Roaring fire on a freezing day and very welcoming host. Plenty of space for seating and they have a pool table too. Great local pub.

Stopped here whilst on our motorcycle ride and had a light lunch. Lovely food and good value for money. The staff couldn’t be more friendly and genuinely helpful, and the premises was clean and equally welcoming. We will certainly be returning.

Small, clean cafe that serves freshly cooked food. A great place to go for breakfast if you're in the local area.

Top top pub food, well presented, we ate there 3 nights on the run, the three of us tried different meals each night and all were very good. The chef makes the sweets in-house and I couldn't believe the quality, the biscoff cheese cake is amazing, the others we tried were all great. The locals are brilliant, it's a bit like being on set of a sitcom based in a 1970s Yorkshire farming town. Just how a pub should be.

Large Haddock, Fish Goujons, Large Chips, curry sauce, £22.50 First a little insight to the service here. There was a small queue outside which I took to be a good sign, unfortunately not, as I got inside the door I asked as I normally would if they would put me in a Large Haddock, this was responded to with a very curt and loud reply of " No we can't, there are people in front of you, wait until you order" . I resisted the temptation to walk away at this point. Anyhow the order was placed...then the real comedy began, the lady taking the order passes it to the lady who passes your meal. She sorts these in order and passes onto the fryer. The downside of this operation then kicks in, the fryer only deals with one order at once and only puts Fish in to cook when the previous order has been passed to the customer. So if the person in front has a large order you know your in for a long wait. So the reason for the queues outside and people waiting Inside to collect their order became obvious ! I think they must be going for some sort of record in slow service. Onto the fish and chips, I had ordered wrapped and had a 7 to 8 min journey home. The portion sizes were very very generous indeed. The batter on the fish was sufficiently crispy considering the journey home and the flesh inside was lovely and moist with great flavour. However there was some parts of uncooked batter which can be seen in the pics. The chips again was a huge portion but in general they were a let down. Not at all crispy, but rather bendy and soggy. ( Travel perhaps , but not sure tbh). And they didn't taste great as a result. Curry sauce was very good. All in all a mixed bag, Great portions and as such good value. 10/10 Fish, lovely tasting but could have been better batter. 7/10 Chips, not good 4/10 Service, absolutely diabolical 0/10.

Absolutely stunning meal at Gransmoor lodge, some of the best quality food we’ve had. The monster fish and chips were out of this world and the steak was juicy and cooked to perfection, the homemade pepper corn sauce and coleslaw were also fantastic we couldn’t have been happier with our experience, compliments to the chef and staff would definitely recommend!

WOW!!! We stopped here for lunch after doing a fantastic walk by the canal. We all had no idea what to expect and were blown away from arrival. The restaurant is lovely. Pub has a gorgeous feel to it. Staff so kind and more than happy to provide fresh water for our dogs! The food was fantastic! Gorgeous to go somewhere and not only have Panninis and sandwiches on offer! They managed to cater for our large girlie table and the coffee's and desserts were also wonderful. This place is so near and I will be returning with my family! Owners as hospitable as this, deserve to do well. THANK YOU Team Blue Post Inn!
