Used to come here very often and have being coming for over 10 years however since they have been recently taken over it’s gone down hill! My mother and I got the same meal as we normally do (beef sandwich) and it was not the same. Used to come in thick bread now it comes in thin awfully dry bread. It’s supposed to come with a jug of gravy and it didn’t, we had to ask for it and then they only brought one out. The beef was too thickly sliced for a sandwich and very chewy, lots of fat and extremely dry. It used to be lovely, no fat and it used to crumble and be easy to eat however today eating it it was like eating cardboard. We used to enjoy coming here very often but think we’ll find somewhere else now which is a shame.

Nice people, nice staff, but the food is just below average, equivalent or less of what you'd make at home with oven food - it feels like the Chef or Cook is just frying frozen foods or re-heating frozen or pre-assigned meal specifics.. It might not be quite as bad as that, but it's not home-cooked as you might expect from a local pub, no real seasoning or flavour, tonight was overcooked for me.. One thing is that for families and children, the food is probably ok, it's edible etc.. As adults we used to go 6-7yrs ago a lot and it was busier, a bit better.. my other half goes a bit still and I went tonight for the first time in a year to give it a 2nd chance given that the landlord has changed, but it's just the same level of food quality.. Could be an amazing place if the cook or chef was given loads of fresh ingredients and raw foods to go at, he or she might be amazing, but it just feels like for years now that the management are content to be average, or below average.. I won't be going again sadly. Just be a better place, a better menu, better food, something a person would be happy to pay £12-£14 per meal for, not regret choosing to go to.. Could be better and hopefully might be in time.

I have just been for my birthday meal with my family the burgers were raw in the middle we sent them back we should have got fresh burger,s instead we got re cooked burgers back which were uneatable wd asked for a refund but was refused as they were part eaten what a disappointing birthday

Whenever me and my family are here, we always have a great time and the service is always top quality. The food is lovely and the servers are very polite and there isn't a really long waiting time for the food. Overall this place is a great area to have some food.

Was here for a 97th Birthday, the food was ok but our experience was made a lot better by Callum who served, us, he was very diligent and helpful and obviously cared about every table he serves. He helped us carry drinks over to the table also. Thank you Callum!

Went for lunch with my husband and daughter yesterday we have been here a few times now and the food is really nice and good value for money. Callum our server was very friendly and polite all in all a very pleasant afternoon would highly recommend.

Nice restaurant for tea, quirky decor, bright table next to the window. Callum, our waiter couldn't do enough for us to enjoy our meal. Recommended for a casual occasion.

Visited on Monday evening, pub very quiet but it was just before food was due to be stopped serving at 8pm. Ordered at bar from Daniel who was very pleasant and took our order. Food arrived quickly and was decent pub grub, value for money. Server was Callum who kept checking we were OK and was very polite.

Food was lovely, it was quiet so it came quickly. Callus was lovely, polite and attentive. I do come in often as it is local, never had a problem, always happy to accommodate

Callum was an excellent member of staff serving us. Nothing was too much and his smile was infectious. Planning to come again soon.

Went for a birthday drink, the pub was almost empty so decided to order food. Requested a table for 9. The waitress said they did not have a table for 9. Requested 2 tables next to each as the pub was empty. The waitress just huffed and walked away leaving us standing. We found a table big enough for us all and ordered food. We were told there is a big family in the back who had ordered so the wait would be 45 minutes. The rest of the pub was empty. We were then told they would have to bring the starters and main meals out together to save time. I told them we did not want that, which they agreed to do but were visibly angry. The food came, the burger was uncooked, the liver was inedible and the chicken curry was just water and some how the chicken was dry. Terrible food, terrible and unprofessional unpleasant staff.

A great meal and good value for money

Really disappointed with todays meals. We both ordered cottage pie which was basically a dish of mash potatoes 🥔 we found half a dozen tiny bits of mince in each one. Luckily there was a jug of tasty gravy to make it edible as we were both hungry. We did inform the waitress when she came to collect our plates but were not offered any refund. We have been eating here for many years and have noticed the change in menu etc but sadly this has put us off an early if any return.

Dear Helen and Chris, this has been our third visit to stay with you over the past couple of years,(travelling up from Brighton East Sussex)for B&B and you never disappoint. I wanted to celebrate my 76 th birthday with my wife and son. It is a restaurant that we often use. This would be my last celebration, because I am dying of cancer. We ordered our food about 18.20 together with soft drinks, at 18.58 I was feeling unwell, so I walked up to bar and asked if they had forgotten our order, the bar maid reply was somewhat disgusting. She said she would cancel our order and give us our money back which she did. Do you treat all your regular customers like this, and do you train your staff?

Quiet pleasant place. Nice ,clean room with very comfy bed . Lovely breakfast and service but it's a pity that there was no other type of milk to choose from, because I am lactose intolerant , but that's only tiny minus. I would highly recommend .

We did not use the hotel part. It is a pub and restaurant. The meal and service was excellent.

Me and my Partner both got the Giant Yorkshire pudding with beef, the meat was so tough to cut, even with a steak knife, which we had to ask for, exactly the same thing happened with the same meal 3 weeks ago, I complained to the staff, and no mention about replacing the beef, really disappointed, and won't be ordering that meal again, that's if we actually go to the liversedge again.

Me and my partner went for a meal at tea time today, we both got giant yorkshire pudding with beef from the 2 for £14 menu, the beef and Yorkie were very tough, and even after asking for steak knifes, it was still almost impossible to cut, we got the same meals 3 weeks ago and it was just as bad, I complained to the staff and all I got was a disinterested "Sorry about that", and no offer to change the meals, wont be ordering those meals again, that's if we even go to the liversedge again.

We have eaten a few times now at The Liversedge and everytime its been really nice food and the staff are always friendly. On our last visit we tried the two for £14, it was good value and very tasty.

Absolutely awful and rude managers, they don't care about customers or staff. Very very ignorant. Will not be going again or recommending. Heard it's being taken over, sooner the better !!!!!

Warm welcome, very clean and tidy room, and an excellent breakfast! Would not hesitate to book again.

Booked an overnight midweek stop. Lovely room in an annex off the main building, so nice and quiet. Friendly service and good beer. Topped off by the best Full English Breakfast I've had in a long time. I would definitely recommend.

We are regulars here and have a table booked for a party and cher tribute. Friday was the worst meal ever. Wanted to order mixed grill no mixed grills so we ordered burgers n sat down. Staff looked bored as if they didn't want to be there. Someone came n said they had no bacon for burgers ridiculous when u r close to 2 supermarkets 5 mins walking distance. We didn't even get offered anything extra after all we got told was off menu. No wonder it was empty on a bank holiday wkend. Disgusting service staff that dint really want to serve u n not enough food for orders

Worst meal out in a long time, was there on Saturday 30 March. And the food was inedible. We had the smothered chicken that was that over cooked not only was dry, it was tough and the ends of the chicken breast were that dry they had turned black and the chips were that dry and cold they were all but stale. Also had the Chilli Con Carne, which tasted as though some of the ingredients were off. When raised the issue with the wait staff that the food was not up to the standard you would expect even for pub grub. The landlord came over in an abrupt and confrontational, but also down right rude manner, all but called us lairs by saying its was obviously our tastes buds that’s the problem and that specifically the chilli con carne was cooked fresh the day before. He did not try to rectify the situation but said it was our problem, he did not even offer an apology for our experience. Would not recommend this place to my worst enemy due to the poor quality of food and the terrible customer service from the landlord.

The landlord is rude, unprofessional and unwelcoming! Such a shame as the other staff are lovely.

Went for a family meal out.All 8 of us thoroughly enjoyed it.The service was excellent and the various meals individuals had were delicious.We will definately be going again.

Christmas day lunch was absolutely awful; extremely slow service, the meal was tastless ( burnt roast beef and yorkshire pudding and soggy vegetables) and as it had to be paid for in advance ( no excuse not to have more waiting staff working.) I felt like we were held hostage. I would never eat there again!

Had Christmas Dinner there yesterday as we have done for the past 7 or 8 years, only this time we were met by a man who seemed to have anger issues (landlord) and then when our dinner finally did arrive the portions were minuscule..1 pig(s) in blanket, 3 or 4 sprouts, 1tbls of carrots a few roast potatoes, no Yorkshire puddings and hardly any gravy whatsoever. Needless to say we won't be going there again.

If I could award minus stars, I would ,. 7 of us booked for Christmas day lunch and it's the worst food and service experience myself and family have EVER suffered. Food took an age to arrive, was not worth the money. Veg soggy and tasteless, roast potatoes anaemic, stuffing balls could be used as bullets. Plates not cleared between courses.. I could go on. But won't have enough space in this box. I would have been embarrassed as a member of management team, iv had better £10 carverys.

Just left after lunch with my husband. Ordered the sharing platter. Onion ring stack was more like a greasy batter stack as not much onion. Pulled beef was gloomy like glue. Cheesy chips were soggy as microwaved. Chicken tender had never seen tender and wings were French. The garlic bread was OK. All in all very poor. Not surprised that the staff never asked us how it was as they could see. Don't go is our advice.

Went for Lionel Richie tribute night on 1st December as a party of 4 females whilst he was good and entertaining the end of the evening was not. Wasn't expecting much on the 3 course food to be honest with it being a party night. Had the mushrooms for starter which were cold, turkey and potatoes were nice and hot, the vegetables had been overcooked and were soggy and the sticky toffee pudding was luke warm but to be honest not a drama. What happened near the end the night was not pleasant and certainly not appreciated. What I can only assume was the bar manager came over to collect our empty glasses and wine bottle muttered something and told us he would be watching us for the rest of night and promptly accused us of taking in our own alcohol WHICH WE HAD NOT. Bar staff had been alerted by another customer that our table had been drinking our own alcohol. 2 of us were driving and were on soft drinks and water. After confronting said member of staff at the bar and asking what he was on about 5 mins later he sheepishly came over and apologised as he had got the wrong table. Surely if you had been alerted to the fact that own alcohol was being consumed you would actively be observing the act and making sure you got your facts right before accusing innocent people and making them feel humiliated . You were then left with egg on your face and made to look stupid as the other customer who had reported this stated that she had told you it was the table behind us. A token free drink or discounted meal would have been appreciated but nothing at all was offered, just a back handed apology. Shame about the customer service as we used to go here a lot. Maybe an internal course on customer service is required!

Disgusting food. Called last night with my wife, we have been many times and had a decent meal But last night despite being empty had the worst meal of my life. vegetable Soup like wall paper glue with a thick skin on top . chicken dippers cold , salmon burnt , liver boiled to a mush . Everthing that could be spoilt was, Will not go again

Not a good experience at all...1hour wait for food when the place was practically empty.I ordered the loaded burger (doubled up).. arrived eventually with only 1 burger..asked staff ,at which point I mentioned the lack of what was supposed to be pulled pork,they brought it back saying I was only charged for the one burger (fair enough but not the point I asked for it doubled it).partner ordered surf n turf, arrived,very chewy small piece of steak,4 hard pieces of scampi, portion of very scratty chips.Son ordered chicken fillet,bacon and cheese wrap,again came with scratty portion of chips.(we thought well at least his wrap is ok) untill just over half way through he pulled 2 long black hairs out of the middle.spoke to member of staff who agreed it was disgusting and apologized...returned and said we could have a free drink or dessert.. unfortunately I wasn't willing to accept a dessert after the hair incident and asked for the wrap to be refunded (which it was in full)..In future we'll be going a extra couple of minutes down the road to The Marsh,always nice food,good portion size,fair price and quick service..spent over £60 today including some drinks..feel robbed and won't be visiting again.

Went for a meal. Won't go again. Order steak and ale pie. Pie had ice cold bits of meat in so wasn't heated through properly. Told the server who's response was I'll let him know. I wasn't offered a replacement or apology. Poor customer service and a waste of money. Its a shame as we probably have eaten there @ 4 plus times this year, what a let down.

This has to be the worst food and customer service ever.We came as a family and spent just short of ,£100 and had to send all the cardboard chips back .3 times the burgers went back. Well Leah the manager?your attitude was equally awful .Your poor excuses and no bother given attitude leave a lot to be desired. You may want to take a look and see why the restaurant is quiet!

Large pub so ample seating found large table near open doors so nice and cool .the menu is large so something for most tastes the food was decent and at a price that won’t break the bank ,oh and ample parking’

The staff were lovely but the food was absolutely dreadful. Supposed to be a cheese & onion pie, firstly it looked like a Greggs pasty, but I would be surprised if there was a teaspoonful of cheese & onion in all the pastry. The veg were over cooked & watery the only decent thing was the chips! What a waste of money.

Absolutely brilliant. Great food, friendly staff and dog friendly too. I had pork steak followed by the most delicious strawberry gateau. Very good value too. I would highly recommend.

Never been before, but lived nearby, so when my patents came to visit so decided to try.Gammon was ok, but forgot my egg, which arrived as I'd almost finished. My mums seabass was ok but my partner and dad had chilli con carni. That was terrible unfortunately. Literally NO flavour at all and very dry. It tasted like water. Staff were lovely, and polite but forgot to order my pudding. Got sorted quickly though.

Went last Sunday, and had the Sunday dinner was amazing loved it and so did my mum!! Highly recommend.

Another great night at the Liversedge- we regularly attend the tribute act nights and always have a really good night out! The acts are always brilliant- 'Tom Jones'- last pm, the meal was piping hot, really tasty and great value! The staff as ever are hard working and friendly!We already have our next one booked to ensure we get a table!

We go here quite regularly, the menu is excellent value with lots of choice, the bar has an extensive selection of drinks. The staff are all very helpful.

Food was decent for pub food however, the manager was rude and spoke down to us as we were only 17. Me and my boyfriend went for a meal out I went up to order Two NON-alcoholic drinks and they was no issue, later we went back up to order some food there was still no issue. The manager then came to deliver the food to our table knowing there was only the two of us, still no issue. After my boyfriend had finished he went up to order a desert and another NON-alcoholic drink for me as I still hadn't finished my meal, he got asked for ID by the manager as he said we wasn’t allowed to be in there alone as we were under 18 however, we have already got food and been in there for two hours. I understand that we was under 18 and They have rules however, I feel this should have been mentioned when we first arrived and not halfway through my meal as I had to finish my meal with no drink, I have been here many times before with no issue, I feel they needs to be set rules and consistency throughout the staff so these issues don’t happen again, this ended in a very disappointing evening as we had to leave early and me and my family will not be returning again. (I have been to many different pubs for a meal with non-alcoholic drinks and have never had an issue as 16 and 17 year olds are allowed in without an adult)

I ordered the salmon with new potatoes and seasonal veg. The "new potatoes" had eyes and stalks on them. The season vegetables were carrots. I had a piece of salmon so ordered a dessert. Had crumble, it was cold. The staff however were lovely.

Myself and six friends(we all worked together for many years) meet once a month here for lunch Today we had Christmas lunch and it was excellent Staff were very attentive and we really enjoyed ourselves Recommend the Liversedge for a good meal with a nice atmosphere and pleasant staff and very affordable prices Thanks for a great time

I have just been robbed of £10 by a member of staff who gave me change for 10 when I had given her 20. I drew this politely to her attention and she then accused me of lying without even checking the till. I left before saying or doing something I might regret. Please be careful if you visit this establishment and my advise would be to pay by card.

has a varied menu at acceptable prices has a good car park and puts on entertainment on various dates.thier is also acomodation if required .a decent sized car park in pleasant surroundings

Had a large and tasty Sunday Lunch at the Liversedge. Large portions, and at under £9 for a roast, noticeably half the price you'd pay "down south" where we come from!! Very friendly staff and good service. Interior a little dated now and needs an overhaul as a little too dark and shame it doesn't take well-behaved dogs as this was a problem for us. Nevertheless would certainly recommend for roasts, and will go again.

Had a lovely dinner here, all the food we ordered was yummy and cooked wonderfully. Even my little girl was delighted with what she had . Will def eat here again the next time we pass.

Our family of 12 went for sunday lunch..the food was ok but the guy with the glasses on behind the bar needs to learn some customer service skills. He spent the whole time staring at us for some reason..really rude after spending 150 quid !!!!!

Went in today with a party of five adults all ordered food two burgers were undercooked and three pies had been reheated in microwave when we questioned the burgers were told they shoud be pink in the middle as they were fresh from the farm, they did redo the burgers but by htat time everyone else had finished eating

Plenty of parking, and a good selection of beers. Some fun pub game machines. It’s family oriented however could do with a refurb. A place to see a tributary bands.

This is a very nice country pub set in nice surroundings . The staff friendly and helpful and good choice menu.

We called in on our way back from Huddersfield to have lunch and it was amazing, the food was top class and not over expensive. Great staff and will be there again soon

Went here with my family well what can I say microwave food mash was disgusting no favor carrots and peas frozen waited a hour for it everything was cold never come here agian was all still hungry had ordered a takeaway when got home

To all of you out there knocking this place. My partner and I have been going here for about 7 years almost every other week. The food has always been great, hot, plentiful and tasty. The prices for what you get are amazing. The staff are lovely, always friendly and obliging. Chris and Helen are great and run a lovely pub well and a great team of staff. Tribute nights are great. Come with the family for parties and always happy. Well done all at the Liversedge keep on doing what you are doing.

I’ve heard some bad feedback but my friend really wanted to go-we were pleasantly surprised!

I have had dinner at this restaurant a few time and alway of the highest standard and great value for money, Highly recommend It

I went there with friends and my dog. No notices to say dogs not allowed. Went into the restaurant to be met by a female manager who told me to get out as no dogs allowed( not a problem with dogs not allowed but her attitude towards me was disgusting. )

I entered the liversedge restaurant and loved the location and environment, good parking space, but the bushes are over grown and needs some serious trimming, the restaurant needs a bit of updating with the carpet and the wonky floor needs to be sorted. I always check toilets in every restaurant and make sure it's kept sparkling clean, and the toilets here got an A+ for being clean.

Visited today with family for what we thought would be a nice meal instead one of us ordered a Sunday lunch and went large the food came out rather quickly when the said meal arrived all looked alright but when she started eating it the veg had no taste the meat is out of a packet the gravey is like water the roasties were over cooked the Yorkshire puds were flavourless the smallest lump of mash potatoe possible my son ordered the kids mixed grill left the burger as he said it was dry my pork chop had lost all the flavour will not be eating here again had to call to Mcdonalds on way home so they had had something to eat that's how bad the food was the picture is how much Sunday lunch was left as it wasn't edible

Always a welcoming atmosphere with a good choice of reasonably priced meals for all the family. Enjoyed Quiz night.

Visited with my husband and children on Friday evening ordered the wrong meal by mistake and the waitress was very rude and stunk of the lager she had been drinking at the bar.

Came here on a Sunday 10th March, the place was packed but we still managed to find a table for the 5 of us. Plenty of choices to choose from and great value. Excellent friendly service. Staff was very helpful. Love this place. Will recommend and be back again.

Cheap and cheerful but food not that great . Beer ok but not a fantastic selection of craft beers. Tables need to be cleaned a lot faster..

Been to this pub/restaurant a few times, the food is always amazing and a good choice on the 2 4 £10.00 especially the pie. The staff are always warm and welcoming.
