The best restaurants in Liversedge and Gomersal Kirklees Yorkshire and The Humber

We heard that this pub had reopened under new management so decided to give it a try. Completely different ambience to last time we visited. Both our meals, Fish Pie & Belly Pork were lovely. Vegetables were plentiful & well cooked. Next time we will try Sunday Lunch. It is so nice to have a local pub with good food not fast food. We will definitely be back very soon

Seven of us arrived for lunch around 1.30 on Tuesday. We queued for some time while trying to understand the system. We had to hunt for trays & wait to order. While doing this one of our group took menus from a table. Three of us wanted scones, there were two on display. The other one asked for a scone & they said there weren’t any. She said she would have soup only to be told there wasn’t any. The other four were directed to a separate counter to select carvery items. Eventually we sat down & I was facing a large trellis covered in fake greenery, not quite what I except to see in a garden centre. There was a dog barking very loudly & a male customer sneezing in the same manner, not using a tissue. The two of us who managed to get a scone enjoyed them, we both thought they were freshly baked. Those who had the carvery said it was OK.

Very reasonable food for the cost. Menu variable and there are daily deals on the board. Special 2 for a tenner meals and a good children's menu.

Asked for some tap water as passing on a run, lady asked if I was a “customer” - I said no and she looked like I’d asked for the moon on a stick!! Well it’s 100% made sure I will never be one! Jeez what’s up with folk?! Sad times when water is at a premium 😳🙄

I have had some bad curry’s over the years but this was by far the worst, we ordered and paid online, after realising we ordered wrong I phoned them to alter it within 5 mins of ordering, they was extremely rude saying I couldn’t change it, and he then proceeded with a load of abuse to me often using f#cling during the conversation, the curry turned up 10 mins later, the chips where cold and the curry was just awful and not edible at all. Never use again and no wonder they have such bad ratings

It was so bad 😢 Sorry to say but I’m not gona order from there again
