One of the best places to eat in Huddersfield. Good for kids too, as the cinema is very popular with little ones. The brunch menu and sharing platter are the highlights for me.

If you want an all-American Smokehouse experience, look no further. I can't give this place enough stars and praise, excellent place to eat. Been there twice so far, you get a complimentary small box of popcorn on your table, the staff are so friendly and helpful. The food is to die for, the mean is cooked to perfection. If your not sure what you want to eat, then I recommend the plater, you can either get this as a two person sharing platter or a one person platter, trust me you will not be disappointed. While you're there, you don't feel you're in huddersfield, you could actually be in America, eating in a Smokehouse. We love this place. Next time you're in the area or want something special, check it out.

Possibly the best hickorys we have visited, made my granddaughters birthday meal extra special, sang her happy birthday and let her behind the bar to make her own mocktail

Fantastic food and super family friendly. The staff couldn't do enough to help us despite how busy it was. Can't recommend highly enough.

I loved everything about this place. It was my 1st time being in here with my family visiting from Wales.......we were not disappointed!! They staff made some milkshakes with my grandchildren which they enjoyed so much and was such a bonus not to mention the desert we chose of marshmallow toasing on the table..........beautiful deco and very clean!!!

The starters were amazing but the mains were a little underwhelming. Will go again but probably get a few starters and sides as a main instead.

Just been to the Hickory for a meal. Very busy at 8pm on a Saturday night but absolutely no issues with service. We were early but sat at the bar until our time slot. The meal was beautifully cooked, hot, tasty and was exactly as we had ordered. The young lady who looked after us (Brooke) was very attentive, polite and made sure we were happy with everything. I cannot recommend this place highly enough. Booking is recommended but it is definitely worth it. Meal for 2 people with drinks for just over 50 quid.

Just been up there for my birthday with my family and it was absolutely amazing really great food and the staff were really friendly and polite, can’t fault the place.

I recently visited Hickory’s Smokehouse Huddersfield, and it was an incredible experience from start to finish! The atmosphere was warm and inviting, the staff were friendly and attentive, and the food was absolutely delicious. The smoked meats were cooked to perfection, and the portion sizes were generous—definitely worth every penny. What made our visit even more special was that the staff found out it was my birthday. They went out of their way to make the occasion memorable, surprising me with a little treat and a warm birthday greeting. It was such a thoughtful touch that really made my day! From the amazing food to the fantastic service, I can’t recommend Hickory’s Smokehouse enough. Whether you're celebrating a special occasion or just craving some top-notch BBQ, this is the place to go. Can’t wait to visit again!

Having visited the Adel branch in Leeds which is excellent I was expecting high things but sadly it just didn’t quite hit the mark staff good but not that good food average and they sent the platter out without the brisket but we couldn’t be bothered to complain very sloppy service and a sub par experience… such a shame

Food decent enough. Not a great place to eat on a weekend if you don't have kids, it's incredibly noisy with them running riot. We've been during the week and had a much better time. Also the entire time we were there all four staff upstairs spent the vast majority of their time slagging off someone called Josh. I assume he's a new manager as according to those working upstairs the power has gone to his head and he needs to learn how to speak to his staff. I feel sorry for Josh trying to manage those members of staff.

I lived in Georgia USA for many years and since returning to the UK I’ve missed the taste of an authentic southern bbq Everything about Hickory’s was perfect. The Brisket is as good as any I have tasted any where in the US and the fried pickles (frickles) again as good as any I’ve tasted back in the states Skye was our server and was excellent and the atmosphere was just like my favourite bars over there. I highly recommend a visit

Just brilliant for a family meal out. Simple hearty food the whole family loved. But the service is what makes this place. It was my daughter’s birthday and the staff took care to remember her name, chat to her lots, brought out a cake with sparkler and invited her and her sisters behind the bar to make their own milkshakes. They had an amazing time and all asked to go back the next day! We will definitely be back!

Been a few times for family birthdays. Good food and the kids love the cinema, which keeps them entertained.

We love Hickorys. The food is always great and a lovely atmosphere. Kids love the cinema room, popcorn and grape soda and it also has a small outside play area. The staff are all friendly and efficient and they make birthdays/occasions special.

Good food …good friendly service…….as i was about to leave the car park they rang me to say two £20 notes were stuck together so id over paid them and to nip back in so completely honest also..a good place to visit……

The service and atmosphere were absolutely lovely! We were really looking forward to the smokehouse, but it didn’t quite live up to our expectations. The food was quite average, small portions, and drinks were a bit pricey compared to a local pub. We’re always happy to treat ourselves, but at nearly £90 for three mains, three drinks, and a tip, we left the place hungry and neither of us are big eaters.

Been to the Adel one and now Huddersfield one and both very good experiences. Food was great, went for my birthday and felt very welcomed.

The food and atmosphere was great- the host was lovely (tall gentleman with arm tattoos and beard) and the lady to took our payment (think she was a manager- very long blonde hair in a ponytail and red chequered top) and cleared our table was lovely and friendly too- the chef going out to sing happy birthday to another guest was great, thought that was a really nice touch. However our waitress unfortunately could have been a lot better - she wasn’t friendly or welcoming, didn’t do a check back, didn’t ask us if we wanted anymore drinks, didn’t clear our table just walked past us multiple times and was very short when we asked her questions about the menu - if it wasn’t for this it would have been 5 stars all round

The place looks great,with good theming inside and out. Staff were helpful getting me an accessible table...though we were waiting a fair while between courses and no one cleared our table between courses that meant our mains had to sit on top of dirty dish plates,as even when they brought our food and saw no room because of all the starter dirty dishes they didn't clear the table which was very poor..good is decent but very expensive

Came for my birthday, was sat where you get to watch the staff do their thing in the kitchen. A guy with dark hair, think I heard his name was Daniel, pure entertainment for the night. Poor guy was rushed off his feet juggling everything. High pressure environment for a busy Saturday. The guy needs a raise because I couldn’t do it. It was eye opening to see what kitchen staff have to do sometimes. Food was lovely, 10/10 recommend. Thankyou Hickory’s x & thanks Dan(?) you didn’t know it was my birthday, but the brief chat before me and my partner left hoping we had a good time aside from seeing you stress was much appreciated by us & we appreciated your hard work today!

Friendly staff, good service and the food was great.

Been here loads and was blown away each time. Food is always amazing and filling and the staff have never even thought about being anything but kind. However a few little things hold this place back from being completely perfect, first of all it’s a tad pricey and a hair was found in my tables food but this is a one off in the many times I’ve been, as well as them being out of quite a few of the menu. Despite of this, I cannot recommend this place enough.

Wonderful food and service to match

The family loved it. The food was amazing, our server, Brooke, was lovely, the atmosphere was fabulous. The live music was great and the kids loved the cinema. We had the sharing platter and it was so tasty, the portion was massive. Wait times are a little long but the restaurant was packed so I'm not surprised. The atmosphere more than made up for a little wait time. Sam, who was singing live, was amazing, I'm so glad he was booked the same night we visited. Fantastic family night, thank you Hickory's.

Hi usually Go to hickory’s on average once every month/two months. It was my little girls 8th birthday yesterday and decided hickory’s. Good service at first but then drinks took longer than expected and drinks missing. Meat from the sharing platter was dry and over cooked. Sauces and seasoning had to be asked for repeatedly. Then the cake( I provided) came and plates and knifes for everybody had to be asked for again. Really disappointed with the service if I’m honest, such a shame as for £300 for 7 people you kind of expect more.

Went here to celebrate a birthday. We were a party of 30 and they accommodated us brilliantly. The food came out all together so nobody was waiting, the staff were brilliant and of course the food was delicious.

Went on a Thursday and did the barbecue blowout offer.. we shared it between 2 as its big.. it was nice ..apart from the ribs they were dry but would put me off gett6the offer again! They have done a fab job of doing it out from being the old pub that was there!the service was friendly and quick!will definitely be back

It was my firtst time in the place. I was happy when I found that they make corn dog! The food was delicious. The staff very friendly. Many people were celebrating their birthdays. As United States of America style, they charge 7% (I think) tip included in the bill but you can take it off if you want. The gravy was the best I had so far in the UK. The only think I didn't like was the buch of smokers right on the entrance so when you get in or go out you get the smoke right on to your nose wich is no nice. Smoking so close to the entrance should be prohibited. There is lots of space where smokers can go and damage their lungs without damaging others. But... I will definitely get back.

I had the brisket and chips, which were absolutely delicious, though the food felt a bit pricey. That said, the quality of the food and the exceptional service make it a worthwhile experience. The staff are warm, attentive, and truly enhance the overall dining experience.

I think we must have shares in Hickory's. We champion Hickory's to everyone who loves meat. they also do Vegan which is not to bad. The sharing platter is to die for and is well worth the money, could share between 3/4 tbh. The breakfast stack is a better version of a sausage / egg muffin, however the tater tots with the dust is sublime. Been with friends and family and never had a bad word, always "that's the ... best ever" Great team.

We had an incredible dining experience tonight! From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere was warm and inviting. The food was absolutely outstanding, perfectly smoked, full of flavor. What really made the evening special, though, was the staff. They went above and beyond to ensure we had everything we needed. A perfect combination of delicious food and exceptional service. Highly recommend!

Very friendly welcome and attentive staff. Exciting atmosphere, which turned out to be too loud. Music and noisy table next to us made conversation in our group of 6 impossible. 4 meals arrived, but no sign of share platter, and no waiter to ask. "Mix-up in kitchen" meant 4 of us finished meals and sat and watched sharers eat! Pulled pork and beans was underwhelming- lacked BBQ flavour! Burgers, onion rings and share platter tasty (especially brisket). Staff very apologetic for mix up, and offered free desserts, which we had no room for, or free drinks, which was a round of 6 cokes, which we didn't really want. Tip was knocked off the bill, but tbf that should be voluntary anyway, so no real discount given (and waiting staff probably deserved tip!) Quite expensive at £230 for 6, with 1x alcoholic drink. Wouldn't rush back at Christmas on a weekend.

I have driven past this place so many times and never called in. But today I made an effort and nipped in for half an hour. Very impressed. Apart from the very American feel (not really a bad thing tbh) it was immaculate and very welcoming. Every chair and menu were precisely placed. Tables and toilets spotless. Nice and warm. Staff friendly and efficient. Overall the building is much bigger than one might expect from outside with an upstairs seating area too. I didn't eat but the food smelt amazing. Lots of sports on various screens dotted around the place. Lovely beer garden with lots of seats. Overall I was very impressed and would recommend you bring your family here for any celebrations! 10/10 👍👍👍👍👍

Didn't even realise this was here until we drove past it one day and decided to visit based purely on the outside appearance. So glad we did! Amazing menu with all sorts of American classics to choose from. Very filling portions (as you would expect!) but so very tasty at the same time! The drinks menu was just as impressive with some innovative cocktails to choose from too. Service was excellent and we were very well looked after by all the staff there. I was particularly impressed with the bacon bites starter which consisted of medium sized cubes of bacon that were cooked to perfection in a beautiful glaze with a side of blue cheese sauce to dip them in. Incredibly tasty! We shall have to come back to try out the rest of the amazing menu!

The left hand didn't know what the right hand was doing. We Arrived about 4.45pm on a Sunday afternoon. We said we'd sit in the bar and watch football and order our food and drink ourselves at the bar (there was only 2 of us) Christ, we must have been approached 6 times by different members of staff saying they're going to turn the football off for the NFL, then they're not turning it off.. Then they're turning some of the tvs over and could we move so we're facing a different direction. Then all tvs are going off could we move out of the bar area and stand and eat our £35 food at the actual bar. After loads of fuss on a awful Sunday afternoon, we sat and watched the Chelsea v Spurs match, in the Bar area.. We were the only ones there.. No one watching the NFL, despite staff pestering us every 5 minutes. No one but us were sat in the bar area when we left 90 mins later. The restaurant was about 10% full. What a palarva.. And very expensive. You really really really need to sort the very basics out. How to make some nachos and a pint in front of the game the most stressful, uncomfortable experience imaginable! I missed 2 goals due to staff mithering me.. All giving me different and false information. Very very peculiar. We've been several times, even tho it's massively over priced for the food you get.. And the service is one extreme or the other. Tonight was just crazy weird though. I'm a waitress.. I've been in hospitality at all different levels for over 20 years. At what point did it not flag to just leave that couple alone, doing no harm, watching the TV. Pestering and pestering about the NFL.. You put it on a couple of tvs, which is fine and I didn't need to know about.. And not one person was there to watch it. America themed bar but it's Huddersfield mate! Stop being contrived

We have enjoyed the food and atmosphere as it is a lot different than what you can usually find in a lot of restaurants in UK. As I wanted to try different meats available, I went with Go big or go home burger that came with fries and salad. While tasty, it was hard to eat and it was warm, not hot. Unfortunately, that (not being hot) seem to be the case for most of the food. Even though it was loud inside, we could still chat without issues. Staff members were really friendly and helpful too. Overall, it feels like it would be a good place for larger parties or celebrations with few different than usual dishes. At the end, just a warning for anyone who is particular about the fat in their food, you should be careful about choosing ribs or steak while burgers should be fine.

Great Outlook when you first arrive you are greeted and shown to your table. We were sat right next to the mini cinema so my granddaughter was happy and only came out to eat a little. My daughter treated me to a lovely lunch, it was my birthday and the staff brought a cake with fireworks and sang, it was all very good. Good selection of food all be it a little over priced but worth it for a one off experience.

Very poor service, taking way too long and then forgetting to bring what was asked for... Med - rare steak was massively overcooked and a replacement took nearly 20 minutes to come after chasing it... I was so disappointed and will never return, there are many places worth going to instead.

Love this restaurant. Food is amazing and staff are so friendly. Took my son today as he was celebrating getting his man of the match in football- staff were so kind and gave him an experience he will always remember. Will definitely be back for many more special occasions!

Food was great. Service good. The only negative was the £9.50 charge for a glass of 'draft' wine! Ridiculously expensive and out of context with rest of bill. The waitress couldn't explain the expense when I asked why?

Lovely place to eat , went for my nieces 16th, really enjoyed it , was quite impressed with the outside eating area and as it was a bit chilly they supplied fleece blankets to keep you warm

Food was great for American style in the north of England. My friends had the fried chicken burger and the BBQ brisket sub, and they couldn’t stop raving about how tasty they were. I had the half rack of baby back ribs; the sauce was delicious, however the meat was slightly overcooked and a bit tough. The chips, upgraded to cheesy chips, were great cheesy fries. Overall the meal was very good, and we had a great time. The service was spot on, the servers were very attentive and made sure we were happy at every point, from choice of table to quality of meal. Cannot fault them at all.

I got the 1/2 pound brisket which was the driest toughest meat I’ve tasted and I pint of coke which was finished in a couple of mouthfuls due to a full glass of ice. And the tiniest portions aswell was more a la carte than American portions 😂. The mrs got Mac and cheese which she enjoyed to be fair and a cloudy lemonade which was quite tasty too. But all in all very very disappointing with how long we have been waiting to come try it, I only wish we would have waited longer. Don’t think we will be going again!!!!

Smokehouse platter is very easy to recommend, but be prepared to take some home with you!

Staff very friendly and efficient. We were seated straight away and were surprised with how quick the service was with it being a busy Friday evening. They had live music playing which was nice but wish the volume could’ve been lowered as it was quite loud and we couldn’t hear each other that well. We had the smokehouse platter for 2 which was more than enough and had a very tasty selection. We especially liked the baby back ribs and the pulled pork beans. We had the grape soda which was lovely and the cloudy lemonade which was very tart!

Quite a mixture of emotions here. Door staff were confused and a little meek, then the wait staff were at the other end of the spectrum, which was a little much (but it's American style so it fits). Starters were amazing but the mains were a little let down. I ordered the brisket which was supposed to come warm, but the other things on the plate (fries) were also just warm. Other little things stopped me from giving 5 stars. I would still recommend however, it is an experience

My Sister & Brother in law (who is American) took me here. What an amazing restaurant. All American themed including American football on TV. There is a great choice of food and we all loved what we ordered. It was my Goddaughters 21st Birthday and they let her make a cocktail of her choice for free. Also a small cake and indoor firework after dinner. Excellent service, great food. We will definitely be going again 😊

Poor portion sizes, voluntary tip already added to the bill when the prices are already more than the food and drinks are worth. Onion rings are terrible, brisket is dry. Disappointed.

Good meal overall, food fresh and tasty 😋 unfortunately we got sat in a very rowdy and loud area, found it very difficult to hold any sort of conversation in our group, definitely would look to return and hopefully a quite area.

Been here 3 times now and we have a good time, every time. I'm rating this on the 3 experiences I've had. The food is great, nice portion sizes and good value for what you get. Music is not overly loud and there's always a good atmosphere with a "buzz". They bring free popcorn and water to the tables before taking orders which is a nice touch. The waiting staff are always smiling and engaging, the staff in general are welcoming and friendly. The only thing that let's it down here is the service seems a little somewhat chaotic, in 2 of the 3 times we've been here we have been left without drinks and its difficult to grab the eye of a staff member as they are always so busy runningfrom pillar to post. Also once you have finished and want to pay & leave, this can be a lengthy wait too might be best planning ahead and asking for your bill when your ready to leave about 30 minutes time! Top tip for couples: ask for a table away from the kids ice cream counter, unsupervised children are left to run riot when decorating their ice creams! Don't let these points put you off, simply ask not to be seated near the cinema if you want a quieter area and when ordering your deserts ask for the bill too!

We had a fantastic time, both for dinner and brunch. The food was mostly great. The jalapeño and cheese sausage was delicious, as were the tater tots. The ribs were tough - was half expecting them to fall off the bone, but had to grapple with it. That’s to some people’s taste though. Root beer float is filled with ice and topped with whipped cream instead of ice cream. Staff were over the top friendly, made for a fantastic customer service experience. They catered for every need.

It’s busy on Thursday night which demonstrates its popularity but I’m not sure it’s deserving on the popularity. Service is very good and efficient but the quality of food and the abundance of kids running wild lets the place down. The food in my opinion is OK nothing better nothing worse. Just ok. Would I return? Probably not. Do I regret going? It was OK.

Eating here makes me want to go back to America!

This is a great place to go for families with kids. Their food is tasty and the service is very attentive and nice. I loved the experience, even if I put a lot of weight on (the food is too tempting, it is their merit rather than their fault, a lot of will power is needed not to finish the delicious beautiful food this place serves) There is plenty of entertainment for kids and the price is reasonable. I will come here regularly after this experience.
