. We felt rushed from the moment we arrived, and there was only 5 tables in. The waiter was abrupt and even rude at times. I've visited Elif several times over it's different ownerships. This is by far the least friendly.

Rubbish experience. Went on valentines day. It wasn't even busy. They proper rushed us and even brought the main course before we had finished the starter! Staff were rude and the food wasn't anything to write home about either. Over priced for what it is and the experience I had

Excellent food, excellent service

The food was nice (but bbq chicken is very simple) however they was not enough of it at all. One of the dishes was wrong! The music was WAY to loud and its way to expensive. We paid £100 for four mains and the plates was kinda empty! one and a half of chicken breasts (for two people) and about 400g of cooked lamb (that's not alot) . Not to mention that the starter was burnt. This is a place for people who have no or poor culinary skills basically people who think McDonalds is good dining. We will not be going here again. All in all. It's to expensive for the amount of food given with a negative feeling for ambience. And for the cost off cooking it adds up to about £3.45 each meal that was cooked but yet they charge £17 for basically a small or half a chicken breast (£1) and 200kg of lamb (£2) salad is cheap and the rice is cheap. No fault to the chefs this is a managerial problem to do with cost and customer services.

Had a fantastic meal tonight, thank you so much Muslum and Sakine for such wonderful generosity and hospitality, we loved Elif, the food was delicious, and Ismet was charming, high;y recommended !!!

Fantastic food and service. Really amazing knowledge on gluten free. Theres only salad on the menu as gf but i was able to order off the main menu and still be safe. The food was so good. 1st time for us but wont be the last. Thanku for a lovely meal xxx

Quick note as just got home following an evening with yourselves. After a little bit of a mix up with the booking, apologies on my behalf as I took the reservation email I received as confirmation - my mistake and will remember for next time. Really do appreciate that you managed to accommodate us and created a welcoming atmosphere - given the weather was excellent the seating outside was perfect. Apologies as I didn't manage to get the young waiters name but i'd really appreciate it if you could pass on my thanks, his attentiveness and friendliness cannot be praised enough. The good was excellent and being a regular traveller to Turkey over recent years, this took us back to some of our most memorable evenings sat overlooking Kalkan harbour as the sun went down. I've also left a 5* review on trip advisor as very much deserved. We'll certainly be booking to come again (will remember to wait for the proper confirmation next time) but will likely also try out the takeaway options at some point soon as well. Many thanks and praise all round to all at the Elif.

Delicious flavours - very fresh.....we’ve only used Elif as a restaurant so delighted that the food is just as good as a take away option Only criticism is that our feta fries where cold but it is -1 outside!!! Just warmed them in our oven and they were lovely

Wonderful atmosphere and great food. Ordered there takeaway service a few times also and always been nice and plentiful!

Good quality fresh ingredients expertly prepared and cooked with a friendly and welcoming service. I've only used the takeaway option from Elif so far, thanks to the Covid-19 restrictions, but I was pleasantly surprised and look forward to visiting the restaurant when we get back to some form of normality. Hopefully sooner rather than later!
