The best restaurants in Middleham Richmondshire Yorkshire and The Humber

We have had food from Andersons 3 times, the food has been excellent everytime. Last time I had a vegan pizza - best pizza I've had in a long time.

Broke up a 12mile hike with a roast dinner and a bottle of red. We sat in the bar area as we had the dogs with us which was very nice and perhaps a little more relaxed and quiet from the main restaurant area. The roast beef was excellent, one of the best roast dinners I’ve ever had eating out! as was the dessert (Chocolate sticky toffee pudding). We will be back!

A very quiet pub when we went in, real ales were great and kept well. I did find out this pub is up for sale so maybe that is why the atmosphere was a bit lacklustre.

Top notch haddock and chips. Perfectly cooked to order. The best I've had in a long time!!

The owner of The Priory where we stayed in Middleham had heard positive reviews about the food at Dante Arms, so we went there for dinner one evening. Dante Arms came under new ownership about a month ago, and from the caliber of food and service we enjoyed, they will be in business for some time. My husband had the Wensleydale Beef and Ale (tender beef in gravy topped with a teetering puffed pastry). Having toured the Wensleydale Creamery the day before I was delighted to see Blue Wensleydale Pasta on the menu and had it. Light tangy cream sauce with fresh bell peppers over perfectly cooked pasta - what's not to love. And save room for dessert. We shared an order of cheese cake. That day's flavor was chocolate and I can't say when I've had better. The crust was crisp, the filling rich but light in texture and the fresh, tart raspberry drizzle was a perfect topper. Very dated decor, real ales were great, some good service but some staff need some training the food was great.

In all my many many years in North Yorkshire & only living in the next village on, I'm embarrassed to say we had never been here before. However, after today's visit, we are definite fans! Lovely ambience, lovely staff & owner. Sunday lunch was delish. An easy choice to make when booking our next Sunday lunch time treat. Really impressed. Thank you.

Absolutely delicious food- each and every dish of our 3-4 course lunch and the crème brûlée has been done to exceptional perfection worthy of Richard the third and the other villains and heroes. Just unbelievably and unexpectedly fabulous. Keep up the great work madams.
