We stayed in a budget room with free breakfast. Fantastic value for money! The owners and staff are all very friendly and helpful. Our room was lovely, the main part of the room has pleasant décor. Yes the bathroom is dated, but that is reflected in the budget description and price point. That being said it was all fully functioning and spotlessly clean. The whole room was very clean. Crisp white bedding. Mattress was comfy and just as important we had two lovely fluffy pillows each. This place really is a cosy, comfy home from home. The team work tirelessly to create a welcoming, homely atmosphere which was much appreciated. The breakfast was lovely. Piping hot food of excellent quality. Even though we have checked out we will be going back shortly for the famous carvery! Well done guys, keep doing what you’re doing!

Excellent food... our party of 4 had Steak with peppercorn Sauce & Fish & Chips ... just so tasty. Well presented, staff so friendly & helpful. Gorgeous setting, dining room was super relaxing & comfy. We will most definitely make this a regular place to eat out.

A little disappointed really, service was really good, but the food average - ordered the chicken kebab which was just okay, not brilliant. But the most disappointing aspect was ordering our dessert, but as we were after 9pm the kitchen had closed. We were late diners, arrived at 8.15 but when we ordered our main we mention we would like a dessert so when we were faced ordering and told, sorry the kitchen is now closed, we were left very disappointed indeed - not good really as the staff should have really come to us, but didn't. Ho hum - we dined out the second evening, great meal locally, far superior food and service.

We had vouchers for steak and wine here, so booked for 2 couples. It was well-represented, relaxed and informal and we were very well looked after by Lucas. His bubbly, enthusiastic manner was welcoming without being overbearing. The whole evening was beautifully paced and thoroughly enjoyable. We all opted for steak with peppercorn sauce and a mixture of sides. All perfectly cooked and presented. Recommendations for pudding were accepted and the quality was excellent. It didn't matter one bit about the slight lack of atmosphere. We will be back!

Went to this lovely little pub on Friday night for a couple of pints the staff were lovely the atmosphere was fun apart from one old cantankerous man who thought he new all the answers to the chase and was getting very upset with himself because he didn't know any of the questions apart from that lovely

I recently had the pleasure of dining at The Black Bull in East Holton, and I can't recommend it enough! From the moment we walked in, the staff were incredibly welcoming and friendly, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere. The pub itself is charming, and I especially appreciated the dedicated restaurant area. It was quiet and peaceful, providing the perfect setting for a relaxing meal. The Christmas decorations added a lovely festive touch, making the experience even more special. Now, let's talk about the food – absolutely incredible! Every dish was freshly prepared with obvious care and attention to detail. The flavors were fantastic, and the quality of the ingredients was top-notch. It's clear that The Black Bull takes pride in serving delicious, home-cooked food. Overall, I had a wonderful experience at The Black Bull. The friendly staff, cozy atmosphere, and outstanding food make it a must-visit. Whether you're looking for a festive meal or simply a delicious dinner in a welcoming pub, The Black Bull is an excellent choice.

Been here before a while ago and food was always good. Recently visited not such a good experience. Had the Pate for starter at £8.95 was very overpriced the toast was basically a thin slice of white bread from a regular loaf barely toasted, pickle obviously shop bought and the pate was obviously bought in not home made very disappointing, I have had better from Aldi. Had the chicken in leek sauce with chips for main, dry chicken breast and the sauce was very thin and could barely see a leek. On a positive the gentleman who served us was very polite and pleasant Sat in the conservatory which was ridiculously loud, it was so loud I couldn't have a conversation with my husband sat opposite because we couldn't hear each other. Also visited a couple of weeks ago to have a catch up with a friend, the lady behind the bar was extremely abrupt and rude to my friend. The place was almost empty and whilst waiting for me he put his belongings on a table just in the doorway of the restaurant area which was empty as it was 4pm. She rudely asked if we had booked at table and when we said no abruptly asked him to remove them and sit somewhere else, with an extremely sour look on her face. I will definitely not be returning again.
