Great place , great food , lovely staff and very homely

Fantastic place for a large group (15) of us to have lunch. The food was excellent, the portion sizes were spot on and very reasonably priced. Staff were very friendly and if we're in the area again I'll definitely be returning.

Lovely meal, greta hosts, been many times and will continue to do so .

At least to say a fantastic place. Food is great with large portions. (We had 2 salmons and 2 burgers The staff are wonderful and very forthcoming. They just made our day today. Even made meals for our family outside of service hours. Also in the female toilet, they have a changing mat. So if you come with an infant, you have a place where to change/ clean the baby. 5 people left this place very satisfied, happy and with full bellies. Highly recommend!

This is the second time I have eaten here The first time was lovely, the reason for our second visit we was waiting for over 1 hr for food to be served, not offered a drink in-between when asked how long we would be before getting our food we were told 3 minutes which was then another 10. Once the food arrived the plate was slammed down in front of my husband and waitress walked off without asking if we would like any condiments, when asked if we could have some vinegar she said I'm on my own!!! the chips tasted like they had been cooked in old fat/oil when the manager came over to ask if everything was ok I said no and told him about the waitress and the chips. He didn't take kindly to this and waved his arms around and told us we should leave and not pay for our food Overall very dissatisfied with the all experience

Stumbled across this place whilst glamping in little kelk. Amazing food, great service, good prices and very generous portions. Extra special shout out to the mint aero cheesecake which my partner thoroughly enjoyed. Cannot fault the place. Will definitely be back!

Great mixture of English pub food and Greek cuisine.

Visited around 1330 on a Thursday lunch time after having to attend East Ridding Crematorium. Should have called ahead but after looking on Google I saw that it was open only to find it closed on arrival. I was in a bit of a desperate state with a four month old and 18 month old who needed feeding. We’d already travelled from Skipton, West Yorkshire. Bumped into a couple and asked if they knew anywhere local that was open and explained I’d come to this pub because it said it was open on Google. I was met with a remark about them having nothing to do with Google and I should have visited the website instead. Turns out they were the proprietors. I thought the mention of two babies might prompt them to help with a suggestion but this wasn’t the case. A local pub for local people I would imagine. We found a lovely pub a few villages along who went above a beyond to help a solo traveling distressed parent with two young children.

Friendly pub, both staff and cliental. We visited a few times and this is the best pub in Nafferton. We didn't try the restaurant unfortunately.

Was there last night with the nafferton bowls team another great meal service was excellent would highly recommend i had musaka👌

Perfect menu with such a great selection of delicious food! We return each time, as we know we will have a lovely evening. Whether it be dinner for 2, a large group, Petros is so accommodating. So happy to have discovered such a lovely village pub, thank you so much we will keep coming back!!

It was closed and where there is a bus stop in a village and where there are no other services having a lovely pub may make sense to offer coffee and facilities especially if you miss that nus and have to wait an hour.

Always great for a drink and the restaurant Petros is a family favourite.

We were so lucky, Petros was sp kind and fitted in a huge group on a busy Sunday night. We had been told we could have to wait for food, this was not a problem at all. We arrived and wuth our friends saut in the bar area in front of a hot fire and all mingled and had a couple of drinks. The menu is extensive with so much choice, it made it hard to choose. Everything fresh and great attention to detail and quality food. We all had various dishes and desserts and were all impressed! We will definitely return, Petros was so lovely and thank you so much.

Good choice of tastey, value for money food. Just slightly too long a wait. However, definitely worth a try, especially the sea food meze!

Not a great start, called to check they did vouchers, told yes we open at 3pm. Drove through from Hull just after 3 - not open. Despite a guy being in and seen through the window, no reply to our knocking on the window or calling on the phone. Went elsewhere!!

Lovely Greek food, and not overpriced.

We were a party of 10 ranging from 8 to 80 in age the food was lovely, very tasty, lots if it and reasonably priced. Service was very friendly but the food was slow to arrive. Otherwise would happily recommend.

Great Sunday roast and amazing pudding! It was our first visit to the cross keys, as we moved to the area a couple of months ago, we thought we’d try out the local for a Sunday roast, and we weren’t disappointed! We had the roast beef which was lovely, the meat was soft and melted in your mouth! We had some herb potatoes which were delicious as well! I didn’t feel like I missed the roast potatoes either, I did miss a roast parsnip however, but the Yorkshire pudding was lovely and crispy, and the steamed veg you got with it was nice as well. The desserts were so nice! I had a baileys cheesecake, if I wasn’t so full I could have eaten more haha! And my partner had a biscoff cookie pie, which he rates as a 10/10! Thank you for a great meal, and we will be back to try out some of the other fantastic meals on the menu!

Absolutely lovely food, the chips are the best I’ve had in years as was my spicy burger (chilli con carne AND jalapeños 😋) with a really nice dressing on the side for the salad… well worth the reasonable price. We had a great catch up and the guy dipped in and out, very entertaining 😂, brilliant 3 hours spent, will definitely be returning.

Paid my first visit to The The Cross Keys, and the restaurant Petros (which is at the rear of the building) on Sunday. The girlfriend has family who live in the village of Nafferton, which in itself seems lovely. Have to say both the pub and restaurant are excellent. Was a reasonable sized group of us, and everyone seemed more than happy with their food choices. Along with a lot of classics, the menu also has a bit of a Greek theme to it, which is always fine with me. As well as enjoying my own meal immensely, I was also looking enviously at everyone else's. Which means I'll no doubt be back to try some of the other options. On top of the great food and nice location, the place also has a very welcoming atmosphere and laid-back, friendly staff. Thoroughly recommended 👌

We were visiting friends who live locally and wanted somewhere with good food and no loud music. So,just off the main road into Nafferton we came here. Very friendly owner and chef who looked after us. Delicious food ( Yorkshire portions) even from a Greek! Fab home made cheesecake too. Happy to return next time and highly recommend

Went for Sunday lunch. Made to feel welcome from booking to leaving. Landlord brilliant All 6 of us enjoyed the meal. Prices reasonable. Landlord even noticed 4 year olds name and used it. She was really pleased Totally recommend this pub.

What a great find! We were looking for a place for Sunday Lunch on our way back form Bridlington. We were really struggling to find anywhere but Petros came up and we were accommodated straight away. Not bad for a party of 15 people at short notice. We had great service and good humour throughout. Everyone enjoyed the food - the tirmisu on the specials board only had a couple of portions left - my dad said it was the best tiramisu he has ever had! He let me try a spoonfull and I can only agree! Thank you for making our trip even more special. I would highly recommend coming here.

Easter Sunday and we wanted somewhere to eat. This place was a little far out of the coastal town we were staying. Rang up, got a table for 6. The regular menu looked really good, but the specials board was also tempting. Between the 6 of us we found something we could eat. One of the party is elderly and has a small appetite. They were more than cool with letting her order from the little diners section of the menu. The duck on the board was tempting but wanted chips instead of the new potatoes, no problem. Everyone enjoyed their meals. Drinks showed that kept a good cellar and especially the cask ale. Would certainly go again.

We visited here on Friday night ( finally getting round to it as we live in the village) and it was absolutely fab! Can’t believe we waited so long to visit, as we will definitely be going back, the food was beautiful & freshly prepared..Petros ( the owner) was very accommodating, nothing was too much trouble, a lovely chatty man, very welcoming too.. there was a great choice of starters, mains & desserts.. we had the Brie, prawns, yummy, chicken & salmon, …and everything was perfect.. will be back soon..5 stars for fab food & definitely well worth a visit.

Both meals were top notch, roast beef and trimmings for my friend and sea bass fillets for me. The beef was 'melt in the mouth' and with wonderful flavour, while the sea bass was a lovely meal with potato, tomatoes, bacon an additional dish of fresh vegetables.

Just been for our New year's meal the food was 👌 I had the lamb shank and my wife had stuffed chicken off the specials board the staff were really nice will we eat here again most definitely.

Very nice Inn, the staff are always caring, the food was delectable and overall it had a very cosy feeling on the inside. Just a slight warning, if you want to order the jalapeño pepperoni pizza, it is spicier than I thought it would be and even though the adult portion doesn't look like it will stuff your stomach in less than four slices, it does.

Came up on my motorbike tonight dnd the owner kindly let me park on his drive went above on beyond with our service and the food was just beautiful highly recommended and will definitely be back soon lovely people

While looking for something different we came across this Greek restaurant. What a wonderful dining experience we had. We opted for authentic Greek food, although other cuisine was available, and were amazed with these home made dishes. The tastes were delicious. The service we received from Petros, the host, was outstanding. The prices of both food and wine were reasonable. Would highly recommend and will be returning, when next in the area. A huge thankyou to the chef, and please add more authentic Greek dishes to your menu.

This little gem of a place was recommended by some friends who live local to the restaurant in question. We were looking for somewhere nice to eat after a funeral of a family member. On arrival we were greeted in a lovely manner and shown straight to our table. The service received was second to none. The food itself, also did not disappoint with every course coming out perfect and all together. We will certainly be going back again and would definitely recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for somewhere nice to eat. Well done Petros of Nafferton, Keep up the good work. There's a good varied menu and we ordered in advance. The food was ready on time, with no fuss. The meals were excellent and were good value for money. Definitely recommended and will go again.

A small village public house and restaurant. I visited during the period of covid restrictions, so the experience would have been restricted. The menu had a reasonable range of dishes. I ordered the steak pie, which was served with chips and a side of seasonal vegetables. The food was good basic pub food, it was tasty and the portion size good, but nothing out of the ordinary.

First time I’m many years . Social distancing in place and felt totally safe . One door in and different door out. Lovely food. Had homemade meat pie , best one in a long time. Fresh veg. Nice cold bottle of Prosecco . Lovely clean toilets. Very happy.

First time and definitely not the last. Well worth the drive. Went on the eat out offer but worth every penny at full price with great staff. The moussaka was the best I have tasted, took me back to a proper taste of Greece! Look forward to returning thank you.

Beautiful food and very generous servings. Even though they don't have a kids menu they were very accommodating and made smaller portions for both little ones. Gentleman who served us was very polite and friendly. Will defo visit again when we are in the area.

Visited with friends for lunch. All I can say is wow. The Restaurant has both English and Greek options We had the Greek special which was an amazing infusion of tastes. The staff are friendly and welcoming. The only slight negative is the lack of cask ales. But to be honest the Theakstons pale ale was excellent. We will definitely be returning

Our party of ten were staying for a long weekend near this restaurant and found it on a walk we had a drink in the pub attached to the restaurant and booked a table for the following day we had a mixture of meals ranging from pasta to mussels to Sunday lunch service good food plentiful and hot we brought a birthday cake with us for one of our party which they served to us which was a nice touch

The wife and I found Petos on Google whilst looking for somewhere slightly outside our area to try. So we drove out to the pub/restaurant for a quick look and a couple to pints. I was pleasantly surprised when I picked a "Hand-Pulled" pint and the actually had it. Recently a lot of pubs in our area have the pumps but seem to only stock Larger. If that's what the majority of their customers drink, fair enough, then just remove the other pumps and don't pretend to stock something you obviously don't. After getting that off my chest lets get back to the review. We looked at the menu and decided to book a table for the next night, the next night being Friday. We had a slight reservation as the service at the bar seemed a little slow, more of that latter. On Friday we arrived at about 1925, the table was booked for 1930, with only a short delay we were shown to our table, looking around it seemed that the restaurant was less than a quarter full. Now started the long wait, after about 50 minutes I was just about to leave when a gentleman, Petros, may be arrived and took our order, expecting some king of excuse, like we are very busy or the chief had to be taken to A & E in Birmingham, I was sorely disappointed with no reaction even to my somewhat humorous "I man could die of starvation in the Restaurant ".I had ordered Black Pudding and Portabella Mushroom Tower, and Penne Arrabiata. My wife ordered Portabella Mushrooms and Salmon in a prawn sauce from the specials board. The poached egg on top of my "Tower" was vey very overcooked and could have been used to play squash. The rest of the dish was as advertised and very dry.The salmon was tastey and served on a bed of mashed potatoes.My mains were OK. For desert I had bread pudding, it was heavy and tastless.

We visited on a Thursday evening in Aug whilst on holiday in the area. Upon arrival drinks order taken and we sat in lounge where we looked at menu order was taken. We then waited in .lounge whilst food cooked and then called through to Petros restaurant on side of criss keys when food was ready,Food was excellent gammon was very good home made steak and kidney pie very good as was lamb shank plenty of veg served. Dersets were good to bread & butter pudding very good as was chocolate brownie.Service excellent all night until the end and I would have given five apart from at the end were I paid the bill in cash. I left before my mum and sister and a member of staff I think the owner bared there way out saying we under paid. I know this was not the case as I counted the money as did my wife . We think it was owner who was rude and my sister had to pay a extra five pounds. Should have been handled better and I am sure if she had recounted all money was there

This is a real find. It's part of the Cross Keys pub in Nafferton and it really is restaurant standard food at pub prices. Service is friendly, informal and efficient and the food really is very good. The three of us had Mousaka as a main course (next time we will take advice and realise we don't need chips as an extra!). Quite busy for a Thursday evening, which is a good sign. Reasonably priced wine, too.

We visited here on Friday to take my mother in-law out for a meal for Mother’s Day. To be honest I was expecting basic pub food... I was pleasantly surprised. It had a nice relaxing atmosphere. We were greeted by a very friendly gentleman who was only too happy to assist one of our party members who had a peanut allergy. They offered a wide range of dishes that did not dissapoint.We had drinks in the bar whilst we mulled over the menu. Once ordered we waited for the food to be cooked. Once prepared we were taken through to the cosy restaurant. The food was lovely and offered just something more than your basic ‘pub grub’ and the prices were reasonable too. We all had an enjoyable evening and definitely worth a trip if you are in the area.

I had the salmon and my partner had the steak, we both enjoyed our meal it was fantastic and the host was very attentive 👍😊
