Oh. Dear. Best bit was food was tasty but was it worth a long queue caused by one paced service. No get up and go behind the counter just plodders. Then a bun fight for a chair after of course you have paid far far too much but won't complain for fear of being branded miserable. Just not worth it. Bring a pack up.

Small menu but with something for everyone. We had BBQ Bacon Cheeseburgers that were absolutely delicious - burgers sourced from Homefarm at Temple Newsam. Kids had tomato pasta and a half jacket both were served on a novelty penguin plate. Staff were friendly and helpful providing allergen information and preparing a gluten free meal for my daughter.

Queued for about 15 mins to order, over £5 for a burger with no option of chips or any sides and £2 for a can of coke!! and was honestly the worst burger I have ever eaten. Tasted like the cow died 20 years ago and was ran over several times. I was starving and still didn’t eat it, had better burgers from car boot burger vans. Would visit Lotherton hall again but won’t be going near the cafe

We often go to Lotherton Hall and use this cafe on most visits, we have found that since lock down the cafe has really improved, the staff are always very helpful and friendly, the food is good down to earth food and the prices are very good. Service with a smile always. We enjoy our visits to the cafe.

Called in here on Sunday morning at half 10 ( opens at 10 ) tried to order 3 sausage sandwiches only to be told that they were out of sausage and only had bacon… so I had a bacon butty and a coffee. The butty was awful .. dry breadcake filled with the worst fatty bacon I have ever seen. The coffee was served in a paper cup and was only half full. Very poor and ridiculous pricing.

We have been visiting The Stables since the start of the pandemic. We find the staff wonderful, warm, friendly and caring. The paninis are delicious, especially when made by Angus ! One criticism is the cakes are top price!

My husband and I met a friend of mine who I hadn't seen for many years at Lotherton and went for a coffee and a snack in the café. The staff were very pleasant but, sadly the coffee was really poor and the sausage rolls were some of the worst we've had anywhere. We returned later for tea and scones and I can only think they must have come from the same bakery as the sausage rolls as they were so dry even with cream and jam. If they need anything to repair the building they could use the scones! My friend was very upset and apologetic as she had treated us to tea. Come on now! Surely you could source better baked goods than this?

Went to but some drinks to take away.,very rude lady got my order wrong then loudly commented that it was my fault. Coffees were only half a cup, terrible value for money. Won’t be going again.

The cafe is run by students with no guidance whatsoever who have two speeds , slow and stop. The wait to get served is ridiculous. The food is of average quality and quite pricey. The place is constantly full of tables that need clearing and the staff seem to take a painfully long time to do this. One good thing is that the tiny side salad with my panini was super fresh and I could not fault that. The place just needs a robust manager.

Very slow service, we qued for awhile, fair enough couldn't be helped it was busy, spent 15 mins waiting to get in, we then ordered the burgers to be told they weren't available, if they had put some signs outside to say this, we would of avoided the hassle and grief from the kids to choose something else while holding the que up...

Have always found the service in this cafe very slow. What it seems to lack is a manager to direct the young people who work there. Went in today and it was absolutely freezing and quite uninviting with lots of bits of food on the floor despite being quiet. The price of a slice of carrot cake at over £4 I felt was daylight robbery. The toilets were as cold as a fridge and totally unsuitable therefore to have to use as a baby change for a three month old. With a few tweaks I feel this cafe really could be much better and whoever is the manager needs sacking and get someone in who can sort the place out because it could be fantastic.

An enviable location, smack in the middle of the Lotherton estate. Plenty of room inside, spacious and airy. Seating outside in the old stable yard under parasols are popular. Queue was pretty long but service was good. If you've been to National Trust or English Heritage houses you'll know the score.

My neighbour and I enjoyed our first visit since Lockdown. The extra precautions ensured that there were no worries. The toasted teacakes were as good as ever and were a good prelude to our trip round the Bird Garden

I can honestly say that is the filthiest cafe I have ever visited. We arrived at 1.30pm on a Saturday afternoon and every single table had used dishes on it with flies and wasps everywhere. The floor was covered in litter and discarded food. To get a table I had to clear one myself, and when I asked a waitress if she would wipe it, she looked at me as if I'd spoken in a foreign language. 10 minutes later, she brought the food to our filthy table that she still hadn't wiped. The staff seem to be on another planet, delivering food but walking past tables without collecting anything and being seemingly oblivious to the mess that surrounded them. The toilets were filthy too, with excrement on the seats. If you go to Lotherton, do yourself a favour and take your own sandwiches, you'll be glad you did.

This could be a really nice cafe. In a lovely period building it serves drinks and light meals. They only serve drinks from a push button machine and the latte wasn't too brilliant, but the chocolate cake was really good. I must say though that...

£9 for 2 small coffees a scone and a piece of chocolate brownie. The sandwiches did not look appetising either.

Pleasant ambiance even with several bawling babes. The lasagna I had was well prepared and presented with cheese on top and a big slice of tomato.

Restaurant looks nice but was freezing cold. French toast breakfast on a cold plate was tasteless and thrown together draped with 2 pieces of bacon that were burnt, greasy and limp. I had one and a half tiny sausages in a stale bun not even buttered. £17 wasted. Find somewhere else that takes greater pride in what it serves and better respects its customers.

We used to love this cafe together with a great, well stocked garden centre. Fabulous cakes, buns and meals and we've never had a problem. However, our visit during the first week in Jan 24 was an eye opener. I gave my cup back because it was dirty so was given a clean one. Both teapots were stained outside even though we only got hot water to put our specialty tea bags in. When we used some of the milk we found the inside of the jug was covered in black mould spots. The person I spoke to and showed the jug to just shrugged her shoulders and said everything goes through the dishwasher. Funnily enough my review on Google has been taken down as have the pictures of the filthy crockery.

I just wanted to take the time to say a big thanks to the staff working at the station starbucks in Leeds today. There were clearly a lot of people that were too hot...impatient..angry and directing a lot of it towards the barrister. I want to say thank you for then for still smiling, letting me know the waiting time and still despite all of the crap they were getting, working hard to male sure everyone got served. Special thanks to the bug bald guy serving (sorry didn't catch a name) Hollie
