The pub itself is fine. It has a no swearing and no mobile phones policy - fine. The food however - omg it was the worse I’ve had anywhere! Small portions which was actually a blessing as it was so bad. Hunters chicken which is usually a chicken breast smothered in bacon cheese and sauce was little processed meat cubes in a dish mixed with breadcrumbs and flashed under a grill however it was still like sawdust. Side salad on another meal was old wet leaves out of a salad bag that must have been out of date and going mushy. Another customer said hunters chicken was revolting but when we tried to change the order it was refused. Steak pies came out black on top which had been disguised by laying chips over it! When we asked for a dessert menu we were told they had stopped serving food even though we were in the middle of a meal. They did agree we could have dessert in the end and it then took 40 mins to arrive. The service was so bad it took us three hours to eat our meal! Never again!!

Zam Zam's is something of a Leeds institution. It has been situated on the same street for years, but used to be across the road, when it was invariably full of fighting drunks. Now there's a takeaway part, and a restaurant part, if you can call it that. Most people only come here when they're drunk, but it is in fact open during the day. It's not really a restaurant, it's a bit of a dump, but they're friendly enough. It used to be cheap too, but I was shocked by the prices the last time I was here. Not expensive, but dear for what it is. I've always found the curries to be poor to mediocre, and the falafel dishes mediocre. The toilets are filthy, and best avoided.

Had to walk out. On arrival we had good experience and simply went down hill fast. Given menus and then had to wait for salad bowls. Salad bowls brought and then had to wait for somebody to take order. Do we get salad before ordering our main. Meal deal ordered and then had to ask for glasses Then a long wait for food. Continual pizzas being boxed up but dining in customers seem to be low priority. When asked waitress give an excuse we didn't understand - so simply gave up and walked out. Extremely disappointed and not for me to experience again. If there's a delay at least explain that things are busy or keep us informed.

Quite happy to accommodate bands and their followers who sympathise with those who lost the 2nd World war. Steer clear.

Called at Yeadon Cafe for lunch as I was having the kitchen revamped. Husband ordered Gammon , Chips, egg, and peas. He got luke warm what I think was supposed to be Gammon but looked like the underneath of a shoe . It was grey with some form of watered down sauce. Egg was runny and not cooked as the white was slimey, the peas turned out to be baked beans and the chips were fries but so hard the only way to eat them was by your fingers as the snapped into pieces when challenged with a knife or fork. As an ex catering manager for Morrisons the store has gone down hill very quickly. There is lack of training in all aspects and god help them if they got a food and hygiene inspector. How they have got away with such low standard is unthinkable. Ken Morrison will be turning in his grave.

Visited the two cafes in the Leeds M and S .Store was moderately busy but both cafes had very long queues due to the fact that only one till was open in each one. This is clearly a management issue but they will not know of this. On a previous visit they didn’t have dairy free milk despite selling it in the store.

Ordered chicken Kiev 12” calzone and beef lasagne with onion rings. Onion rings were ok. Calzone order was incorrect but still ok ish until I got to the piles of badly dry chicken, thick with cheese and lacking the other ingredients that was promised. Very disappointed and threw half away. Partner also threw half the lasagne away, saying it tasted really cheap and tasteless :/ disappointed, as we love trying new places.

I ordered a Choco Brownie Surprise with no brownie surprise. All I got was brownie crumbs. This sundae had no brownie chunk pieces, only crumbs! I paid £8 for crumbs! They deceived me by putting half a brownie chunk on the top of sundae specifically next to the wafer to make it more visible. Was that the surprise?????
