Situated in the middle of Middleham strangelyt enough near the pubs and shop. Had fish and chips, Haddock because they only serve one kind of fish however all was good. No inside seating available but there are a couple of tables outside.

Beautiful homemade battered fish, chips mushy peas, large portions. Excellent service by the Owner very busy, Sat outside stunning Village. Will return Thank you Donna & Jonathan ( hog n cracklin).

Really friendly and helpful staff, ordered our fish and chips for our final night after staying in middleham. The food was delicious and so fresh. They even rang us to let us know when our order was ready. Thank you so much!! 👍👍

Called in for the first time yesterday, the gentleman on taking orders, frying and serving was very friendly and organised. Couldn’t fault the food in any way! They even give you free ketchup out of a bottle!

Large cod and chips £9 amazing! Crispy batter loads of chips , would be £15 from the dingy fish and chip shop I have to go to in London ! Why? Wish I lived here all the time 😟

Pretty decent standard, quite pricey and small menu, a couple of items not available on our visit. Rang in advance to help get large order prepped and they had it all ready bang on time for collection

We just called and had Friday night fish and chips and it was fantastic. Friendly staff and fast service, the food was delicious and piping hot. The fish is battered light and beautifully and the chips were crisp and golden ... Truly delicious meal. Our best "chippy tea" in a long time. Thoroughly enjoyed and recommended. 5 stars.

For the second time this year we had fish & chips from Middleham fish bar, this time we’re staying at Finghall but knew it would be worth the drive, we wasn’t disappointed both the fish And Chips was beautiful also good portion size’s Many thanks John and Wendy

The service in this fish and chip shop was absolutely terrible. The lady serving my wife was snappy, rude and impatient. She even told my wife to shut my kids up as they were ‘disturbing her customers’, my kids are 1 and 3 years old. It’s not her place to do that. I wish I could say the fish and chips were good to balance this out, but they were sub-par at best.

Rude and abrupt lady behind the counter made me feel utterly awful. I’d never return.

Fish floating in grease looks like its been double fried black underneath. £8.00 for fish curry and a bread bun. Ended up in the bin worse fish and chips ive ever had. Not sure the rats on the landfill will even eat it.

Had food from here a number of times over the past couple of years, started off well but has gradually gone downhill in quality while shooting up in price and after today felt compelled to review. Had one of the lunchtime "specials" consisting of chips, 3 chicken pieces, curry sauce and a drink for £5. Chips were anemic and a very very small portion and the 3 pieces of chicken were smaller than ping pong balls all in all very poor value for money not even enough to qualify as a child's portion. My friend had the same and another had a fish that looked as if it had been double fried making it very dry inside yet literally swimming in grease. Not impressed at all and won't be back

When I visit my mum, we sometimes get food from here. The fish has always been really tasty and they always use good sizes. The chips are quite nice as well. On top of that, some of the standout things about this place, are the people that work there, they are very friendly and always willing to talk about whatever you bring up. The waiting section is quite small inside, however they have benches outside situated in an idyllic setting, so, they've got you covered whilst you wait. I recommend you eat from here if you want Fish and Chips 👌.

Great fish and chips, and a huge helping! Gary was friendly, and gave us information about the area, and the best places to drive to eat our takeaway! Would certainly visit again when in the area.

Owner rude!! Arrived at 7pm was greeted at the door by a very rude man who just said " no fish closed" and slammed the door. Avoid never give people like that money! No customer service skills

Tried this as so many people had posted good reviews. How disappointing chips very dry and old also the fish and batter a massive let down. Will not be going here again.

Always freshly cooked, this is one of the best fish & chip shops I have visited. The owner always seems to find a minute to talk to his customers too.

Friday 4th December opening hours on the door says open untill 8pm.They were closed at 7.30! What shower won't bother again went to Leyburn instead who were open untill 8.opm

Very friendly bloke runs this place, proper Yorkshire welcome unlike other places in town. Chips are decent and prices reasonable. Next to Richard 3rd pub.

While on holiday in Middleham this chippy was supposed to be open Sat night. We went to get some fish and chips around 7.00 p.m. It had been open earlier at tea time but the owner had just closed early with no earlier note on his shop front to say he was closing early that particular day. He said he was going to a funeral!
