Miller and Carter Steakhouse in Kirklees

We decided to come here for a treat and it was so lovely. Callum was looking after us and he couldn’t do enough for us. So welcoming and attentive. All the food was delicious. Will we be back again? Absolutely!!

Great service, quality food, Good ambience. Pleasant efficient waitress. Dining room temperature just right, deco very tidy clean. Toilets clean. Generally all staff obliging. Car park excellent very level and spacious

4 of us attended for lunch this week and it was faultless. We had 3 different starters and. 4 different mains and the quality and portion sizes were perfect. If you visit give them a compliments to the chef and see what happens. Great fun. Looking forward to my next visit

We have been here many times & always come at Christmas. The last time a couple of weeks ago we both had just one course each a steak. Mine was OK but OH said his was quite ropey. To say the bill was over £90 it is definitely not cheap & we don't mind if it is good but lately we feel it is going down hill. We've been to steak nights at a restaurant not far away & had 2 steaks & a bottle of wine for £40 & it has been good. Think this Christmas we'll have a change & go elsewhere

As always we had a lovely meal. The staff and management are absolutely brilliant and they do their best to look after everyone, especially when it’s really busy. However the restaurant overall is looking a little tired and in need of a bit of tlc…walls need painting, carpets are looking a little bit worn and to be honest, although the toilets are clean, I’ve been in better public toilets….the hand driers very rarely work and again, the toilets also look tired and need of a refresh. That all said…we will definitely return!

Only the second time we have visited. Premises look great and the service was ok, if a little slow. We ordered from the lunch menu. Daughter enjoyed the macaroni cheese but the garlic bread was burnt. My wife said the chicken was “diabolical” tough and dry “the worst she’d ever had”. Dauphinois potatoes also burnt. My burger was ok but dry, not recommended.

Really enjoyed our meals the ribs were cooked to perfection as the meat just fell off the bones we were served by a lovely young lady whose name was kirstie she always had a smile on her face and was very friendly a credit to the restaurant we will definitely be going back and would highly recommend it

We took the family Ten of us for a steak we love it at miller and carter. However, tonight was a bad experience with all the steaks over cooked three of us ordered T Bones medium to rare there were no blood in the steak especially near the bone we have never been disappointed before the only reason we would go back is because of the two wonderful waitresses who were very efficient and professional that's Alison and Sam thanks for making out night bearable

Booked a meal here to celebrate our 25th Wedding Anniversary with family. We ordered a variety of steaks, burgers and one person needed gluten free food. Everything was cooked as asked, it was all really tasty and portion sizes were really generous. The place itself had a nice relaxed feel but what stood out was the high level of service from Mark. He was so helpful, polite and friendly and his customer service skills were second to none. It always adds to the experience when you have staff that go an extra mile and Mark did that. Will definitely be visiting again.

Been coming here for a while since 2017. Been for birthdays, fathers day, valentines. The last time was mothers day. I took my mum out for the 3 course dinner they had for £25 per head. You’d think pretty cheap. And it was, food as well. Even the valentines meal wasn’t great and the last time I went with my dad we ordered fillets for around £30/£40 each and even then we both just thought mediocre. Ever since lockdown its gone down hill to be honest. The steak just isn’t cooked with much care anymore and they always seem to slightly overcook it. The portions are getting smaller as well (starters and sides) and even then the steak itself seems to be increasing its fat content so less meat. Went on valentines a few years ago and spent £100 upwards. Both the partner and I wern’t overly impressed as we should have been for that price. Ordered the scallops for starter expecting 3 big juicy scallops yet I get 3 scallops each the size of my thumb. Probably better off spending that sort of money at a lovely restaurant. Even the dress code has been forgotten. On the website it says ‘sports wear (i.e tracksuit bottoms etc) is not to be worn at our restaraunts’ yet the amount of times I have seen people where exactly that and a hoodie you wouldn’t believe. And they are grown men. My partner wore a dress for valentines and thought she had overdressed!! Its probably worth a 4 star max if its your first time but since I’ve watched it go downhill and others agree its a 3 for me.
