the worse fish and chips ever had ,chips old and like cardboard small fish a joke it was like a fish cake it was that small and for 6.50 expected a bit bigger ,very greasy

Both ,Fish was lovely and so were the onion rings and curry sauce will be ordering again 👍

The chip butty was filling and I think they are bigger. Unfortunately, some of the chips were much harder than they should be. More extra chips than I could eat.

chips aren't like i remember, they're had on the outside and chewy on the inside. hopefully just a one off but I haven't ordered from here in a while so I don't know

A real quality proper fish and chip shop! Superbly cooked food, plenty of choice on the menu, amazing value for money and really polite staff with friendly service. Definitely my new favourite!

The chip shop curry sauce spilled so I ended up not having much on my fish bites and chips. I lost most of the curry sauce but overall the food was good but because of the spill of curry sauce my fish bites and chips were a bit dry.

The food and the delivery time were out of this world. Will definitely be recommending Stacey’s in the future. Perfect !!!

Delivery driver didn't seem to understand that he needed to open the door to get into the block of flats. Food was nice and filling.

I hate to be putting this but wow so disappointed. we've been coming here for years and getting it delivered also with no problems until today. not only was the food cold, due to the driver going round the houses and delivering other orders before ours, it was greasy. so so greasy, the fish batter was unedable. the grease had gone through all the wrapping and then box it came in. the batter was so thick the inside wasn't even cooked properly. disappointing.

Owner or workers kids stood in door way was annoying trying to get in and leave ..very expensive for medioca food and some items forgotten so had to go back in past all the kids again congrigating around the door inside ...

First time trying here and all I can say is beautiful.. food was delicious

We both enjoyed our meals. The thing that stood out for me today was how wonderfully hot the food was. It was as though we were just round the corner. The sausage was very nice and filling, and I appreciate it being put with the chips instead of being a separate item. Thank you very much for the outstanding food and service. Best fish shop around and my Just Eat favourite.

Fish fluffy and light, chips still warm, curry sauce loads of taste, wonderful meal

Food is tiny - expensive for the size - avoid and go to one of the many other chippies around here.

Ordered fish & chips for the family, everything tasted like it had been re-heated from dinner. All really dry and no real taste to it.

Sadly the scampi lacked crispiness

I had something different for a change. The onion rings from here are amazing and they go well with a cone of chips. Very filling due to the amount of onion rings, but nice to have in the early evening if you haven't had much to eat all day.

First time ordering yesterday used Uber.. first it showed was on way then delayed because first driver must of had other plans even though tracking showed he was nearly there to pickup..so assigned another driver had to wait another 20 or so minutes by then food be going cold with first driver not bothering.. little portions for £10 each fish and chips saying that chips wasn't up to scratch looked as bad as they tasted so technically paid £20 for two fish cause chips wasn't good enough to eat.i am in Eastborough down road so check ul see this is legit customer review from 11th April 2024 only forgot at time due to my hunger of this meal to leave review won't be back

The delivery was excellent. On time still warm but not hot. Fish was a little too dry for our tastes and chips were little undercooked. The fish didn’t melt in your mouth like it should’ve & batter was a little soggy not crispy enough for us. But the disappointment was how dry the fish tasted no moisture in it I think it was overcooked (sorry guys). First time of going, wouldn’t necessarily never go again but not top of our list to order.

The chips were nice. The sausage was tasty. Perfectly delivered. But the best thing of all is even though the sausage and chips are separate items, the sausage was put with the chips, without me even having to ask. That's how great this fish shop is.

I dont usually leave reveiws. But the food here was super tasty. I asked for a bag of scraps and I got loads. Really impressed and will deffo order again

Worst fish and chips I've ever had

fish butty was fine but sadly the scallops were black and green inside and needed scissors to cut them in half they were that bad...not normal from here so will return but will just stick to fish in the future

Out of this world! Put me in a happy mood. I absolutely loved it. Perfect quantity of chips, and they even put the sausage with the chips for me to make it even better.

Perfectly lightly battered fish as requested. Beans slightly cold but 10 seconds in microwave sorted that, no problem. Delivery driver lovely also, quick and polite. Will definitely be ordering again.

I ordered chips and a jumbo sausage. What a meal! The chips tasted delicious even with nothing on. Very tasty. The sausage was on the tough side, but there were no hard bits in the sausage, and that is a good thing. Although they don't give you the option of bits, there were some bits with my meal and they also tasted good. It would be great to be able to order jumbo sausage and chips together rather than as 2 separate items, and even better if there was the option of adding salt and vinegar. Still, I highly recommend Hemingways, especially if you're on your own so don't need £10 worth of food. I'll even be telling my good wife that she should order from Hemingways. What a meal! Fantastic.

My wife decided we should try a change of chip shop for some reason and found good reviews about this one online.I went up just before closing and the lady asked how many fish I needed so they were cooked to order.Lovely big flakey fish, nice chips I think I ordered the wrong curry sauce.

Failed to deliver, again. Hemingways reputation is being trashed by their choice of delivery agent.

The food is fine here but I have had 7 orders from Hemingways and they have never stamped my card so I am done with them

Just had the most amazing fish 'n chips from here served by a lovely girl who gave me a lesson in Yorkshire lingo. I know know what a "splash" is and what a scallop is (I thought it was fish). The quality was outstanding and the prices are great too. Highly Recommend.

Usual excellent standard,I have tried them all and these are the best .

Fish was slightly greaser than normal but the fish itself was still delicious. The chips and gravy was as lovely as ever. It would have got delivered quicker if it hadn't have been for the driver delivering something else on the way, but that's not down to hemmingways. Still was fresh and hot.
