Missed out on first visit as closed, so made a detour to try the fruit cake and cheese. It was delicious along with very good scones, cream and jam. Generous pots of tea too. Great after a walk in the Dales

Visited for a late breakfast when staying in Richmond. The service was outstanding as was the quality of the food and the Covid measures were spot on. Our breakfast was one of the nicest cooked breakfasts we’ve had in a long time. There’s a little shop on site which has some lovely trinkets and a garden/plant sale too - 3 attractions in one!

Lovely little pub, with great food, and friendly staff. Dropped in for a late lunch while visiting Middleham and Richmond castles. 2 of us had pies which were amazing and I had a vegan burger which was delicious. All freshly cooked, great value for money. Good selection of ales, including no/low alcohol, and they do coffee in a little french press for one 😍 Staff were lovely and friendly. Highly recommend paying it a visit.

Excellent pub in the Yorkshire Dales. Small, cosy and warm. I tried the Cumberland sausage, which is a favourite of mine - it never fails to disappoint. The landlord, Glyn, is always welcoming and keen to serve his customers. He always remembers my name despite us only visiting a few times a year. If you're in the Dales visiting The King's Head is a 'must' IMHO

We were disappointed back in the summer when this wonderful pub was closed so we were delighted to read that it had re opened as a community pub, I must say they have done a fantastic job, we called in for Sunday Lunch after a decent circular hike down to Gunnerside. We were both made to feel very welcome as was our Dog. Drinks were good and the Sunday Lunch was absolutely delicious, everything was cooked to perfection and the service was very efficient and friendly. Don’t usually do puddings but glad we did, again the puds were delicious. If you are in Muker or passing through please call in and support this great pub you will be made very welcome. The Ladies that looked after us were great and you could tell we mattered to them as customers.

We’ve had Sunday lunch here a few times and it never disappoints. Today was the best ever -, beautiful roast lamb with lots of excellent veg and crispy Yorkshire puddings. I had the Yorkshire apple cake after and it was delicious and obviously home made. My husband had the plum and apple crumble which he said was equally good. You could easily pay twice the price at a fancy restaurant and it wouldn’t be a as good I recommend booking as it’s deservedly popular

We were the only people staying in the Kearton, and we were renting the 2 bed apartment. The owners could not have been anymore helpful. Didnt sample any food, but have visited many times and have always found it lovely

This is a popular spot, not hard to see why. Great food and beer. I think I'd enjoy getting snowed in up here!

Visited on Boxing Day and had a perfect lunch - hot sandwiches and chips, all cooked perfectly. Friendly staff, very welcoming to our fairly wet dog. Would highly recommend and we will be back

The location is simply fabulous. At the top of Swaledale with views all around. Set up for walkers - so friendly, helpful and knowledgeable about the area. Mixing with fellow walkers meant a very sociable stay. Room was good size and comfortable. Restaurant bar and lounge were of high quality and brought a high enjoyable stay. Matt and Dave are great hosts. Thoroughly recommended.

Lovely overnight stay at the Kearton. Adam and Caz are the new owners and made us both feel very welcome. Comfy bed and bedroom with all the amenities you need, along with the peace and quiet of Thwaite meant we slept like babies! Woke refreshed and ready for our fabulous English breakfast. We will definitely be back and are sure Adam and Caz will make The Kearton a huge success!
