Have eaten here three times now - and believe this is the best food in Wickersley - and there is plenty of competition Just wish they open Sundays for lunch; it would be amazing.

I've been a few times now on a Friday evening with my parents, as it's one of their favourite restaurants. I can honestly say that everything on the menu is lovely, and you can't go wrong with whatever you order. I've tried a few of their wines too and haven't had a bad one. It's pricey on a weekend (the midweek deal is much better value) - but worth it.

Came here Saturday night for the tasting menu to celebrate their 3rd birthday. What can I say except absolutely outstanding. Best and most reasonably priced restaurant in the area by far. The staff were exceptional and kept us entertained. Cannot recommended enough. Thank you again x

We were really looking forward to eating here for the first time, and were so disappointed. We ordered one of the specials; pan seared Turbot filet with buttered chard, celeriac and truffle purée + potato terrine. £23 As someone who’s worked with food, a normal portion of fish should be at least 125g, preferably closer to 180g. This was maybe 25g of actual fish + a rubbery piece of skin. Embarrassing. See photo. The potato terrine was ok but flavourless and not cooked enough. The purée was the only nice thing about this dish. The portion size was very small and could almost have fit in my hand. To charge £23 for a main course special like this is shocking. I don’t enjoy complaining like this but this was incredibly disappointing.

6 of us dined here as a late birthday celebration. It was recommended and did not disappoint in any way. Staff were brilliant, showing good humour and clearly love their job. Food was outstanding with a great atmosphere all night. Quite a small venue so booking advised. Will definitely return....now becomes our favourite place in Wickersley.

What an amazing little gem of a restaurant. Book this because it had such great reviews for a family get together last evening. We weren't disappointed. A friendly and attentive member of staff greeted us at the door and showed us to our table. The menu is not extensive, but caters for all tastes and turned out to be very tasty and wholesome. With descriptions from the staff, but with own preferences in mind, we opted for the two courses, with the proviso we could change our minds and add the third later. Which, of course we did after sampling and thoroughly enjoying the starters and mains. We are a family of 'foodies' and the chef here certainly knows how to please. Everything was perfectly cooked, very tasty, well presented, actually, delicious. We were suitably impressed and will return whenever we can. Well worth the two hour drive to get here. My advice; if you haven't experienced it, get on the phone and make a booking. Their weekend menu looked fantastic too. Go on, give yourselves a treat.

This was my first visit here,as it was recommended by my wife after a previous visit, what an amazing 3 courses we had all for £30 each including a drink. My taste buds were dancing with delight. The front of house guys made us feel so welcome and were attentive.

Josh on front of house is fun and knowledgeable about the food / drinks etc. Makes great cocktails. Other waiting on staff were attentive and friendly. Elliot the chef created fabulous food, beautifully presented and served.Nothing to fault there. The venue is cosy and well presented, but when all tables are full it does get very hot and stuffy and very loud - not sure what can be done to change this but unfortunately it does detract a little from what could realy be a fine dining experience. A lovely evening. Great food at reasonable (but dont think cheap) prices. Will definitely be back. Our first visit. Had a lovely evening here at the end of October. Food was absoultely delicious and the service excellent. Pricing was spot on and Joshua and Sam (I think) were super friendly and fun hosts. First time this evening at The Garrison. Had a lovely meal, witn great service and good quality food. It is small and quaint, no loud music with a pleasant atmosphere, which is perfect for hearing aid users. The cocktail menu could have been a little more robust , that's a personal choice only. Food and service top notch can't fault the place at all. Despite only being one of two tables in there we were not rushed at all. Starters and mains were so good as was the wine, finished off with a couple of amazing espresso martini's. Top marks to front of house guys, brilliant service would not be the same without these two. Excellent food and service. An interesting menu with dishes a bit different to the norm,but very well executed. I have been here twice now, and will definitely continue visiting, especially as they introduce new dishes every few months, which is interesting to try. 🙂 Definitely one of the best restaurants in Rotherham and the South Yorkshire area generally.

We ate here last night and it was the best meal out we've ever had. Hats off to their chef!! All 3 courses were outstanding, the service fantastic (thank you Joss and his colleague) and the cocktails again were the best we've ever had. This restaurant has recently won best in South Yorkshire and it's very easy to see why. I would 100% recommend anyone and everyone to visit this place.

It’s rare you find a restaurant with some genuinely unique menu items. The Garrison’s sharing platters offer some excellent items. Visited on a quiet lunchtime so the place was very quiet. Excellent, friendly, attentive service from our server. Food was delicious. Would definitely visit again.

Enough has been said here about the food which is very good, unusual in its own way presented well We have visited this place a few times and are never dissapointed however our last visit was disturbed by some ignorant customers who seem to enjoy...

First time visit and had mixed feelings. I had the pasta special and was told it was made fresh every day. It came with the tagliatelle hard and stuck together, could only eat the pork and beef sauce. Waiter stated the chef promised to make it better next time we visit, which really didn’t cut it for me. We were pushed twice to vote for them in an upcoming award they had got through to and noticed they did it with every table. From my experience, a restaurant should talk with their food to gain awards and not through pushy advertising. On the plus side, my wife had the chicken supreme and it was fresh and full of flavour. I like to give true feedback and would visit again.

Had a birthday meal here with my partner. Beautiful homemade pasta starter and then the Lamb Burger. All very nice! My only negative is that the music was quite loud and the place had a 'hustle bustle' feel to it...so not the quiet relaxing meal...
