Really nice pub, good selection of drinks, great food, highly recomend the all day breakfast. Staff very attentive. Nice beer garden, suitable for age ranges.

Our 3rd Walking Group Meal at The Star & once again excelled in service & quality. Many thanks to Ian & Amy for managing the booking who were happy to add people at short notice & adjusting the menu to suit any dietary needs. Amy, Chloe & the 2 Smart young Men who quickly served 30+ drinks & followed with the meals with great efficiency. The food was Quality as everyone commented - thank you Chefs. Our group came from all over Yorkshire & commented what a lovely large airy space for a group meal up the slightly raised area along with a more intimate conservatory for smaller groups & couples - Well done The Star & do highly recommend -:Thank You. This is our first visit to the White Gate. It won't be our last. We enjoyed a delicious lunch and our waitress Krystal was very pleasant. It's dog friendly and she was very attentive to our anxious puppy. There is outside seating if you prefer and a lovely view. The toilets were clean and a basket of ladies essentials was a lovely little touch. A leisurely and relaxed way to spend a couple of hours on a Saturday afternoon.

Asked for lamb madras, definetley not lamb!!! Poor subsitute, but also, generally a rubbish meal all round !!! Never again

Had a nice meal, ordered mixed grill, they had run out of sausages so they asked if I would like extra gammon which I had but it was very salty, no fried egg? Anyway it was ok just missing sausage, a lamb chop maybe and deffo eggs.

Went for tea tonight ordered fish and chips with bits and salt/vinegar no bits or vinegar and for nearly a tenner fish was like a kids meal, curry sauce was watery and flavourless, ordered chip butty hardly anything there usually travel to Wakefield but couldnt be bothered tonight and regretted it disgusting food wont be going again

Had a family meal yesterday & I have to say the food & service was fantastic. Would definitely recommend & I will definitely be going back there soon
