Called in on way back from dog walk with our 4 year old daughter early yesterday evening but quickly left due to abhorrent behaviour of customer who started swearing loudly, repeatedly using the F word, calling the staff member a 'knob' and knocking drink over near us. My little girl was very frightened and I'm upset that she had to witness this. I would like to know what action you've taken

Used to like this pub but what I've witnessed tonight is nothing short of criminal. Do the farmers run this pub seeme to me they do. Why should they skip music someone else has paid for and get away with it, the landlord or owners do absolutely nothing to stop them. Stay away from this pub until they are either barred or move somewhere else

Great spot for lung with a good selection of light bites and unusual sandwiches as well as more substantial meals. The real ale selection offered contrasting styles some of which are brewed on the premises. I intend to return for an evening in the near future. What more can I say.

My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our Saturday night meal at the New Inn. Starting with the gorgeous 'sexy mushrooms', I had the delicious seared tuna steak whilst my other half had the monkfish tail. Both mains were excellently cooked, presented and enjoyed by us both. Creme Brûlée was my dessert choice, chocolate orange sponge my husband's. Again both puddings were faultless. Even the wine was a perfect accompaniment to the meal. The staff were very professional, polite and efficient. Would definitely recommend to our friends and family.

A small party of us booked this restaurant because of the reviews and a recommendation. However,I was initially disappointed with the look of the place having passed several beautiful old stone inns on the way. Inside had little to recommend it and it had the ambience of a back street pub. The restaurant itself was nothing special and there was only a large, noisy party in besides ourselves. It was Christmas and there were just a few baubles hung around. No tree or decorations in the pub. The Christmas dinner was lovely. The lamb dish looked a bit of a mess but I was told it tasted O.K.. The seafood was good. The Eton Mess was let down buy tinned strawberries!!! It would have been better to have left them off altogether and pretended they didnt put strawberries on at all! Not a venue for a special day out - perhaps my fault for not knowing the area.

Had a lovely pre Christmas meal at the New Inn. The menu wasn't too extensive (or expensive) so you could tell everything was freshly made. When the meal arrived I was very impressed - portion sizes were perfect and the food was piping hot. The waitress was really nice and friendly without been 'too in your face!' Atmosphere was lovely, but think that's because the restaurant was full with Christmas diners ! Will certainly be going back in a few weeks.

A real shame, we felt disappointed but were told we couldn't mix the menus. No problem though, they offered us the full menu and it had burgers on! Oh the disappointment - no burgers left! We had eaten around the corner at Continental Cuisine on a previous occasion and enjoyed their tapas menu, the downside being the very cramped dining space. The relationship with the New Inn therefore is a good marriage as they have a roomy and pleasant dining room.We had the steak menu with a pate starter and cheese to finish. The food - as expected was very good and the service efficient and friendly. The cost was £35 for 2 and we could order bar drinks from the waiting staff, The New Inn is in walking distance from home, always a bonus, and the atmosphere was warm and enjoyable - highly recommended. It would be good to have spoons with the steak sauces or serve them in jugs with spouts - saves spillages. Also the very satisfying chips were pre salted - good for me but not my wife who doesn't like salt. Also the cheese was supposed to be served with "late Christmas cake" but it wasn't and its absence was not explained.Overall a pleasant experience we will certainly repeat

A few other people chose the fish starter and the goats cheese tart for the main and there was the offer of a delicious looking cheeseboard. Everyone of us were delighted with the meal and the staff are so friendly and accommodating to those with allergies etc. It was just a great experience and we will be certainly be returning! On another note, me and my partner ALSO tried the Tapas night....WOW! The food was of very good quality and it all tasted great. The service was with a lovely smile and all the Tapas dishes were explained as they were served. At the end of the meal we were all stuffed full but still couldn't resist the puddings which were fantastic. The meal was £20 per person which everyone agreed was excellent value for money. Having been going to the deli tapas evenings for a couple of years, we've had some of the best food ever! Great to see that with the move the New Inn, Claire and her team have kept the extremely high standards, with amazing food, from tapas to Sunday lunch to the new Bistro menu. Never disappointed in all the times we've been, always a change of tapas each time, so worth going every week now! Sunday lunch is a really relaxed affair, with lovely lovely food, great service and great ambience. Tapas evenings are always an excitement, wondering whats going to be on the menu tonight, and now there's the added bonus of real ale at the bar! Perfect world for everyone. Desserts to die for, although its only recently Ive broken my tradition and NOT had the creme brulee, which has got to be the best on earth! Absolute full credit to Claire and her team, who work so hard and have brought a little bit of paradise to Roberttown! The New Inn has a brilliant new food offer - the tapas is really top quality restaurant standard (it's quite a find!). The portion sizes are incredibly generous and all of the ingredients are fresh and cooked to perfection (paricularly the huge prawns & slow roast lamb, my favorites).I sampled the Sunday lunch on Mothers day, and the restaurant was packed, with live music as well. A very special soul singer wowed us whilst we ate. All the food came on time, piping hot, and the service was warm, welcoming and really friendly towards families. If you live near to here its definitely worth checking it out. This is the kind of food you normally only experience in the most expensive country Inns, or city centre restaurants. This team can deliver wonderfully local Yorkshire Sunday dinners and the most delicate and yummy spanish tapas, I wouldn't every pass on an offer to go for either!

We visited this pub for the first time a few weeks ago on a Saturday night. A friend had recommended the tapas night, and told us that it was worth the drive from Leeds. We weren't disappointed; the food was exceptional, and the service very personable and charming. There were 8 of us in total, and for £20 a head we were presented with a feast of homemade goodies, including warm breads, olives, homemade aioli, monkfish parcels, stuffed peppers, king prawns, baked cheeses, chicken and chorizo dishes and more. The food is all prepared by Claire, and sourced from her family's farm in Liversedge. I think the menu changes depending on what's in season. 4 of our party are vegetarians (including me) so it was a real treat to be spoilt with lots of colourful and tasty meat-free options. The desserts (a selection of cheesecake, eton mess, chocolate pots, crumbles etc) were also lovely, although if I'm being fussy, my creme brûlée didn't 'crack' ...but it was still delicious. The room is also worth a mention - very nicely decorated and filled with fresh flowers and candles during our visit. And finally an added bonus was the selection of real ales available at the bar!A first class experience as far as I was concerned. Would never have thought to visit this pub as it's not particularly close to home, but will definitely travel down again - for the food alone!* I notice from previous reviews that there's been some confusion in the past about if and when food is served, so I would definitely recommend checking that Claire's tapas night is on before you go!

After visiting this establishment I came away feeling disappointed, I had been misinformed and told that there was food available. I found this a shame as the layout of the pub is ideal for a restaurant type setup.Although the selection and price of beers and ales are overall fairly reasonable, the inclusion of this pub as a restaurant is no longer viable as it does not serve food, and we came away feeling hungry.

Gone downhill, no point even being open anymore. Some stuff on menu not available due to no stock (wedges, smash burgers). Dead atmosphere, only 1 person working, cleanliness needs to improve, cold inside, food went cold quick and tasted salty. Nowhere near as good as the Sheffield one. I came here when it newly opened and it was good then but best off avoiding now.
